Damn,I hope this doesn't take away from Gatiss working on other things in the UK like Sherlock and Doctor Who.

Doubtful, unless their schedules are the exact same as GOT. Most GOT actors work on several other projects throughout the year.

If Gatiss is Mace Tyrell, he gets to get his fanboy on with Dame Diana Rigg again.

As The Crimson Horror teaches us, this is a very good thing indeed.

As long as Gatiss isn't also writing, this should be fine. He's a decent actor. Not really what I imagined for Mace, though. Not sure if that would be a good fit or not.

I want him to be Mace just because I'd rather see him interacting with Tyrion, Cersei, Tywin, et al. He deserves to be surrounded by the show's best actors.

Don't forget the coolest one:

Emilia Clarke is serviceable at best, and Dinklage has been phoning it in since season 2 (although I still think he does a good job). Nikolaj is IMO the second best actor in the show behind Charles Dance, and he doesn't get enough credit for it.

It's not iimportant if the actor playing Mace Tyrell is fat. The essential thing about the character is he's a self-inflated idiot. Lord Manderly, on the other hand, they'll need to get someone like Ian McNiece.

How long until the Comic-Con panel? They usually use that to make casting announcements.

The panel is tomorrow at 2:50 PM (Pacific Time). I would assume they'll make some casting announcements, they announced 12 new cast members last year. They also announced the premiere date last year.

Wow, can't believe Emilia got in there. She was better than she was inseason 2, but not all that great. The Dinklage nomination feels just like a token nomination at this point, but it's more deserved than it was in season 2. He did have a few good scenes, and I'm sue his nomination is based off of a scene between him and Tywin.

I wish Shae had been nominated, that would have been fucking hilarious.

As others have said if anyone should have been nominated it should have been Nicolaj or Michelle.

Good to see I'm not the only one. His "Joffery is king" spiel in S3's finale was especially bad. S4 will be far more emotional though, we'll see how it goes.

I have to LOL @ people saying Dinklage is phoning it in. What a ridiculous comment.

Also:

There has been criticism of Theon’s story arc this season, specifically the graphic torture scenes. As a book reader, I understand why this was done but, at the same time, found it difficult to watch. Can you give us insight into the thought-process that went into writing Theon’s scenes this season? Was it accepted that this arc would be uncomfortable (or perhaps a turn-off) for viewers?

Honestly? People thought these scenes were graphic? They dragged on, yes, but they weren't anything close to being graphic.

People skim through it and it's almost identical to the other one, with Game of Thrones + BOOK SPOILERS all in caps. Bitmap Frogs was the first of many, this thread should be named after ASOIAF not the show.

THIS TOTALLY THIS

I mean, I'm used to the TV show threads being spoiler free, so yeah.... =((

Catelyn coming back? I hope that was a sick joke or something.

No one gives Jack Gleeson credit in these award debates. He was pretty awesome this season (and basically always).
Jack Gleeson brought Joffrey to a new level in season 3. He introduced a layer of pure glee into Joffrey's typical menacing and tormenting attitude that was just delicious to watch.

The thread is about the TV show "Game of Thrones", so I don't think it should be named after Ice and Fire. Bottom line, people need to read what they're clicking on. Also, use Subscriptions!

The thread is about the TV show just as much as it is about the books, and most of the time the posts are comparisons between the two. A harmless title change would help highlight the major differences between the two.

The title has unmarked spoilers and season 4 in it, what more of warning do people need. If you are only watching the show, you are going to be spoiled no matter what.
