Ellaria and the Sand Snakes killing Doran and Trystane to avenge Oberyn and his sister.
Doran was such a waste. I can't believe they wasted someone like Alexander Siddig on him.

The sandsnakes barely ever mention Elia Martell. Oberyn was never this bloodthirsty. Would he have wanted Elaria to kill Myrcella? And then his brother? And his nephew?Ellaria and the Sand Snakes killing Doran and Trystane to avenge Oberyn and his sister.
The character was nice, for however long he lasted. Blame the writers for ruining Dorne.Doran was such a waste. I can't believe they wasted someone like Alexander Siddig on him.

Yeah. I kinda meant by proxy since Oberyn wanted that revenge. The sandsnakes barely ever mention Elia Martell. Oberyn was never this bloodthirsty. Would he have wanted Elaria to kill Myrcella? And then his brother? And his nephew?
He was planned to have more screentime, but everyone hated Dorne.Doran was such a waste. I can't believe they wasted someone like Alexander Siddig on him.
I'm pretty sure he would have wanted revenge against the people that killed Doran and Trystane.

That's the point. Dany had an army of dothraki in the first season and was ready to head to Westeros once she acquired some ships. Then Khal Drogo, fiercest of warriors gets wounded and gets sepsis for christs sake. Euron leaps onto a ship, gets wounded multiple times by warriors who poison their weapons and .... Well we will see, but the chances of dying from sepsis, 0%. Ramsey taking on multiple armored men while stripped to the waist - fine. Dragon surrounded by guys with pointy sticks, wounded and has to flee. The proactive players get shit done the most. Lets look at Jon since he died. Was literally fucking revived from the dead. Got the wild lings all to fight for him, went to fight a cunt. Did the dumbest thing ever and instead of getting killed, survived. Got help from the Vale, killed the cunt, his army and became the King of Northing unifying all the North and getting the Vale as a strong ally. Got his sister back. That's all in one season.
Might become an ally with a queen that has 3 dragons and the strongest army in the world atm. Robb and Ned fucked up big time and paid for it. Where has Euron fucked up? Dany has been pissing about for 6 seasons, what do you want us to do?
Missandei's actress is absolutely stunning, but that scene went on needlessly long. Particularly as it was largely needless in the first place. Seemed more of just a reminder that they haven't forgotten about throwing in some T&A.
Euron is a late addition and so hasn't been sufficiently developed. His character seems quite shallow, and that isn't helped by the magic replacement fleet.
The show writers definitely aren't up to carrying on the writing of the books, and it shows.
The spectacles of the show are still fun to watch at least. Waiting for the white walkers to kill everyone.
Doran was such a waste. I can't believe they wasted someone like Alexander Siddig on him.
Indira Varma was also a lot better as Niobe in Rome. Her character in GOT just sucks so much.
how different would everyone's reaction of her be if she declared war on the Lannisters/crown while holding Myrcella as a ward prisoner like the Starks did with Theon
instead of poisoning her to death
I feel like they missed an opportunity to properly develop her character in season 4. Too much time spent hanging out with Oberyn in the brothel. When they did finally start to expand on Dorne and the sand snakes in season 5, it all felt so rushed.
I think it was a great idea on paper. Just WAY too long. The only thing I thought was dumb was Euron finding the exact boat he needed to in a billion. I've heard the BS reasons how...it is still dumb. That episode was so stupid... sighh
The grey worm scene was just about the worst thing I've seen in GOT.
I felt like i was watching some kinda Olivia Pope - Fitz Type Scandal Shit...
Doran was such a waste. I can't believe they wasted someone like Alexander Siddig on him.
Exactly, there's zero reason for Jaime to kill Cersei right now. Yeah, he was shocked and disturbed by her using wildfire, but that's not enough to literally give it all to Dany.

Not that it matters too heavily, but Jaime killed the mad king because he ordered Jaime to kill his own father, basically. Or am I mis-remembering? I thought that was the piece that put him over.He killed the mad king for threatening to use wild fire on the city.
Cersei used wild fire on the city.
The show writers keep hinting that they'll further Jaimies character arc and have him actually move on from Cersei but never follow through.
Did anyone else find the directing in this episode sort of...different? I don't know if it's a director they haven't used before or what, but something seemed a bit odd to me. Not necessarily bad, but in particular during the action sequences on the ship, it had a different "feel" to it. Not sure how to explain it.
A lot of very digital looking ashes falling, too, I noticed.
She's the polar opposite of what her character is supposed to be at this point. She was actually great until Season 5. The writing fell off

In the bath scene with Briene (amazing scene and probably his best in the show) he seems to suggest he was pushed over the edge by the mad king threatening to burn kings landing. Not that it matters too heavily, but Jaime killed the mad king because he ordered Jaime to kill his own father, basically. I think Nymeria was really pretty tooYupe, just felt weird. It dawned on me during the ship sequence too. It felt a little 'disjointed' maybe? Weird editing. Scenes ending randomly.
Oh and that 'mama! Mama!' scenes wad pure cringe, so was the seduction scene between Yara and Elliara. Though they did save the best looking sand snake, so.
He was planned to have more screentime, but everyone hated Dorne.
Not entirely accurate. It seems the real reason isn't that "everyone" hated Dorne, just the showrunners themselves. Apparently they have expressed as much in the commentary tracks, and said they hated writing Dorne and found it hard. I guess it shows.

Did they also find writing Stannis hard?
Rest in peace my one true king
Euron is the biggest dick in the world for:
A. Interrupting Yara and Ellaria's action.
B. Killing Yara...one of my favorite characters.
Wait, is Yara dead?
I think I remember one of the showrunners saying they didn't like Stannis.

No comparing the book to the show:
Any leak or book discussion is bannable.

Who the hell do they like??
Why would you quit now? There's only a few episodes left.
Sansa (such a brave young woman!), Dany (another strong female leader!), Jon Snow (what a heroic underdog!), and Tyrion (smartest dwarf ever amirite) probably.
Supposed to be based on what? How her character is in some sort of book, perhaps?
It's not a book, but maybe you could try reading the OP of this thread and/or fucking off to add to your massive post count in the other GoT thread that's designed specifically for people like you.
Not feeling the Nymeria scene. No payoff. I guess maybe it'll come into play later and this was just a "hey guys remember Nymeria for later plis"

Or Arya can't be domesticated anymore so she can't expect to domesticate Nymeria either.
