Forza 5 Showroom | New cars and details for Forza 5, ongoing reveals

For sure.
I have a great open setup but I find that a pair of Sennheisers pick up a lot more detail.

I have a good AV 7.1 setup too. But yes - I've noticed more detail in Forza using headphones. I bought a Turtle Beach virtual surround dongle this week - the DSS2 - and was amazed to hear all manner of environment sounds at Bernese Alps in FM4.

so, assuming all rumors are true FM5 is getting these either new or significantly updated tracks:

Entirely new
  • Prague (confirmed)
  • Spa Francorchamps (confirmed)
  • Bathurst (confirmed)
  • Long Beach Grand Prix Circuit (SmartGeometrics laser scanned the track)
  • Yas Island Marina Circuit (SmartGeometrics laser scanned the track)
  • Pacific Raceways (SmartGeometrics laser scanned the track)
  • Autodromo Nazionale Monza (laser scanned by someone who said they were working on Microsoft's next gen racer)
  • Lime Rock Park (laser scanned by someone who said they were working on Microsoft's next gen racer)
  • Circuit of the Americas (BADNED might or might NOT have hinted at something)

I don't know, if FM5 had that many new tracks wouldn't T10 be screaming about it from the rooftops by now ?

I' d like Pacific Heights while listening Let's get it on tonight on the radio ...

FM4 had that feature already. Once you gutted the interior, the cabin became louder.
However, because now the stock cockpit filters have been reworked, that same effect should be even more noticeable..
Never noticed. I only ever played it on a small TV though. At home I have a better set up.
For sure.

Yes, my 280 HD's say hello. =P

unfortunately, i think no sound setup can match a decent pair of headphones.for games.

I have a high end (audiophile even) sound system, but i think you need to go much louder than your neighbours would like to pick all the detail.

What we know is

the same company T10 hired to laser scan Silverstone, Bathurst and Prague also scanned Abu Dhabi (and LaSarthe, Long Beach etc).

Monza has been laser scanned by Microsoft, that much is confirmed.by Monza Circuit's official page.
"5th-6th june, 2012 - Microsoft mapping the track."

Whether it is for FM5, DLC or FM6, that remains to be seen, but i just noticed it says june 2012 (thought it was june 2013) i doubt they are going to sit on those data for 3 years.

*Also same company (SmartGeometrics) as previously mentioned. The Monzarace.tv website had a video of them scanning, but surprise, it got pulled from their site.

What's the chance of some new media this week?

Cars don't count.

BADNET said that? Without any cryptic Da Vinci Code riddle wrapped in a mystery inside an enigma? Cool beans. Can't wait to see a new track.

Actually, BANDIT's words were 'next [track reveal] is not too far off'.
That was 10 days ago

I hope they release lots of new tracks, Forza needs this kind of update (and keeping almost all the actual tracks of Forza 4)

I hope they truly remove all Aussie cars from this game in hopes that Saladine will quit playing and go back to Littlest Pet Shop.

Fucking blasphemy that comes from that man's mouth.

Went to go see the Gravity movie and prior to the showing they ran the Forza Video clip that they filmed not long ago. Thought it was interesting to see that in a movie theatre.

Any surprises on this special occasion Turn 10?

Complete Group A touring car list and liveries from the late '80s, early '90s that competed at Bathurst, totally playable at the race and demonstrated by Allan Grice and Dick Johnson.

I think there would even be some Mustangs in there.

Yeah, I loved that era, but a lot of people don't. I'll be happy if I can lap a Sierra Cosworth around with similar spec to Tricky Dickie's.

It was the time when the racing was fun and exciting to watch primarily because of the variety of cars. I know a lot of people love the Ford vs Holden rivalry that ensued therafter, due to the GTR of course, but I didn't really like it that much to be honest.
It's good to finally see other manufactures in the mix..

Anyway, Turn 10, you have plenty to choose from:

until new media arises, here's an older video I found, where the guy playing is more interested in looking at the roadside graphics that actually racing.
he goes as slow as 10km/h and even stops so he can see better the surroundings :D

www.youtube.com/watch?v=LCOLB6kw9m8&hd=1

god prague looks so good. shame the video cuts off half way through the lap rather then the entire thing.

new cars in 20! hope we get a track today as well.

What is it with Forza and the cars always looking like plastic... I can't put my finger on it
I think the reflections are a tiny bit over-stylised, the atmospshere, environments as well.

Too much polishing, perfect detail in every spot.

I think they are trying to make the game look cool, and some of it is also to please pixel detectives and graphic whores. What you end up with is this ultra attempt at realism that ends up looking too perfect, alas fake.

I think it needs to loosen up a bit, even the cars movement on the road looks planned and calculated. The trick is to create the perception of realism without trying to emulate it, to me the imperfection and non-linearity are what creates the realism. IMO!! That is why GTAV is its crude depiction, actually looks real for a video game (bad comparison in order to make my point).
