Final Fantasy XV - Jump Festa Active Time Report information + video

The fact that they are doing these things isn't notable. The level of detail and the amount it adds to world building is.

This is brand new for FF games, and there are some behaviors here you wouldn't even get in a GTA game.

This isn't something that effects gameplay; it's just cool! Especially coming from an old Japanese company that hasn't done open world games before.

You are letting your hype get the better of you. There are things like this in final fantasy games all the time. This is like being amazed at the the kids passing a ball around in costa del sol.

I'm a programmer by trade. Hype aside I find these things interesting. I wouldn't have suffered through a comp Sci degree program otherwise. Regardless of that I don't think it should matter what I to you what find interesting.

I'm just appreciating the attention to detail. I'm not foaming at the mouth. As a programmer myself I know what it takes to put something like that together. AI systems like that aren't hardcoded like they were back in the day, and these sorts of extraneous details are low hanging fruit when it comes time to cut back on development. So I can appreciate the care taken to have so many of them in one location where a few people sitting in chairs and walking around could have done the job.

The ball kicking in Costa del Sol was amazing touch too btw! As was Red XIII joining in!

Given what we've seen of it, I feel like 2016 is more likely.

Referring to Persona?

Persona team's marketing approach is generally different from the generic expectations of how an RPG is marketed. It's not something that can be judged by how much/little we've seen of it.

That also does mean that when a game gets into 'trouble', like Persona Dancing, we don't find out until we see staff shuffling and devs changing.

New details coming out of the newly released Famitsu interview:

  • New town Restalm (レスタルム, romanized name not yet announced) is inspired by Havana
  • You can't ride on the ropeway in Restalm in the current version. If time permits, they might try to make it rideable.
  • Restalm is the main town for the first half of the game.
  • Summons are a symbol of the power of the stars (maybe someone can translate that better) and only Noctis can call them
  • Weapons will each have an ability and you receive the benefit of that ability when you equip it as your main.
  • Rare weapons can be found by exploring dungeons
  • There will be "rental chocobos" in the final game
  • You can buy food ingredients in towns for cooking at camp. Bonus for making delicious recipes. Wild monsters can also be eaten. Ignis is the chef
  • For Type-0, Takeharu Ishimoto is working on a Blu-Ray music disc for the OST.

I think he (the source) mis-wrote Havana for Bahamas.
