I was going to make the exact same question, since i have tried every banner for Zongli, Childe and Ganyu, and have failed miserably in all of them.

Well... stop trying with each and every banner if you have limited wishes. Unfortunately rates are so low, that your best chance is having 180 wishes ready for 2x90 tries. For 90 you have only 50% chance of limited 5☆ appearing. For guaranteed limited 5☆ you need another 90 pulls xD On Cocogoat banner I got Mona for my pity. So yeah... there's no secret technique, only misery.

Lot of quests and stuff give primogems. It's mostly hoarding it till you want to roll for the right banner and certainly not fast as banners tend to last longer than your standard mobage, which means more time to save. Though I have caved plenty of times for the Welkin or Battle pass to speed things up. Also, you should keep track of your rolls and play around the pity system if you are F2P.

There's always some degree of luck with gachas but this game has a very well defined pity system and methods of obtaining Primogems. Gacha is just math and probability in the end. As F2P you have to approach it with a rational plan of attack, but you can easily pull a guaranteed 5* every few months spending absolutely nothing.
If you are a light spender in this game, either a minnow who buys only Welkin/BP or a dolphin who has spent less than $100, you get a ton of value as long as you apply your funding well and have a plan. Plus yes, being a bit lucky helps.
I pulled my Cocogoat Waifu to C1 and an Amos Bow using only leftover resources from a bit of spending at launch plus what I saved from Klee banner until her banner. I also got lucky, getting her on both first (soft) pity and not needing to hit pity twice to pull her, but that's doable by anyone who gets a bit lucky. The weapon banner can be more hellish because of no guarantee so I did luck out pulling the bow on first pity.

Played every day since launch, break up my time between early morning and late night play to max resin use. I do resource runs, mining runs, and artifact runs on a 48 hour rotation. Take all their surveys, watch this thread (and reddit) for redeem codes, and pull pull pull.

That is 14,400 primo gems (1600 gems for a "10" pull then that 9 times). That is probably 3 months worth of grinding.

Prior to pulling Diluc I was running Ganyu as my main DPS but I really didn't care for the aimed shot mechanic and most of her DPS comes from that. I much prefer the more traditional sword play of Diluc.

I think I have about 3 pities worth of pulls after playing from day 1 + Welkin.(4 months) (no battle pass)
I skipped some dailys for at least a few weeks because I overplayed, and didn't do the free battle pass properly until recently which is a couple extra fates. So maybe nearly 300 pulls if I had. Out of quest content mostly now, and chests so the rate will be less from now on until whatever.
The other maths is right - it's 3+ months for a pity (90pulls) just with Welkin+dailys, +freebies ; but when starting out it's a lot quicker

The only other character I can think of that is kinda similar to Diluc would be Razor. I wouldn't recommend playing him though.
You could save up your gems for future characters and see if anything interests you.

I'm assuming you're not skipping all the events here, as those reward a lot of gems too. Your real gem income on a month basis including event participation is probably twice that.

Correct. Treasure Chests, Quests, and events should double it but on average without those factors that's generally how much you can expect to get.

It's not fast at all - even with 5 euro pass you get 90 from that +60 from dailies so pretty much 1 pull per day ?

Are you talking about the Primo Geoviship that costs resin for materials or the regular Geoviships that are roaming around the overworld in Liyue with the hatchlings?
If it's the Primo version you are talking about, you just need to bring a shield user and it'll reflect damage back at it when the game prompts you to. If the shield is geo or the matching element as it, it'll reflect back all of it's damage (so basically if you have Noelle or Zhongli). If it's a mismatching element, then it'll reflect back half the damage.

No, the boss ofc. I don't really have any shield character. I learned though - electro version is easy for my team, fire is "abuse sweet madame" difficulty. Now waiting for resin to recharge to farm some more. Maybe I can slot my low level Noelle to just swap in and shield when he's about to aoe.

The new medium sized one outside the cave gave me way more trouble.. actually the normal ones are harder to kill.
That thing takes stupid damage from Noelle's shield. I didn't even realise what I was doing at first.

By the time you are AR 45+ you probably have very few chests left in the world that award primo gems.
I do the hymn (Bp cash out) and Welkin each month, am at AR 50-54 range and have 100% of both areas explored. I am hard pressed to get past 5k per month.
It is a much more rewarding and exciting game to play at low levels IMO. I started a mew account on Ps5 last month and so far am having a blast again (F2P on that account).

It does transfer, but what's the point pulling on random banners risking getting average hero and resetting pity? For example if I pull on Xiao (lolno) and get him, I will need even more pulls for Ayaka or Raiden. And where's the guarantee that by the time a worthy candidate will be released, you will have enough wishes even for couple rolls? Unfortunately, your best strategy is just to wait and pull on standard banner only.

It's true, although I did risk myself with one pull or another on the standart banner. But only with 1 wish, I didn't go full 10 wish pull. I felt this kinda help me with some banners, like the one with Fishl and Sacarose.

As a 100% F2P player. I managed to horde 30k primogems, since the game launched. I did a 10 pull on Zhongli banner using a stack of 10 wishes that i had, got Zhongli and was not even trying to get him. Then used my primogems to pull on Ganyu. Spent 9k gems untill i pulled her, leaving me with 21k primogems left. Since then untill today i already have 26k primogems saved again. So close to the 28k gems needed to garantee another 5 star feautured character that i want.
Thats how i play F2P games. I horde enough premium currency and only use it once i have enough to garantee the character i want even if my luck is the worst possible.
If you keep spending all the gems u have in every banner you are tied to luck and to the pitty system count that luckely dosent reset when new banners arrive. But is much harder to garantee u the character u really want.

The Kamera thing is so bad
- I go to talk to the guy today - he has rewards for me, but needs something - no indication of what he wants - he doesn't even have a text line - I have to go to the menu to discover he wants blue things
- I try taking photos - the colors are just random ? or am I missing something
- Discover I'm color blind and anemo slimes are not blue.
- The things electro cirin mage summon are blue, but the mage isn't
- Carrots are red btw. As are yellow berries [maybe]. (yesterdays event)
- I somehow randomly collect the photos (I need one of each color - did it tell me ??) - get the reward
- Go back - the same quest is still up. He doesn't even say I finished it. Wants more photos but I have no films. (maybe if I got lucky and got extra photos of each color I could collect twice?)

For today (at least in my game) you have to find "Blue Creatures". So you can find resource creatures (lizards, crabs, etc) or you can target enemies (ice slimes, ice wizards, ice/blue hilichruls <sp> ).
Put them in the kamera frame, when you have a subject that qualifies they will have a blue circle around them in the view finder. Hold that pose for a few moments and it will take a picture that is a random color.
Quest backstory - the person has a defective kamera. They want you to take pictures of specific colors so they can prove to the kamera maker it is defective (hence the random colors you get).

Yeah. Camera is broken, so color is random. To get the daily reward you need a set of photos with 1 in each color. Each day you have only 8 tries (rolls) on camera. If you have multiple photos in the same color you can gift them to your friends and ask them to gift something back to complete your set. Absolutely confusing event, I agree.

You are not supposed to get blue color as your output. Blue things will give out one of the 5 random color that is needed to complete the set. Your aim is to get all the five colors and then return to the guy for rewards. Blue things or red things etc. mean that you only get the colors by taking pics of flowers, fruits, enemies etc. which are of that color.

It's not completely random, though. Someone suggested me to take a picture of a cryo whopperflower to get yellow and it worked. Taking pictures of goblins in Dragonspine gave me only red and blue, and I got 1 brown from my only cryo abyss mage (the one right next to a whopperflower up from Cecila Garden).
