I was rereading Verendus's "impressions" posts just for kicks and I decided to round up all of the things he was incorrect about after all. So, as was requested:

This is not true. The fantasy/reality blend is pretty consistent throughout the game. (The strangest parts are actually within dungeons in the first half.)

Also not true. There's no experimenting necessary -- the game tells you exactly what each spell will do before you craft it. None of them are useless. And there aren't actually a lot of combinations.

This isn't really how the game works. Noctis is always a one-man army. You can't focus on a "slow and methodical style."

Also not how the game works. You don't have to plan ahead - you can switch gear mid-combat. And there are no "more damaging weapons" to abuse. The powerful Lucis weapons all drain your HP, so they come at a cost.

This is also false. Maybe spoilery?
Summons are almost never used in the game.

Very much not true. There are tons of cutscenes in the game.

This is all just nonsense. Balee that.

HUH?Naughty Dog? im playing Uncharted 4 and the game is mostly cutscenes, with the bare minimun to expand the "lore" im honeslty shocked by that comparison

Did you preorder? If so, trust in the amazon gods. I've had stuff shipped and arrived on the same day, always ended up being a warehouse closer than I thought.

I did, and so my hope is that Amazon does work its magic. I have the whole day off tomorrow so if they come through for me it would be perrrrfect.

lol can't blame him for saying the first point. It's something Tabata told us would happen but unfortunately it does not.

How/when do you get the portable music player?

Also, is there any guide covering the basics about Justice Monsters Five? Is there an "end" every time you play it or are there endless waves?

Go to key items in the regalia shop.

I'm enjoying the Brotherhood anime a bit more than I expected to. That first episode was trash but the three after that were certainly effective.

The ost got added in today's patch. So you got Kingsglaive music and brotherhood.

And they made him a Lord of Cinder. Not for virtue, but for might. Such is a lord, I suppose. But here I ask. Do we have a sodding chance?
About to start the game on OG PS4. Do I have any graphical settings that is optimal?

When I have to press X to evade or B to tag into a combo with a buddy, do I have to time the button press to the indicator on the screen somehow or do I just mash the button? I can't seem to pull of either.
Hold for block, time / button mash for counter... for me anyway.

Beginning of Chapter 2 and already 10 hours played. I should stop picking up everything.

I'm going through this as slowly as humanely possible. How many years between each major Final Fantasy title? Going to savor this time ;)

It's been 10 years, everyone should enjoy every little bit of this game.

It was like that for me as well before 1.02, but it unlocks as you progress.

Cool, thanks for the heads up.

Also I gotta say I'm glad my doubts about the soundtrack were dashed. Great stuff all around. Still think Gladio's voice is too deep.

Graphical settings? Are there even graphical settings? And how many settings could there possibly be where you couldn't just try them out yourself? What am I missing

That's only for pro, you can however put auto correct camera on, tracking at 3 and turn off a setting that's called "cut ally" something like that its called. Essentially it's a freeze cam that shows when your bros die or use an item.

ive nearly completed everything before leaving Lucis, 74 hours in. Has anyone found where to find the cactaur needle? im lvl 78 and all other weapons have been upgraded, so it feels i should have it by now.

i know they are from cactuars, but i've only got them to spawn twice during my 74 hours, is there an area where you can consistantly get them come out?

other quests i'm stuck on are rainbow frogs and fishing for the devil fish. also another issue with a hunt where i can't get back to where i was before (dungeon).

No? And after that you have to install the game that takes 20+ minutes, though during that time you can fight some goblins in a tutorial.

When I preloaded there was a break in the download where it said "ready to play" after like 6 GB though. That sounds like a play-while downloading thing?

I'd be in the dick
I just got a shipping confirmation. It's real. 10 years of waiting and it's actually real.

I haven't played a JRPG in a long time. Really looking forward to this one.

I find this discrepancy quite interesting. Is there an entire weird/fantastical continent that was cut from the game in final days?

Well this game is different, seeing how you have to install the data before you can play the game. You can't do that obviously by having only some of the data.

So excited. Hard to believe the day is nearly here....

EBGames.ca still hasn't shipped my Deluxe Edition. I paid extra for the premium shipping too. I'll be sending them an email in a bit, I'd better receive it tomorrow!

Enjoy, everyone!

Quick, is 1.02 the latest patch

One thing I don't understand is the Kingdom of Lucis. I don't know if this is spoilery but I'll tag stuff just in case. It has to do with Kingsglaive and episode 2 of Brotherhood.
In Brotherhood, Prompto and Noctis wander around Lucis and the architecture/landscaping is unquestionably Japanese suburbs, but nothing resembling it appears in Kingsglaive. Is that just oversight or are there different districts in the kingdom resembling various countries from our world?

Thanks guys

Can't fucking believe it's actually happening now

God bless, I'm starting it now

Different districts, Lucis is big. You got the Times Square/Tokyo downtown..and then you got the suburbs.

How much post-game content is there?

A lot.

Ok so about the audio settings, what exactly does home theater take advantage of? 2.1, 5.1, 7.1?

Kinda non descriptive.

Alright, I'm going to hit the sack.

Everyone whose game unlocks in ten minutes: enjoy! It's been worth the wait. Hope you feel the same :D

I have a question. On the patch notes, it says that you need to update your save file to the new game versions and that updated saves won't work on 1.0 game.

How do I update the save file? How can I see if it was updated?
