.....Um.... No..... I've been out in the world exploring for 30 hours

Edit: I'm at 30 hours and I'm still in chapter 3, I think I can say I've done my fair share of exploring

Then I don't know what to tell you. There's dungeons and royal arms and useful items all over. I just finished doing a dungeon that I stumbled on by following a random path I saw while driving.

How much of my treasure should I be selling? Will I be able to find everything I need for quests as they come? I just found an earth gemstone and it sells for 1500 gil so I'm assuming it's going to be useful lol

There are some dungeons that gives you a sidequest to explore them after entering so I assume those are optional

Gotcha, thanks!

Question about cooking:

When you camp and the food menu comes up, are the materials listed the amount required to make the dish or the number of materials you have in stock?

If you've been to a nearby point sure. That's a bandaid though. Nothing says "great open world" than fast traveling everywhere to avoid being in the open world.

That point is silly though, as all "great open worlds" have fast travel. It's a bandaid that must be done if a game is to have a big world. That being said, I can't really talk about how effective the world is. But any world gets boring after running around for a while, resorting in just fast traveling everywhere. Some worlds are more effect than others, though. It does seem like there are diverse opinions, as some people seem to love exploring the world.

I'm kind of unsure at this point how I will see it. I liked exploring Xenoblade Chronicles X's world, but after some point you just have to fast travel. It would be a waste of time otherwise. And for Witcher 3, I wasn't really drawn into the world that much, to be honest.

The dungeons are weird to me. For now they all have been the complete opposite of the rest of the game. They're always a bunch of corridors with a single texture plastered all over , they don't overstay their welcome, and they're surprisingly fun.

They should have been shit, but they aren't. They feel like a last minute addition but with the guy designing them actually trying to do something unique with limited ressources.

They're really good. I like how many of them mimic natural caves and other realistic settings, too. I loved the dungeons in this game, they're part of the reason why I ended up liking it despite the major shortcomings in the story department.

Dungeons are on the same, good level of the accomplished FFs. I was surprised too.

Haha this story is mental. Someone just died and i have no fucking idea who it was but I think im meant to be upset by it.

So... Kingsglaive can teleport to their weapons or specific weapons? Tied to the kings magic. Noctis's crew has the capability to use some of his powers like summoning weapons. Why exactly can they not teleport/phase too? What made Kingsglaive special?

Thanos acquires the fully powered Infinity Gauntlet in The Avengers: Infinity War, but loses when all the superheroes team up together to stop him.

Regis had full control of the ring/was stronger, I guess.

The travel complaints are the same levied against Dragons Dogma at launch.

People really don't enjoy the fun of the journey lol

I didn't sell anything so far, just spent 10k just to sleep in Galdin Quay before the story cutscene just to see if there's any optional dialogue there. Hunts pay quite well.

Chapter 5, Level 30 with 24 hours logged. I just love exploring the world haha.

Yeah it's a fun minigame. I'm quite surprised how much I like it so far.

Right! I went with really low expectations, just to test it, after not enjoying Justice Monsters at all, but then it was already night time in-game, and that really surprised me.

Prompto asked me if I have no empathy. Not sure if because I made them stand there for so long or because of all the fish I'm murdering.

I really hope I don't get bored later on, so far this has been one of the best open world experiences I had.

Oh yeah: If you get put into danger status with big monster corpses around you, your team mates can't get to you to help you. It's use an item or you're fucked.

And the camera in areas full of trees is horrendous.

As much as I initially loved the combat, it really shows it's worth against high level bosses. Your team can't dodge boss attacks, and all three teammates get almost insta-KO'd. I'm having to chug potions incessantly, and it's rather ruining what I've enjoyed of the game so far.

Almost no finesse on the players behalf can alleviate the poor teammate design. Trying to use ability invincibility frames doesn't even work, as your meter doesn't fill up fast enough to used for the bosses next insta-KO attack.

The funny part is, this boss in particular only does his attack in a small radius around him, so I can safely get away, yet my AI party members just sit there wailing at him like morons. I have no ability to even shout an order to run away.

It was pretty nice going all FF Gear Solid on that base to get the regalia back. But how many more times are we gonna have to take down bases? I don't want to just do that back to back to back.
Otherwise, still liking it so far.

Hmmm... so you guys wanna be able to drive wild and off the road? I see. But you might as well get a Chocobo or just start running if you wanna do that.

!!!!!!

Oh... you guys are prolly saying the car feels so stiff....

I would like to be able to actually drive the car in this game about a road trip, yes.

Regis had full control of the ring/was stronger, I guess.

But Regis's advisors and companions who were close to him didn't seem to be able to teleport. And they mention something about Kingsglaive being different and they were only useful because they were able to use his magic or something. But it's all left completely unexplained lol.

That's how I'm feeling as well. The combat was great when I didn't really have to worry about them. But when you're fighting a much more challenging boss you really have to hope they don't go and try to get themselves killed, or just make them chug healing items (and watch the tiresome animation each time).

Jesus fucking Christ atleast 8 hunt levels ,why does this grind exist
Does the hunt level even serve a gameplay purpose aside from unlocking more hunts? I'm only like, level 5, but having to go back and forth is really boring and takes forever.

I only need to finish leveling up Fishing and Cooking for the Platinum trophy, now.

This is in large part the reason why I don't think the combat is all that great. When it works it's fun and good, but it gets broken way too easily, and it doesn't always gel very well with the encounter design.

Has anyone encountered a bug where their weapons keep automatically switching?

EDIT: I'm a complete idiot, I equipped an accessory called "Auto-Changer". It auto-switches your weapons, but gives an insane stat boost.

Nah. No repetition here.

It's probably a lot more boring if you don't do any of that during your first playthrough, and leave it all for post game. Because the way hunts are unlocked as you visit more outposts is very natural in progression.

What is this game's problem with dropping these goddamn platoons of enemies on top of you while you're already engaged with difficult enem(also the enemies are always like double your level). I just don't understand. This was an issue in the original demo. It wouldn't be as bad if these soldiers weren't twice my level and 2-3 shot me and my squad with their guns

This was fine-ish for a little while. There was a time when I could take these guys. I'd even wait for them to land so I could woop on them and get some exp. Then at some random point, they all got high-powered sniper rifles and I couldn't even get close without them sending everyone in my party into danger within seconds.
