For someone that only played FF7 back on the PSOne, can I enjoy this new one without having any other back round other than FF7 oh and the CGI movie a while ago?

Yes, its not related to FF7. If by CG movie you mean KingsGlaive, you dont need to watch it, but it wouldnt hurt either. If you mean Advent Children, the same answer as for FF7

Been playing an early copy I drove two hours to pick up Friday night.

The hype is too strong.

Game is so good, though :D. #worthit

They need to patch that shit! I would even like an option to turn off the general combat music tbh

Nothing against the combat music, but I dunno sometimes with stuff like this I prefer the background music to just keep playing even over battles. I feel that way about Zelda too.

Just got the Ultimate Collector's Edition and it is massive. Definitely feels like it's worth the cost. Installing the game as we speak.

Ladies and gentlemen, I need to know, plz answer: How does the ascendency skill "Health Level I" behave? Does it only add HP for every level gained so far or will it also increase my HP gained by 1 for every level up to come? If the former was the case, it's better to take it late, isn't it?

For those asking me about the guide.

I got the collectors on Amazon it was insanely discounted. It comes with a massive poster......of you wish to see it click the link, at the end of this post. I won't post the map in case some people don't want to know anything at all about locations, outposts and what not. Just skimming through beautiful maps lay throughout the guide with legends detailing every item location and then zooming in on let's say the gas station for tighter location finder due to clutter of them. It shows the locations of all side quests, hunts, and even dungeons. Also unlike dark souls 3 guide, all items are displayed easily in the primer. Step by step is great, ALSO TELLS YOU THE BONUSES for responding to accepting quests. Percentage of items you will get at certain deposits and mineral spots since they aren't set and are random.

Saw the second map in the guide and said thank fuck I have this because there is shit......literally everywhere. This world looks insane and massive as fuck.

After the main game pages everywhere hunt, quest, collectible you name it is listed there. Every dungeon has a topographical map with collectibles, every base had again maps with collectibles. Maxing out ap usage, full on party building, in depth strategy of playing the game. It's one of the best guides I have seen. There is literally a map for almost everything in the game showing you exactly what you want to know.

Does anyone know how to level up your fishing skill? I've caught a couple but Noct's skill bar hasn't moved.

When I have to press X to evade or B to tag into a combo with a buddy, do I have to time the button press to the indicator on the screen somehow or do I just mash the button? I can't seem to pull of either.

So annoyed when you see a streamer with 1000+ views, telling how this game does not support the PS4 Pro. how come people don't check things before making such statements :s especially when you're announcing SE 'gave' you the game.

Anyway, 14 hours in and still taking my time. Currently still in Chapter 3, and doing as many side quests as I can :D

For those who get the guide, ignore the ap maximization build in the back for first time running. I'm reading it and it literally looks like you can plow your way through the first half of the game with it lol

I'm really sensitive towards frame pacing myself. I'm staying strong and holding off from the game until this December patch. This is going to be really really hard :(

Welp, even though I was charged for my Deluxe Edition like 9 hours ago it still says "shipping soon" on Amazon. Guess I won't be playing until at least Wednesday now.

I feel like "frame pacing" is a term I never heard before 2 weeks ago, and now everyone's saying it.
