It sounds similar to TLOU2 where the game really shines on higher difficulty.
Nothing wrong with that. What's wrong is locking people out (Souls games).

What do you mean locking people out from soul games? Souls games doesn't lock anyone from anything. Everyone is on equal footing, what are you talking about xDNothing wrong with that. What's wrong is locking people out (Souls games).
You shouldn't have sent my photo to the forum haha
I am actually not the biggest fan of Souls games but they are what they are and the creator has the right to his vision.Nothing wrong with that. What's wrong is locking people out (Souls games).
It should be developers's choice, if FROM don't want to include difficulty option in their game then they shouldn't be force to. Sucker Punch wanted difficulty option in their game, thats their choice.Nothing wrong with that. What's wrong is locking people out (Souls games).
Not everything is made for everybody, that’s life. Also game like Sekiro still sold pretty damn well and won GOTY award and still able to keep their vision intact and that’s a good thing. That does not mean the difficulty leaves a lot of gamers out, specially young and casuals.

You should see the stealth. Embarrassing for a game with “Ghost” in the titleCombat seems really boring and easy . Enemies takes turn in attacking Seems like it's just as I expected , flash over substance
I don't care, just being objective. It's not my style of game so I'm not playing it regardless.Again....honestly who cares about scores? read/watch the actual reviews and see what they like don't or like about the game. Based on most reviewers the biggest take way I got is the combat and exploration is great fun but the story is basic but I kind of expecting that since none of the Sucker punch's games had very deep story but they were absolutely fun to play (for me at least).....so based on that its easy buy for me.
Man, I kinda don't want to admit all the games you listed are mid to me lolblack flag sailing is DOPE
In terms of difficulty, games are certainly for everyone if it’s the pc version. Trainer exists and they can be extremely helpful on tinkering the difficulty. I’m able to enjoy quite a lot of games with just a few tweaks with it to get rid of/go through some annoying difficulty design or levels that I hate a lot.
This argument is stupid.. people with this point think those games will sale millions of more copies or some shit if they put an easy mode on it... Mean while those games proceed to sale millions have insane respect in the game community and Sekiro won GOTY because it was GOD tier.. Also "young" ppl shouldn't even be playing those games anyway... along with casuals. Not every game has to appeal to everyone. FROM is my favorite developer because they don't bend the knee to anyone... They make what the fucking want...period. If you cant beat those games you don't deserve their greatness in the first place. They have been doing fine " living off the hardcore" as a major fan of those games I'm hardly even close to being bored of the formula, and usually a big turn off to games now are they are too fucking easy and hand holdy... The ironic thing about all of this is the souls games aren't even "hard" at all. Sekiro was tough in some area, but I got past them, and it made me feel fucking great! It's their choice - I never said it wasn't. That does not mean the difficulty doesn't leave a lot of gamers out, specially young and casuals. In the end it's their loss ($$$).
They're leaving a lot on the table in my opinion. A lot of gamers won't touch the games or give up not even past the first couple bosses. They want to live off the hardcore only? Let that be their wish - and hopefully pray the hardcore doesn't get bored of the formula. They should take note from Sony Santa Monica with God of War if it's anything but an example on how you can make a game's combat easy to pick up and challenging at the same time without losing the addiction aspect. Then again that game is superior to any Souls game ever made on a variety of fronts. I will still buy them day one but it's what it's.

That your choice, but it doesn't change that developers shouldn't be force put something they don't want to just for sake of "selling more copies".
From the 9/10 IGN review:
Maybe a day one patch will fix the stealth AI? But it’s a common issue I’ve seen appear in reviews, don’t know how that could’ve gotten past gold.shame... I really wanted this game. but yeah It's worth buying but not for 60$ hope I can get it for half price in a month or soo... Hell hopefully they patch some of this shit out!
I miss this mothafucka like you wouldn't believe...
Again, FROM made their choice and it worked out for them. Developers are free to do what they want and you are free not to like it, not everything meant to appeal to everybody. As much as TLOU2 has lots of options, it still very, very violent game which guess what is gonna turn some people off, should they turn down the violence for mass appeal? That's one way to frame it. Another way is "for the sake of people who may be on the margins to find enjoyment in it" and give it a go. From my point of view that is a no brainer reasonable approach. There is a lot riding on hardcore whales and the fear they may throw a hissy fit if all of the sudden the game was suddenly palatable with options. There are a lot of things being done to address this. TLOUII is a also a perfect example of tailored choice - you can literally change individual aspects and find your sweet spot. The director made his choice - that's his right. And we are free to criticize it and describe it as we see it.
Have the game locked and loaded, will play it and beat it, maybe platinum it if I enjoy it that much.Damn dude, you’re on a mission.

this man has to be the most professional reviewer in gaming, don't trust any other opinion until he vouches for the game.

But it was wise, tons of people loved Sekiro, it sold very well and won GOTY and most important part is FROM able to keep their vision intact.it's whether that choice is reasonable, or wise.

Dude, that makes no sense.Black Flag is definitely the best Assassin's Creed game they ever made, that's for sure. The only one I played from start to finish. The new one looks more like Skyhallah (Skyrim with Vikings) than Assassin's Creed, but I can understand that they also don't want that style of game to get bland/overdone.
Did Sekiro sold poorly!? It did not, You personally may not like it but tons of people did so I would say it was success. And I can perfectly agree to disagree with that.
Yes even Easy Allies says so.I think you can find something negative in an any open-world game if you are actively looking for it for something to confirm your bias. This seems like a nitpick to me tbh. Is there any other vids out there that shows that the stealth 100% broken and embarassing?

Why is it wise to limit options to make a game more accessible to others? But it was wise, tons of people loved Sekiro, it sold very well and won GOTY and most important part is FROM able to keep their vision intact.
And I mean isn’t like the whole like thing of the story in this one that he’s evolving from a Samurai into a stealth like “Ghost?” Maybe it’ll make more sense when playing but if stealth isn’t enjoyable I’ll do samurai but if the actions in the main plot are based on as if I was a Ghost then that’s kinda weird if I wasn’t. We’ll see thoughGames like this shouldn't advertise stealth if it's not their main focus. Ever since Batman Arkham and the tall grass paradigm almost every third-person game has some sort of stealth aspect but they're all really similar. Uniqueness comes from the character in use, not the the design principles which are copy and paste from each other. You make a big deal out of it then expect some eyes. It's competent to have options to spice encounters and give player choice, however marketing dept can set some expectations wrong when what you really have is serviceable.
Not every game is meant for everyone. Why is it wise to limit options to make a game more accessible to others?
Does it rob you or others of anything? You can still play it on hard, you can still brag to others you beat it on hard. Accessibility doesn’t compromise vision, it does nothing but accommodate more. It’s a net gain.
I’ve never understood this line of thinking. Why are more options bad?
Hahaha

So it’s about the principle? Not every game is meant for everyone.
Accessibility is just a welcomed bonus. But Souls games are all about that tension and satisfaction, and this is coming from someone who sucks balls at them. I gave Sekiro to my friend after like 3 hours, because it just wasn’t for me.
And if it would’ve had an easier option so I can beat it, then that’s takes away from my experience and the developers are not respected for sticking to the fundamental aspects of the game and what makes them what they are.
That, I don't know.Hahaha
Half dude
With all the complaints in these threads about western game developers making ugly chics/purposely making females less attractive, I thought I’d ask if there are any hot Japanese females from the 1200s in here.
You asked
Life doesn't have difficulty options, all you can do is GIT GUD. We want games to be more realistic in all aspects, but when they are we complain about it too?Why is it wise to limit options to make a game more accessible to others?

It just their design choice....thats all. AGAIN, FROM made name for themselves for that very reason, to the point other developers getting inspiration from them or just downright try to copy them.So it’s about the principle?
Thats on an easier difficulty and this is prevalent in most games. However if you want to take it to a technical level I dont think you want 5 guys rushing in with swords as there will probably be friendly fire in the process, thats smart design
Exactly.I thought it was "confirmed" that Sony pay for reviews and reviewers were afraid to give their games low scores? So why doesn't this have a 94 minimum on MC?
