As much as I am looking forward to this, I just can't see myself paying £16 for it, take out American tax and we're still paying over a £1 more that's without the US discount at launch. N++ had a universal discount
Wait, then why did US customers have to blind-buy it to get the discount?
Decided to download the game again since I was paranoid that I somehow grabbed the preview build when I preloaded.
14 hours left. No matter how many times I pause and unpause.
God I fucking hate PSN.
Up to 4-4, go back to title screen and the game crashes. Boot it back up and now my progress is lost for the season. I'm loving the gameplay and mechanics but the framerate and technical hiccups are a serious bummer.
Losing progress is so infuriating.

Awesome! I'll be buying this tomorrow then. Thanks.
Downloads are way faster in rest mode for me. With the PS4 fully on the download estimate was 4 hours. In rest mode it took 20 minutes.Decided to download the game again since I was paranoid that I somehow grabbed the preview build when I preloaded.

Redownloaded and still hit an endless black screen. Game is totally unplayable for me
Weird. Have you had similar difficulties with downloadable games in the past?Redownloaded and still hit an endless black screen. Game is totally unplayable for me
Did you try rebuilding your HDD database?
Nope, never. The game starts up to the logo and then endless black.Weird. Have you had similar difficulties with downloadable games in the past?
You've got to boot into safe mode.I was looking for that option next. Where is it?

Looking at the trophy data it appears getting to 3-1 is a pretty big hurdle.Surprised more reviews haven't dropped by now. Wonder if reviewers are having a hard time blasting through the game in such a short time frame given its difficulty curve?
Or is everyone just preoccupied by Gamescom?

I've been working on getting past 2-5 since yesterday evening :/

I'm at 2-3 now and I don't think I've experienced a similar level of finger cramping since Kid Icarus: Uprising. I try to use index on R1 and middle on R2 to be most efficient in combat, but it can be a real strain with how stressful individual encounters can be.
Do you need to be on both boost and normal thrust at the same time though? I find boost + brake/reverse + inertia is more than enough to get around. I only use the normal thrust for those really tight areas with environmental hazards.

This game is going to take some getting used to but I like what I've played so far.
While I'm usually just boosting outside of combat, I find myself trying to be extra careful because of the hazards and wanting to keep a good distance from enemies. I try to get the jump on them whenever I can, so having fingers on boost, thrust, and reverse has worked out well enough so far.
Still trying to get the hang of sliding though. It feels very squirrely.
Bit too much for my old brain and fingers, too many buttons and too much on screen!
Still can't get past season 1.....
My biggest problem with the controls is I've been playing a lot of Rocket League, and the controls are just close enough that they throw me off switching between the two games. RL made me forget not everyone allows you to customize controls on consoles. Can't believe that's not a standard already. I might have to change my setup in that game just so it synergizes better with Galak-Z.
But if you're using R1 you don't need R2. That's why it's smart that they placed the buttons the way they did
If you really had to you could rebind the buttons on ps4.
Because SCEA and SCEE are seperately managed and they each do their own shit and apparently don't have email or telephones to coordinate
i.e. everything that is wrong with PSN
at least you got a dank theme
Galak-Z is the very definition of awesome. Playing it makes me feel like the badass intergalactic pilot I always dreamed of being as a kid, and I love it even more because it makes me work for that ecstasy. No battle is scripted, nothing is choreographed my skills do all the talking. 17-Bits physics-based space roguelike is a truly special experience on PS4, one that has the potential to become the flagship indie title on a platform bursting with incredible creations. It rewards patience, skill and creativity, and absolutely deserves your time regardless of your relationship with 80s anime or 2D shooters.
