Final Fantasy XV - Jump Festa Active Time Report information + video

So what if Cid is Cidney/Cindy's dad. You know, wanted to name his firstborn son Cid Jr and all that and was so excited

Then the baby was delivered and it was a girl

No avatar to quote here, sadly.

Cidney, Luna and Stella. Girl road trip.

This should be Final Fantasy XV-2!

There are also trains to travel inside, and these will have their own spaces within them. You’ll travel by train at times, and can freely walk around inside when you do.

This is pretty cool, too! Hoping for some dream-esque sequences like in Final Fantasy VIII. ^o^

Nah, Square Enix hates money for actual good games. Money is for social mobile games.

I'm hoping for something like FF6's Phantom Train, but instead it's Doomtrain.

Incredible. I think some of us take it for granted from time to time that the graphics look so good, but this is just amazing! This truly is exciting technology, I hope they release a making of for this game!

The way they've achieved cloth and hair mechanics and weather behavior is simply outstanding. Animations are also shaping to be mind-blowing. And this is not Luminous 2.0 yet right? They are still moving stuff, in September it was Luminous 1.5 so maybe now it is 1.7? lol As they said at the beginning of the trailer "we aim at delivering even more with the final product"......I would take that scene as it is right now without a doubt though!

I'm with you Falk.

My interpretation:

Cid grew up teaching his daughter how to repair/build ships and eventually she developed an interest in cars as a way to build her own identity. Later on in life she set out on a trek to repair cars as a mechanic.

Anybody knows if they said anything about the next livestream?
Last times they always said when the next one was going to be.

Everything we've seen so far is almost too good to be true... Like Square ACTUALLY listened to us and understood our dreams and hopes for this game.
Everything up to this point has amazed me. And although it's obviously not finished yet, and there's lots of polishing left to do, there's just no denying that they genuinely seem to want to surpass our wildest expectations, they also seem to know what's at stake, should they fail.

I'd honestly given up on this silly childhood dream, I was getting quite cynical to be honest (who can honestly blame me after 3 games with Lightning) ...
But if they succeed (PLEASE DO), to me, it might be equivalent to seeing and playing something in 3D for the first time (an OoT moment) as it'll be something never done before.
And that type of stuff rarely happens nowadays in this industry, so I truly wish them luck!

And Hashimoto, if you guys and gals deliver on the potential this game has, feel free to troll me anytime - I'll always be excited!!

When I first watched that intro trailer for FFXIII with Sazh and Lightning, I was freaking hyped.

Holy hell that didn't turn out well.

I'm not falling for it again.

I care even less about the game now.

Not only is it SUPER dude-bro, but the one female we have seen looks like a complete hooker.

Come on SE. I want to like this game, but this is just bad.

At least it looks pretty.

Dem lips.

Anyone else thinks this character is one of those designed by Roberto Ferrari instead of Tetsuya Nomura?
I'm kinda lead to believe the characters that have less Nomura-ish faces are the ones designed by Roberto(Cor, the purple-haired guy). That being said, Cidney has a VERY Nomura-ish face. The eyes are a dead give away. If Nomura didn't design her, I'd say Roberto's a damn fine copycat, because her face(eyes, nose, the way her lips curl) is EXTREMELY Nomura's style.

Cidney (or how they call her) doesnt even have a role in the story. Shes only the mechanic girl

It seems like it's been a while since we've had a unique scene like this in a train. I don't mean like FFXIII's opening either. A scene that kinda invokes mystery while you are on your journey. Scenes like these are very FF, IMO. Kinda like flashbacks. From what we've seen, there's going to be flashbacks showing Noctis as a child, and him with a young girl(Stella or Luna). I miss all this type of shit in the FF series.

It seems we have different interpretations of "dudebroism." Idealized, relatively feminine/androgynous men reveling in platonic love for one another is not something I typically associate with that term. At least not as it's applied to video games.

The "complete prostitute" thing also strikes me as a bit of an exaggeration. I mean, it's not a good sign that the only woman in the trailer who stood out to you was the one you deemed worth being indignant over. StellaLuna is not dressed revealingly, so she may as well not exist?!

If you really wanted to like this game, you would at least watch the other trailers, which I know you didn't because otherwise you would know that the bolded is bullshit.

I won't even touch the "Cid looks like a complete hooker" part because those discussions never end well.

At the moment, Square Enix are working on adding more action varieties, and they feel that magic isn’t looking too impressive, so they’re not showing it. They need to work on it, but they’ll do that after they’re done with the Summoned Beasts.

At first, they decided on only having Noctis use magic, but they felt that it wouldn’t be as fun gameplay wise, so they’re changing it up a bit so that everyone in the party can use magic.
This has to be a joke. This and still not knowing whether towns will be seamless or not. Aren't these design decisions? What have they been doing for the last 10 months? It almost sounds like they're still prototyping battle system ideas.

Towns are seamless. They're just not sure if the entire game will be with important scenes might having load times:
The game world of XV is aiming to be seamless. Entering and leaving towns will be seamless and Tabata is hoping everything else will eventually be too.

Boy, you sure do love coming into FFXV threads to throw as many insults as you can. Maybe you should take a break.

.

It could very well happen since an overarching theme that seems to have yet changed is sleep. Noctis is sleeping in every trailer. You have to sleep in game. The song Somnus literally means sleep. The artwork with the title shows etro sleeping. So there very well could be. We also see in a trailer released after E32013, I can't remember which one, but Noctis running to his dad in a flashback type thing.

That sounds better than what's in the OP since it tells you about towns in general, but that's quite strange wording about scenes maybe having load times. What's he referring to there? Story scenes are breaks anyway so unless he's referring to areas that aren't connected in a seamless way due to story reasons, and they're seeing if they can make them as such in a sensible way, it seems like a silly thing to say. I hope they have the magic system nailed down now on a basic level and this change isn't something major that takes a lot of time, but in this article you quote, it says they're still working on the base systems. I'm not a development expert, but closing on three years on current gen development soon, I would hope we'd leaving this kind of phase.

No, see four guys being together makes it dude-bro. Now there's a fifth guy, dude-broing it up even more. The more men there are in close proximity to each other there are, the larger amount of dude-bro there is. That's just basic math. Please look forward to my published papers on quantum dude-bro mechanics and reaching the dude-bro singularity

Idk man. The game is still 2 years away at this point it seems. Not sure what happened.

I hope there's an interview with Tabata soon that gives some more details about some of these things. All towns being seamless now would be progress since that was neither here nor there earlier this year, and them actually publically confirming these massive summons with actual footage means they're going to deliver on the SOTC style stuff and that's still intact, but some of this stuff does sound like things I'd imagine they'd have nailed down by now. I hope the magic thing means just the flashiness of it all rather than anything fundamental.

That's what I expected to happen with the change in directors. Nomura might have wanted one thing and Tabata the exact opposite. The game design might have been just rebooted once Nomura left (in 2013) and they are still prototyping new design. Atleast this is what I think happened here.

But keeping in mind a 2016 release, I don't think this is odd. Unless people were somehow expecting a 2015 release for FF XV.

It is a silly thing to say. But like you said, I think it might mean that some areas require a brief loading. I wouldn't be surprised if that whole "bigger areas will require load times" still stuck to some extent.

Game is shaping up to be really sound. I'm still miffed by the change of direction from Nomura - the original trailers had a darker, more mature theme to it. Regardless, all I care about is having a really good FF game to be released.

The town life and open nature of the levels really does invoke the GTAness in the game. From the way different pedestrians walk, to the world building has definitely left more interest than concern. I hope final product turns out to be more polished than what we've seen because I'm already feeling hype injecting to my veins.

The game's a good while away, we're not going to see every character revealed to us just yet.

Even more so if the character's potentially at the side of the antagonist, going purely by her image placement.
