came in expecting kagari to die once. Left not disappointed. Also I see you hit the soft enrage?
Yeah, we aren't 100% on how the soft enrage works, it came at different times on different attempts(up to 30-40 second difference!). Our best guess is that you only get so many rotations in final phase before it automatically begins, and since our deaths came in last phase it makes sense I guess.

I'm upset.

Congrats!

Super jealous of people getting into Final Coil, I have to kick my static and get them to take this serious so we can stop wasting time and work for a clear.

And you didn't need to spoiler tag jack.

So far NIN DPS seems fairly underwhelming. I'm pretty sure I'm getting less than in theory because of the ping slowing down mudras(stupid idea to have several skills in .5sec interval but still make them double check with server) but still I'm at about 300-350, in i98 gear with an i110 weapon(granted gear is pretty garbage, way too much accuracy and shit, I just got a few random things for now). My monk does about the same with i90 and Zenith. You have more burst, more aoe(a lot more, god those aoes) and possibility of ranged dmg plus you can't really drop the 15%speed unless you mess up, but it's still kinda behind. I've generally been outdpsing everyone else in the pug stuff I've done but that doesn't mean much, feel like it should perform a bit better with a i110 weapon. Maybe need better gear.

Oh also the class is complicated as fuck. I don't think it'll ever get to the point where I can DPS without paying attention, 18secs dot part of a chain, 20secs debuff(optional) part of another chain, 30secs dot, ninjutsu priority system and 3 off the GCD abilities, plus the usual cooldowns, it all lines up weirdly so you can never do a "rotation" and it's all priority based forcing you to constantly do choices, with the reduced GCD. Wish the UI was better for this, in WoW keeping track of all those buffs and debuffs is easy enough, in this game it's annoying. Pretty fun still though, but damn. Worst part is the leveling doesn't prepare you at all, cause it only starts getting complicated at 45.

I guess since everyone wanted Ninja, they want to see if you have what it takes to be a... Master Ninja.

Honestly though, just reading on what people were saying about macros and whatnot, it does sound complicated.

Like three days in to the patch and I'm already idling on the stables for hours on end while watching Netflix because there's nothing I particularly feel like doing. The fishing stuff from what I can tell is just expensive as hell with no payout (gathering for the new fish requires the forager's stuff), and most of the rest of the patch is faceroll dungeons, ninja, and FCoB.

Wound up shutting off auto-renewal; I have 16 days to get PLD to 50 and clear Shiva EX, but that's about it until 2.5.

Remember 2.45 will have things.

This patch is content light if you don't do Final Coil or level ROG/NIN. You can tell a lot of development went into both the NIN job and all the quests associated with them.

Fuark.. We wiped on t10 at 5% it enranged so we had a go at our dps whaha. Going back in tonight. I gotta say the last phase is fun, overall a nice fight. Hoping to be at t11 sunday.

It really sucks that our tank changed servers without telling anyone on the last day before patch. We can't get dick going right now, we should've cleared T10 already but instead we probably won't even go in again this reset.

Wow, that's a sleazy thing to do. I forgot whether you were on Ultros or not. If you are, who was your tank?

Yeah, this patch is a bit like Patch 2.2 was. You're either doing Final Coil, leveling up Rogue/Ninja, or stuck playing item level catchup on one of your various jobs. The last one isn't particularly fun, especially because you need to go into old content (Syrcus Tower/Second Coil) to get to ilevel 110.

Now's a good time on working on getting a static together. Then learning mechanics via Second Coil while getting everyone i110, then before or during 2.45, you're ready to tackle the Final Coil and future content.

Should have put Echo on T6-T9 and as well put Coil 2 on DF so more people would do it. And a new stage for the relic quest.

But yeah, it's not a very interesting patch. It doesn't help they also killed hunts, which was a great activity when you had nothing to do in game.

Welp, got Shiva down, and got that weird little fending bracelet too. Gonna be honest though, I still need some work on that fight. There's lots of little stuff you need to remember, and it's not very scripted, so you can't just memorize the steps and be done with it.

Overall, I'd say it's of similar difficulty to Ramuh. It's probably slightly more difficult for tanks than Ramuh was, since the swap is a lot more involved, but maybe a hair or two less difficult for everyone else.

Personally, I really like Shiva mechanics. It's "scripted", but it doesn't rely on 1HKO mechanics too much and there is a bit of randomness in it.

If you mess up too much, you get damage stacks, so you can recover if you healer and party members are good, this is how fights should be designed.

Biggest challenge for me was memorizing the timing and exact actions necessary for each weapon change. Was to the point where I could, "muddle through," before it was said and done, but not to the point where I could really, "farm," it per say.

I mean, for my first try I guess that's fine, gotta keep reminding myself that.

If Echo would get more Second Coil farms going, I would kinda welcome it, as long as I got my T9 clear before the nerf bat hits. I would love some tank gear and healing coat. Otherwise, just waiting for the Rogue frenzy to die down so I can actually get some leveling done.

The patch is fine but we really needed another healing or tank job too. I think I'm just bored because I can't get into Final Coil.

Oh well, 2.45 will bring us Wedding wars.

Gotta admit, I am a little annoyed. There were SO many T9 learning parties last week.

This week, not so much. It's all Ninja fates all the time. :p

Yeah tell me about it. I hope he shows up on the TS server again some time, I can't wait to give it to him. I'm on Phoenix actually, started leveling an Ultros alt but just cbf with those story fetch quests again. Nightmare.

Costa is good cause there's almost never no fates, though you need to go to Wineport every now and then to do the fates on the other side, and Cancer is fairly easy to kill and gives good xp. At 35 Coerthas, then you can either stay there until 50 if you're lazy, or go to Mor Dhona(43-44ish preferred) or North Than(46+). You might not find many people there so you actually have to do the FATEs, but solo/small group goes very quickly and if you make a PF with a single group in the zone it's very good xp since you get all the kill credit, which you generally don't in coerthas. 44 you can do Dzemazel first room farm too if you know people to run you.

To solo fates you want a chocobo with at least 4 in heal. 4 is enough to heal you through almost every FATE bosses(other than major ones like svara, cancer, gorchimera etc) and the rest you can dump in DPS for more damage.

40+ clear of Ultros. No winning roll on minion (haven't rolled above a 50 ever). People who want Shiva EX carry tomorrow, you're running Ultros once with me and giving me the minion.

In general the excuse against FATEs that people don't learn how to play is completely invalid in this game, you don't learn shit about how to play in this game's leveling dungeons anyways.

You eventually learn not to pull before the tank around Brayflox! Godspeed, young bards, godspeed.

Yea, i was pretty let down by the fishing stuff they added too. So many fish with literally no use other than filling up a slot in your log and inventory already, and they add 20-30 more that are even harder to catch with the same problem or worse. Just don't get it.

I actuallly like the dungeons though (except Satasha final boss, gross)

They should have made so 1 healer could get the debuff too, in the Ultros fight.

Most DPS are... you know. Healers are usually more aware.

2.45 is supposed to have crafting (and gathering?) rebalance and marriage. Don't you want to see if I give in and become a lala in exchange for married bliss??

I'm pretty sure I'm getting less than in theory because of the ping slowing down mudras(stupid idea to have several skills in .5sec interval but still make them double check with server) but still I'm at about 300-350, in i98 gear with an i110 weapon(granted gear is pretty garbage, way too much accuracy and shit, I just got a few random things for now). I hit 45 last night and got the final Mudra. Shit just got real.

Were you using the latest version of ACT? There was an issue with Ninja parsing and I think some things are still being worked on (like DOT calculation and tracking).

That aside, I hope no one is expecting Ninja to do equal or greater DPS than a Monk against a stationary target. As you said, Ninjas don't have many set rotations and a lot of their damage will be situational. Monk will probably always have the best sustained DPS in long encounters, but Ninja gets stronger burst damage and utility. The job is definitely complicated and there is a lot to remember, but it's just making me enjoy it even more. While I enjoy playing the other DPS jobs, none of them have engaged me as much as Ninja. I'm hooked!

Turn 12 atm, its the turn where the decent coil music starts at last, the one from the trailer video.

Also makes you watch opening cinematic with a different point of view.
