Have you tried using Google DNS? Had some discussions at work today that indicated it resolves some of the issues where Verizon traffic hits overloaded routers and provides folks with that lovely "issue client side commands for ten seconds and then watch everything catch up" effect. The other option is using a VPN, which costs money but will almost definitely resolve the issue. Fuck Verizon either way though!
I've used VPNs on and off, at least until I discovered that my routers firmware was bugging out and causing packet loss.
(fun fact: it seems this is a very common problem with routers distributed in North America.)
Since then, my issues have been so intermittent that it'd be hard to justify paying for a VPN. I mean, when your only noticing things 2 to 3 times per month, and at least one of those times is likely to be the servers themselves.....

Thanks? Not sure if you're trying to help or trying to suggest it doesn't help at all. The network engineer I was discussing this with today found it useful and I'm sure both using different DNS or a VPN can and is useful to some depending on the context.
Obviously no promises, but if you're also an east coast FIOS user it may provide some benefit. Set it by logging into your router, not on a per device basis. Will be trying it myself tonight before trying a VPN solution.

That's not how a DNS works.
I know what DNS is and how it works. I also mentioned the VPN services which can give your network traffic a more ideal route (potentially). As the person who shared the tip to me today is a super knowledge person who had a similar issue resolved by the change, I passed it along in the hopes it may help someone else.
So... someone just gifted me today a 60 days subscription. Since I plan on playing every now and then (have a really low lvl lancer but I'm thinking of rerolling as a Thaumaturge). Does the linkshell accept people who aren't raid / pve heavy? (Sadly I dont have a lot of time to play it

The Ultros GAF FC accepts people from GAF regardless of desire to raid (we're a bunch of casuals really), although if you're primarily an Australian or Japanese timezone player you might not want to be on Ultros.

I am trying to do some of your a favor and explain that from someone who isn't part of the community,
a large number of posts here make some people look like complete asshats.
If that is fine with you, then at least live up to it and don't try to excuse the shitty behavior.
Others have called people out on this in the past, so I am not alone.

You do have a point that people do often times come across a little cranky in here. And sadly yes, there has been some bullying and picking on certain members. Nobody wants you to stop posting in here though.

Well, you can't beat that one White Mage who I met during a CT... He only did one single thing during all the tower: he jumped around. Litteraly. He just kept jumping and jumping, not casting a single spell for the entire run. When I pointed this out to him, he told me to "shut my mouth and not stir up shit". I insist, saying that he is basically useless, that his Scholar comrade is doing all the work, and that he should at least help by DPSing if he didn't want to heal. Once again, he comes with a rude answer... and the Scholar reveals that they are in the same free company, and that I should leave him "do the bunny" if he wanted to.
Ever since that CT, every time I see a bunny I murder it in a wild rage.
Happens alot sadly, altho if i go in as a healer it is more fun to do it alone, keeps it a challenge.
Also i've seen Bards just auto attacking or people on /follow that are AFK lol.
Some people in here are complete asshats. And they know it (and a few of them embrace it). Is his post a bit out of line? Sure, I guess. It's also a bit true. And he followed it up with legit advice after it.
Besides that, this IS a community thread. In-jokes and existing relationships and so-on are kind of the norm.
Near the end of 2.3, I pretty much came to accept that there's a 0% chance that all 24 people in an ST run actually participated in encounters.
Is it worth it to animus->novus->nexus at this point? Knowing that Nexus is the end of the line and i120/i135 weapons exist already, it feels worthless to do relic beyond maybe atma or animus for the glow. I had planned to do it for at least my WAR or PLD but after SCoB unlocked it just seems more efficient to get t9 down and farm for HA weapons.

Sometimes I deserve to be set straight, I often wish people did it somewhat differently, but, there's no point really dwelling on it. Dealing with people is just something you've gotta do sometimes, so there's no point in staying upset.
Also, I actually really dislike drama, (Not Drama Zeni, that jokes old,) . I was less upset with Qhon, and more upset that I just couldn't seem to open my mouth without somehow causing drama. Seriously, it's like a really unpleasant talent. In any case, it's kinda disheartening to see yet MORE drama resulting from my earlier comment, as wholly unintended as it may be.

Assuming you can get a group together for FCoB. Unless you are a selfish player or in a weird free for all lot group, you won't be able to lot on unidentified tombstone (for i120 weapon) for at least 4 weeks due to the DPS needing them first. Then you have to get a sand (for i130 weapon) which means T12 clearing (which most groups aren't doing) and then you have to again wait for DPS. I'm not going to bother commenting on T13 weapon as there's like 2 or 3 groups with T13 clears on Ultros.
While the relic will take you to i120 (or more) with the next patch release. And then further along in 2.5 or 2.55.
In summary, unless you're both hardcore and a selfish player (or join an existing group with DPS geared), relic will gear you faster as tank for weapon slot. Assuming you don't mind grinding. I'm personally struggling with the Nexus grind.
