So I ran into a glitch in Chapter 9 that forced me to reset...

When I beat Leviathan, the cut scene did not trigger. Leviathan was just laying on the top of the ocean, motionless. My latest save was right before talking to the secretary. UGH, that was so frustrating. I hope it doesn't happen again..

Anyone else love cruising in the Regalia listing to classic FF soundtracks and going on fishing trips. Also how do I use the mp3 player?

Dont stress. I got it a week early, at 40 hours, lvl 50. Chapter 10 and lots more content to go! Wife hasn't seen me put this much time into a game in a short period since Bloodborne.

Doesn't help that I'm constantly wandering around checkinh everything out either, lol.

It's easy to just get lost doing random quests and using up all the game time, lol.

I'm only on chapter 5. But I must say the amount of small details in this game is astounding. Everything from the animations while in the car to the expressions on there face in different moments is just all too good.

Just finished the game at ~48 hours (take a couple off from the game being paused or on menus).

I have mixed feelings about it, I really loved some parts of it (as you can see from my early posts about the game), but it just feels like the story had potential to be so much better but they never got it together. It doesn't help that Chapter 10-13 (specially 13) really soured me on the game. I liked the ending at least.

Another thing I hated was that most of the main story stuff felt way too easy. I never got a game over screen. I never even had to worry about monster weaknesses or magic cause Noctis is just too good at avoiding damage, and you can just spam healing items non stop.

Just finished the game.

What the fuck. One of the most disappointing games I have ever played. I feel like I played different game compared to a number of people. I don't think this game was good at all. Story was a joke. The gameplay was serviceable at best. The world wasn't that interesting to explore at all. The only good things I can say about the game is the music and ending was strong but that's about it.

If this is what SE is going to shit out this series is finished in my eyes. Putting that hack Tabata on this game cemented its fate.

I don't think either Toriyama nor Habata are strong enough overall directors to handle the franchise. Bring back the director of Final Fantasy IX, his whereabouts have been unknown since he finished XII after Matsuno had a breakdown :(

I just can't believe how many hours I've put into this game without even realizing it. I haven't played any game this much in quite awhile. I highly enjoy it.

I just did costlemark and what the hell was that. Why would you put a small square arena and plop down atleast 10 thunderbombs on your head...the combat system couldn't even handle whatever the hell that was and the camera just straight up gave up.

Hm I often times get bored of open world games like GTA and The Witcher 3.
Then this might not be the game for you. However, you can strictly focus on the main story missions and linear dungeons but you'll be missing some side stuff like unique monsters and items.

Whenever you see bombs, equip a 3rd tier spell or activate your armiger and destroy them ASAP.

Chapter 13 bored me to tears. Definitely not good.
Shitty old horror game wannabe. Jump scares, hiding and keycards? I never hid tho. Killed everything! Fuck those guys.
What year is it!

So I'm back. I'm in the final chapter and I think I'm underleveled. Getting wrecked by some enemies there. Guess I'll grind.

Just finished the fight with Aranea. Please tell me there are more of these crazy fights where you're warping all over the place in the air, that was crazy fun.

That was crazy fun indeed but also camera was crazy.

And I wasn't sure how to trigger the DBZ-like fight sequence in the air.

On that subject, can you re-fight boss battles?

Midair battle? I had none of that lol. She just fought me on the ground just now and occasionally leaped into the air to Jump me.

You should be fine around level 40-45,
the enemy packs out there are more difficult/annoying than whats left story wise, and you can skip most of them too.

I'm early 40's and having a tough time finding that path to skip the enemies. Keep getting blocked in or knocked into danger mode from a single hit. Pretty aggravating.

Phew. Finally chapter 8.

Going to take it easy and do some side quests to save up on Gil. Being broke didn't help but managed to use just one elixer for the party on chapter 7.

I just did a side quest where it's 8 monsters at level 12 (I'm lvl 32 and it took forever. Sometimes I feel my teammates ain't doing jack but stand around and talk.

There's also a level 72 around there that one shots, I don't think they meant for anyone even near the 40s and 50s to kill that thing. What I did was just spam triangle forward to skip the the enemies. I was 48 when I finished the game and I could kill the packs but it took way too long and way too many potions to do them. You should be fine for the end of the game at 45 or maybe even a bit lower as long as you brought enough potions and elixirs. At 48 the end stuff felt easy, but I did use quite a bit of consumables.

Wait. So did you kill all those guys there or skipped them?

I killed some at the start of that area, skipped like the later half of them.
There's like a spider thing after that big level 72 monster, I killed that but it was annoying so I skipped everything after her. And there are some you can't skip I think. Definitely the front of the citadel can't be skipped.

Just finished chapter 9. It's hilarious how they cram all this story in when you have literally no idea what's going on with these characters.

Maybe if I spent SOME time with Luna I would've felt differently, but god.

This game is going from mediocre to bad real fast.

I got trapped down in that huge spawn room 6 times. I thought I was going to go insane.

Alright, I'll give it another shot or just grind until I'm higher lvl. Kinda wanna do more sidequests anyway.

I got this game for $20 and all these impressions have me second guessing lol. It'll be my first FF by the way so I'm guessing it can only go up after this.

Bow of the clever + Overwhelm is just completely broken. 40 hits of 9999 damage with Iggys limit break node every time I use it.

Am I supposed to be receiving an absurd amount of damage from enemies? I'm on chapter 7 and exploring the Malmalam Thicket at level 32 and I'm being two-shot by everything.

How are you guys getting AP? Farming them with the summoning whistle? I'm on chapter 7 or 8 and I farm every now and then for AP in Hammerhead.

That story announcement has me in serious buyers remorse. What a joke. Just wanted to stop by to thank everyone here for the discussion, even if we had different opinions on the game I enjoyed this thread and everyone. I'll trade in the game and come back when they actually finish it though

Just finished Castlemark Tower. It was kinda tedious but I'm glad the enemies put up a fight. I'm lvl 67 in chapter 8 atm.
