I've heard some hilarious things when it comes to bugs so far. Unfortunately (or fortunately?) I haven't had the experience. Mine has been a pretty polished one so far. Worst i've had it was a super long loading screen that wouldn't press foward when hitting X after resting.

What banter? Unless my game is bugged for the first 20 hours my characters said the same like 3 or 4 lines to each other while walking around.

I'm over 20 hours in so far and if it weren't for brotherhood I'd have not a goddamned clue who these people were.

Going to certain camps and camping for the night unlocks dialog, but it's only at specific camps when you unlock something. So try camping even if it's still early, the game tries and hints that you should be camping more then you think you should. You get so many food items because they want you to periodically camp. And with the camping skills you get 1 AP guaranteed to camp to begin with, so it's worth the investment imo. I played for 20 hours and it's finally hitting me that I need to camp more.

The game does a lousy job explaining what to do, mostly because it's trying to keep things up to you on what you want to do.

Is 150 really the limit for Promptos camera? No way to increase it? Because it's really annoying having to delete photos. Like why even have a limit? I could take hundreds of screenshots using the share button if I wanted to but I can't with Prompto. His photos are cool and unique too so it's pretty lame having a limit :/

I don't need some super involved cutscenes. I do need something better directed and cut, though. And much more interaction with my party.

The party interaction is just simply something I cannot say is lacking.

Also wtf is up with these spoilers guys? Tag your shit please.

i've had all the ap abilities and have done most of the side quests throughout each chapter. i'm at the end game now and just got my first 333 ability. i can't see one 999 ability being feasible without a lot of grinding let alone multiple

On the bright side all you have to is catch 700 to 999 fish and you set to go for one LMAO.

Does this game have a bestiary by any chance?
It would be good to know when going on hunts if I should worry about poison or other status affects.

Is there a way to toggle lock on in combat between hold and one press? Having to hold, then press another button to keep the lock on (which is the same fucking button as pulling up the world map) is pretty annoying during intense combat...

(Ch 6 Sidequest)
Bandersnatch looked fierce, but was a pussycat. One Quintcast and then double stagger. I also completely forget to ever use the L1+R1 super mode.

Go to Cindy and you should see a bunch of colors with the required color ore to unlock it.

How do you get Ore?

All I find are "shards" which say you can mix them with others to create new colors.

I have a ton of different color shards but 0 ore.

Ending spoiler question.
So Noctis and Luna are some sort of astrals kind of like Gentiana or something? Is that already predefined via the dogs? Kind of wish some more of what was going on there was explained.

Anyone else heard anything about not being able to sprint with your chocobo? I'm only in chapter three so I'm afraid to look it up on my own in fear of spoilers. It's some bug I've run into where I can no longer sprint while riding no matter the terrain I'm on, and my save is stuck like that. Don't know what caused it. I tried restarting the console, taking the game out, letting my chocobo rental period run out, feeding it different greens, doing a race. Nothing has worked. It's really hampering my enjoyment of riding those beautiful beasts D;

The story is intentionally backseat because the premise is that you're practically on the run and are hearing information from secondhand sources. The characters are deliberately left in the dark about what's going on, and this plays into the actual game design; the story isn't at the forefront, but you're set loose after an established premise so that you can play at your own pace. What you're saying seems to be that because the crazier story events don't begin until much later that there's "absolutely" nothing going on, and I don't think that's true. Noctis is also out in the world visiting the tombs for his powers which I'm sure will play into how the story unfolds later.
Yeah, that tension is just heart-pumping as I'm on the run, back-tracking back and forth across a map doing groceries for shopkeepers.

It's like the problem in TW3 where the narrative was often divergent from the amount of side-content you could do, just magnified even more.

Caved and opened my copy.

Very very frustrated with the combat (especially phasing) . I can barely tell what's happening on the screen and never find phasing to be intuitive unless I tell myself "hold square for a while so you can do it". Anyone have tips? Yes I did the tutorial btw.

Also, I don't know if I'm playing the overall game right. I did some monster hunts and I saw nothing else to do except get in the regalia and go to the "errand" quest. Got stopped by a big monster which I was able to beat.but I'm starting to wonder if I am doing it right.

I want to go from about level 45 to 52ish. Any good ways of doing this in chapter 14?

I suppose if you don't listen to banter between the characters or pick up on the subtle story telling via the world, that might be true. It's really about the crew before huge story bits start to really get going. I was totally into it and not bored at all. I can see why others wouldn't enjoy it though.

Yep, this is on point: the environmental storytelling and subtle bits of lore here and there is far less in your face than all previous FF iterations, but it's the world that tells the story, not massive cutscenes this time around.

I do think they should have included Kingsglaive with the game however, along with Brotherhood it makes the game a LOT more enjoyable/in context. I know you shouldn't have to watch outside media to enjoy a game, but I feel in this case, you owe it to yourself to do so...kind of like reading the Witcher novels: makes the game that much better.

The cup noodle advertising in this game is strong.
They sold me on it.

Those who are tired of car travel, please don't choose the option to travel to a quest location via car. Simply fast travel to the nearest checkpoint of the quest. The best way to do it is by selecting the map point option and then going to the quest marker, or near it.

Suddenly craving some noodles in a cup while lounging in a Coleman chair listening to Florence and the Machine on my Beats while my buds chill in our Audi.

The story problems are really too bad, because I am enjoying the gameplay. Despite the fact that I sometimes seem to have trouble with making sense of what is going on in cramped spaces, the dungeons are really fun and the conversations the characters have throughout the dungeons go a long way in making them great. It feels like what early games envisioned as "dungeons" are being realized in this game. Who knew caves could be so fun.

The monsters in XV are fucking ace. From the designs to the moveset to the very little reliance on reuse. Top of the line shit here.

I'm still having a blast with this. 15 hours in and doing sidequests in chapter 3.

Okay, GAF. I've been playing Justice Monsters Five for the last two hours.

1. Does this game ever end?
2. How do you activate the special shots? The burst / climb / pierce that are referenced in the instructions.

Sorry sir I guess I should have said that your team is trying to stay on the down low, which is correct. I don't recall saying a thing about heart pumping tension.

Did my first dugeon crawl and came up against a level 65 boss. My ass was promptly handed to me. 😔

I think it's important to note as in pretty much any open world game with some sense of urgency that the shit you can on the side should be considered "non-canon" so to speak.

This is...not a good game.

I'm trying...really trying to find any redeeming qualities. I can't.

The combat is still bad. Neither a good action game nor a good strategic game. It took FF XII's battle system and made it far, far worse.

Just got to Chapter 3. I'm going to try to continue but there's nothing really pulling me forward. The story is a bore. The characters are a bore. The combat is a bore. The exploration is a bore. The landscape is a bore. The novelty of the open world has worn off. The seems are coming apart and all that's left is mediocrity.

Yeah, stuff like this happens in pretty much every RPG, whether it's western or Japanese. I love doing all the optional stuff whenever I want a break from the story quests.

I refuse to accept any conversation with Dino as non-cannon

About to start chapter 9

Them staying low really confused me in the game. You'd think they'd be staying low, but I can't think of a single thing they do to try and stay low profile. They go right into towns no problem, never attempt to hide their faces or keep Noctis hidden. Funnily enough, this helped remove any tension that the game should have had.

Disagree in every aspect. You should just stop now as you'll only hate it more.

I just went from level 10 to level 25 from one Bandersnatch kill before heading to chapter 2. Stayed at the hotel for a 2x XP boost after cashing in.

4x Debased Coins crafted with 99x Fire for Level 16 Expericast. I also ate a meal for a 20% Experience Boost.

You can farm for Rare or Debased Coins for XP bonuses added to your Magic at blue nodes. Save before a blue treasure node and if you don't get a coin, load up the save until you do.

You can definitely break this game's leveling system really easily.

Chapter 13 boss help required:
How the fuck do I do any decent damage to Ravus? I'm only level 35 and am thinking I may be underleveled for this one as he's kicking my ass up and down the hangar.

I did better once I left my dumbass teammates dead. There is no battle to better show off their terrible AI than that one. Don't be afraid to put combat to easy also. He has a ton of HP.

For some reason, I did really well if I let Prompto and Ignis die. Then I just cheesed it by getting link attacks with Gladio from behind Ravus.

The problem is that going on hunts and side-quests with the bros and the subsequent camping are more or less essential to the characterization of them.

Has anyone tried the Ultimate Weapons quest from the Lestallum quest giver? I have done around 3 of them so far and they are tough as fuck.

The latest one requires around level 85 while the last one was for level 65. I attempted that at level 67 and it was with 2x level 75 Sir Tonberry, who essentially act like a Yoda that can OHK us. I can't imagine how challenging this level 85 fight will turn out to be.
