Whoever designed this room with the multiplying thunder bombs should be fired immediately.

Any advice on this one, if you're out of Blizzard magic?

My game just crashed after an hour of progress. Great.

Be careful not to use magic to cause multiple explosions. That seems to crash the game. Happened to me twice now. Game seemingly struggles with tons of particle effects at once or something.

Because Nomura was no longer on the project, neither was Nojima, and presumably because what Nomura wanted was very grand and ambitious, but the higher ups at SE were not going to sign off on it for a numbered FF15 after the troubles with the franchise previously.

So Nomura and his core staff get ejected from the project and Tabata gets promoted with the expectation that the release date will be late 2016 and there is no room for discussion on that.

So begins Tabata's break neck attempt to rewrite the entire game, characters and scenario to push something out as quickly as he could in the time allotted, even cutting out huge swaths of what was supposed to originally be in the game in movies, anime and other external material just to save on time and costs.

And even then, at the end he only got a portion of what he wanted to get into the game himself.

Well, have to give it to Tabata for working with what he had to.

Don't think that solved it. Been like it since (chap 6 spoilers) the
forest
dungeon on the way to
caem

Are you in the car? Press R1 to change the camera position and zoom, it might be that. Sometimes it remains zoomed in even if you leave the Regalia.

Yeah, i keep saying that i never was going to be envious of the pressure Tabata was under to produce SOMETHING, no matter how compromised it was, just because its an unwinnable situation.

The fact that the game turned out as good as it did in the end really to me is just a testament to the strengths of many of the underlying base concepts that could have shined infinitely brighter in more favorable circumstances.

I say this for Nomura's Versus 13/15 as well as Tabata's own FF15.

So, outside the four protagonists, not one major character in this game is going to be developed huh.

I'm on Chapter 13, so you might know who I'm referring to.
The lovely Aranea managed to have her own arc as a character, even if it wasn't that expanded on.

I don't understand some of the hate for the game here.

I don't think the narrative is that bad and the world building has been pretty awesome.

Still loving the combat system. It's the reason why I still like doing all the side content.
The game never setup any of these characters for me. They're just... Here. I'm not interested in any of them, and their physical appearance certainly doesn't help. Lead member of a boy band or some shit. Writing and voice acting suck. Random clips from a movie I haven't seen start playing without context. Badass soundtrack kicks in, but doesn't feel at all like it's matching what's happening in-game.

Also don't like the combat because it feels very automated. More recently, whenever I'm in combat, I feel like the damage I take is just some arbitrary unavoidable damage. Nothing's hitting me, I'm just dying. Even coming from something that's got combat hated as much as The Witcher 3's for example, I absolutely cannot stand it in this game. Trying to aim for areas to warp up to in order to restore MP feels incredibly clunky, and doesn't really make sense to me as a game mechanic. And I've complained about it before, but not being able to sword warp out of combat is a dumb limitation, no matter the dev's reasoning. There's also just not enough combat period. I've spent 90% of the game watching Ignis drive a car.

The game's combat feels worse than just standard turn-based FF combat, and I'm not even a fan of that. But at least in turn-based combat, I'm dying to RNG or something, rather than Noct just deciding to start taking damage just for being near an enemy.

Anyone? Have been farming for 2-3 hours now and still no luck.

I made a save just outside the yellow zone and would break their horns and run if it didn't drop, to reload, was really easy to break their horns using the
Sword of The Wise
, and a lot faster than killing them all.

I'll say that after completing the game, I think I'd place it on the lower end of my list of favourite Final Fantasy games.

In a word? Disappointed. I speak not of someone that was hyped up. It was off my radar right up until release, and I went in with an open mind.

I had more fun with, and more time spent playing World of Final Fantasy than XV.

I honestly can't really find a suitable use for Royal Weapons beside the fact that some give good stat boosts. I got the Shuriken and been trying out and it's seriously awesome but the HP Drain for say a warp strike is insane. The only way i can see them being fully feasible is to play a constant hit and run to warp points, but that seems pretty slow and I'm sure the DPS of using regular weapons would be far better.

I have a save just outside the zone, too. Don't have the thing in spoilers and not all ingredients for the rice that boosts drop rates.

Wait, what the hell? That's the issue I'm running into? The royal weapon I'm using just arbitrarily depletes your HP while you're using it? What in the fuck is this, and why isn't it mentioned at any point in the game?

You haven't being paying attention at all.

Again, the game very clearly tells you that Royal Arms take away HP while being used.

Finally completed this optional dungeon. Hardest thing I've done yet.

Could someone tell me the earliest I'll be able to get to the 3x hotel, and if there's any forced resting before then?

I find it nice for stuff like Flans, as they have a lot of resistances. Also the shuriken in particular is a decent mid-range weapon, which is actually somewhat handy against really strong bosses that you have no business getting close to.

I'm pretty certain when you obtain the first one a little pop-up tells you they drain HP. Just equipping them won't but any attack does. Like I said I could see some used for them but on the whole the HP Drain seems way too strenuous.

I rarely find the need for Armiger either and when I do use it I'm not very impressed. The best damage dealing I've found is magic or link/blindside co-op strikes.

Why's there a level 36 near an area with level 7 quests? What's with the enemy placement in this world?

How does manually saving work? Normally, I'd keep like one save slot, and just keep overwriting it, but they won't let me. I can only save to an empty save slot, and the game still feels the need to warn me I'm overwriting a save, even though that's not what I'm doing.

I didn't see this notification, and not informing the player in the weapon's description or some sort of screen after a single notification that's easily missed is kind of dumb.

Man I'm looking for a stupid amethyst and I can't even look for it because I kept getting ambushed by
imperials
. Over and over. I kill them and in a minute there they are again lol

You will need to watch the anime and movie to really get any understanding of the world and plot. It sucks, but If you want the full experience, just watch them.

I don't know how your taking random damage. I always an able to tell what hit me.

I think this is the most engaging combat because you always need to be aware of event locations and warp locations. Just hold dodge and get your bearings then decide your next move. You are able to warp out of combat, just warp to the edge of the combat zone and run it of it.

Point warping is as simple as facing your camera in the general direction of the warp point and hold triangle, the point doesn't even really have to be on the screen some times, you just need to see the warp point symbol.

It really seems like you just need to experiment more, with how you are approaching combat.

I posted my full post-game thoughts in the Spoiler Thread, but I'll just repost part here:

Chapter 6:
Jared?

Haha. My thoughts exactly.

Maybe was my fault to spending almost 2 weeks leveling in Duscae and doing sidequests in chapter 3, but i see i'm not the only one. Who the hell was that guy?

This is mentioned by Cor when you get the first weapon...

LOL, I was just reading some topics from various forums and people asked "what if Nomura fully directed Final Fantasy XV?"

Plot threads would be poorly explained

Lots of vague dialogue

Would have to play 4 other games on iOS/Android and 3DS, plus read the Japan-only Ultimania to actually understand the plot

This game also wouldn't be called FFXV, it would be called "Aeternal Knightsglaive: FINAL FANTASY XV ~Noctis' Reminiscence~ 0.358 (DRiVe)"

Omnia Lute Peara: FINAL FANTASY {Etro's XV Memoria} 3.12 x 3 (You Will NOcT Awake) Episode -0 / 15 Reverse Story.

Might have been spot-on, hahaha.

Legit lol'D when Prompto had the "Bustabase" conversation. The delivery when he first realizes the phrase "...!...bustabase." was perfect.

I wonder if the developers are The Big Hit fans.

I think one of my sidequests bugged out. I'm trying to complete the quest "Almost Out of Hope," where you have to rescue someone who's calling for help. The quest area is a large, wooded area, and I've run around it for about 20 minutes, nobody to save. I've killed all the enemies multiple times, still no person. Anyone else had this problem?

Okay I figured it out, rescue quests can't be completed if you have an active hunt. Hope this helps anyone else stuck in them.

With 3:40 hours played, I am still in Chapter 1 and is lvl 7. I'm enjoying it, and going for a lvl 8 hunt next.

So if I don't want to apply the EXP I have accumulated, I'll have to stay awake the entire night and not camp or sleep at a motel?

So, I just got the first two Royal Arms. Am I supposed to be using these things? HP depletion and no Vitality stat seems risky. They give Noct major stat boosts when equipped, though.

Prompto might be one of the best Final Fantasy characters ever. To think that I truly despised his Versus design and loathed the Nomura XV redesign.

Also, I can't stop laughing at Gentiana (up to chapter 6 spoilers)
turning out to be just a Japanese ghost girl trope in the end. The white skin, long black hair, eyes shut and then appearing in random pics Prompto takes... lol And we thought she would end up being Leviathan/Shiva

Yes. Keep in mind this very minor spoiler
at the end of a chapter you are forced to sleep

So you can use that knowledge to your advantage.

i enjoyed chapter 13 a lot.
gave me SMT/old school vibes, especially the part where you get to the top and fall down. it's supposed to be a test of stamina. maybe some of you guys are past collecting keycards and checking maps but it was a refreshing change of pace for me and i was happy to finally get my teeth into a real meaty dungeon, the likes of which you don't see in a big mainstream title anymore.

Can't stand Chapter 13 anymore.

I just got clearance level 6.
Is it close to the end? This place will haunt my dreams lol

I'd advise against using them. Like at best, maybe keep the Axe one or something for warp-strikes if you want. But yea, up to you.

So, did anyone else mention that if you aim the camera just right you can see inside the pants of the npc's that wear jeans and they don't wear any underwear? You can see their butts but pretty sure there's no other details down there.

Papercuts

fired zero bullets in the orphanage.
It is honestly pretty dumb that the HP depletion for royal arms isn't mentioned in any of the weapons. One of the many weird oversights the game has.

Not done with the chapter yet but I'm slightly ahead of you and I think we're getting there.

Cool, thanks.

All I'll say is keep playing.

You're wrong. But when the time comes, you'll wish you were right. lol
