As someone who is watching season 2 never having read the books I dont know how anyone can hate Sansa.

I mean yes she grew up with severe selfish princess syndrome but since arriving in kings landing she's seen her father beheaded, a mans tongue cut out, someone disemboweled, her soon to be husband becoming probably the worst human alive and will be forced to carry and raise his child. She's been beaten, almost raped, and has to live her every moment in a perpetual state of deception just to survive.

I think a lot of people would be on the verge of suicide right now.

They never even showed pirate guy.

I cannot promise you the gold, the glory, or the queen, but I can promise you'll be blown up in a giant green explosion.

Glorious!
The explosion made my jaw hit the ground.

Crazy realistic for TV standards.

Currently polling second in Australia's federal election (first in the Gold Coast), this feral may one day be your Bogan King.
I wonder how it rated. I hope this show keeps its steam, given how much material there is to cover, and doesn't burn out after two/three seasons like so many series do.

Oh man. Season 3 and 4 should wipe the deck compared to 1 or 2.

I expect another major ratings bump next season. Not so much for this episode. Possibly next. Should be interesting to see what limits they can reach though.

What was with that whole exchange between Tyrion and Varys? Is Varys a pederast? Did I miss something there?

Show killed Ned in season one's second to last episode, and now Davos in season two's second to last episode. I'm sensing a pattern a here. They keep killing characters I like.

Woah. Woah. Wow. I'm impressed. By far the best episode of the season. Lena was outstanding, she really knocked that scene out off the park (finally!). Wildfire explosion needs no comments, there are already enough.

It did kind of seem to imply that, but it was probably just about his Little Birds he uses to spy on everyone.

Don't you think you would be more comfy in the non book thread? (ASOS)
Davos is not dead...

Just finished it.

Holy fucking shit.

The ending was much better than the book version.

That scene with Cersei and Tommen. Fuck, I actually started to tear up, despite not knowing she would poison them both. Knowing every time she looked at that door that at one point her father would come walking in. But I still fucking loved it...I was still moved.

Season 2 Lena >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Season 1 Lena

Holy fuck, The Rains of Castamere is beyond perfect. (Storm of Swords Spoiler):
When that gets played at the end of Season 3 it's going to be one of the most memorable songs in TV history due to the reactions I think
.

[ASOS]
Do you guys really think that scene will be at the end of S3? It's in the 2nd half of the book, so you would think it'd be in S4. If that ends S3, it doesn't seem like there's enough material for 10eps of S4 after that. I think there's like 400 pages after that point?

I thought they have said that going forward there will be content from Books mixed in with each other, So S3-4 won't just have things that happened in Book 3

I'm completly happy with the episode. It's really much better when they concentrate on one location per episode (though naturally they can't do it too often)

Some thoughts.
- Hound & Sansa
- Wildfire was well made and a good way to solve the "no chain" situation
- Overall Battle was well done
- Tyrion moraleboost was a bit weird but ok
- Drunk Cersei is Best Cersei
- The fucking Rains of fucking Castamere! I was fuck yeah when Bronn was singing it with his men and I never would have expected it in the End Credits. "Bear and the Maiden Fair" next please!
[edit] - And Tyrion is at least going to have a huge scar in his face. Would be happy with that!

There's still plenty. Just because it's huge doesn't mean it's the end. That's like saying the tollbooth scene was the end of the Godfather.

I would bang a hot farmer!

Plus they can easily move stuff around and expand on other things also. We're getting ASoS stuff (Jaime/Brienne on the run, possibly the prologue if the soundtrack is to be believed) in this season already also. Just because it happened in a certain order in the book doesn't mean the same will happen in the show.

I think it's not a very good idea to end S3 with that, but it'd also be a terrible idea to make a perfect 50/50 divide. Not so much because of SOS itself but rather because it'd they could really use five episodes or so in S4 to start moving AFFC/ADWD along and finish them off in the following season. Those two books having their seasons for themselves would almost assuredly get the show cancelled.

Oh yeah, also this. I knew she wasn't going to poison him. But the moment I've realized what she was doing... damn, I was still excited. I knew it wasn't going to happen but it was executed so well I forgot for a moment that I've read any subsequent book.

Yes, there are 'barely' 400 (420 to be exact) pages left after the RW but they are absolutely packed. Joffrey's wedding, imprisonment of the Imp, Oberyn vs Gregor (!), Tyrion killing Tywin, Battle of Castle Black and arrival of Stannis, Jon becoming Lord Commander, the conclusion to Arya's and Hound's wacky adventures around Westeros, Dany sacking cities... Season 4 will be just one rolling conclusion to the first arc of the series and with proper amount of screentime it can be executed splendidly with no rushing.
Swift edit: Oh and Bran getting past the wall! And whole Lysa/LF affair, combined with smuggling Sansa out of KL. Jesus, seriously, the last 400 pages of ASOS are inasne
Swift Edit No. Dos: Of course, almost forgot, Zombie Cat!

Even if they fall short they can still move some events from AFFC/ADWD.
[AFFC]
Parts of Iron Islands storyline seem to be a decent suggestion as at the moment we will be facing a long period of time with no appearance from any Greyjoys and other Ironborn scum
[ADWD]
or perhaps we might even get some early glimpses at Reek near the end of S04?

I'm gonna guess that the next episode will handle the events like this.

Tyrion will awaken badly injured, and Joffrey will spread some lie about what's been happening at King's Landing. It will preempt/override Tyrion telling the truth of Joffrey's assassination plot. Tywin will of course take his place at hand, and Tyrion will either be imprisoned or escape.

That's just my guess though.

I'm disappointed that the giant chain didn't make the show for no other reason than being confused as hell when I read it in the book and hoping the show would help me understand/visualize it.

Visualization:

1.) Chain is raised, traps Stannis fleet
2.) Wildfire is used, creating a horrific inferno that begins to burn said ships
3.) A ship log jam occurs as they hit up against the chain, creating a sort of makeshift landbridge of ship wreckage for which actual soldiers could fight upon

I wish Cersei had come up with another plan outside of wildwire, so Tyrion's contribution could be clearer/undeniable as it was with the chain.

But...I can't think of anything Cersei could have come up with.

I'm not used to reading show threads where there are a ton of people who actually know, not just theorizing, what's going to happen.

So I absent mindedly click spoilers and then realize what I'm doing and don't read.

Sucks.

Need a spoiler-free thread :( Spoiler alerts don't help enough. I'm a shitty human being.

She can pout them to death.

Where was Salladhor in all this? I hope he survived, I like that character.

ACOK
At least in the book version of the battle, Salladhor and his pirates stayed back in the Bay away from the river where most of the boats got burned up. But who knows since the show had the wildfire burning farther out in the bay.

I really enjoyed the ep, this one will be great to rewatch when the blu-ray hits. It probably couldn't be done because of budget reasons, but I kind of missed [CoK]
Tyrion doing the jump and run over the shipwrecks. That was also where he got the cut right?
That was one of the most memorable moments in CoK, too bad it couldn't be done.

Also please always put the relevant book before the spoiler. Which book is Plasmid's spoiler from?

Lena Headey absolutely devoured that material. Despite the explosions, head chopping and all that, her performance is the one thing that's sticking in my mind. Good fucking job.

Video quality is probably shit and I need to put some scenes of ME3 in that, with some rallenties maybe, but here's a little thing I've done with Blackwater explosion and ME3 ending.
Just added the ending music for now lol, nothing incredible
You can "get" it only if you know Mass Effect 3 ending (and watch Game of Thrones, obviously), but whatever. I need to change colors too.
