That's my issue too. Austin's best moment for me was him calling out Brad during the Best Graphics GOTY deliberations. That's something I don't expect the old crew to do. And I was hoping for the new hires to challenge those believes but they really aren't. Which is a shame.
I get that Jeff might be intimidating with his opinion but come on. His taste is all over the place. Having him to explain it a bit more while being challenged is always a great thing.

I'm pretty sure they, as in most of them, nominated it for Best Story and everything. It seemed unbeatable right up until the end.
It was only Jeff's heroic strike against the multiplayer that brought something more respectable to the top spot.

1 was promising.
2 was good.
Brotherhood was good.
Unity had a fun coop (which is cheating, everything's more fun in coop).
That series desperately needed a reboot. Origins looks promising enough. What I absolutely hate though is that dumb hawk drone. It's sooooooooooooooo dumb. Not every game needs a drone, Ubisoft!

The worst opinion about the AC franchise is that 4 was great.... Seriously it has to be one of the most overrated game ever..
I'm sure the fact it was coming off the shit turd of 3 helped it a lot but seriously...
The boat stuff was fun for a while but everything on land was AC3 level of shit. Full of insta-fail stealth sections and countless escort missions....

2 could be amazing for all I know, but I don't think thinking that series is bad should be controversial. Even if 4 is good a few hours in, it's still full of stupid cinematic walking at the beginning. I'm not necessarily saying the series is bad, same way I don't think something like Gravity Rush is bad, but I could see how someone thinks it is.To be fair Dan said 2 was good.

Games criticism is easily the weakest part of BeastCast, because they just don't do it often and they they're just not good at criticizing games or responding to someone criticizing games.

Need to hit MGS story hard to get to Dan. Then again, AC is bit weird series for Vinny to be defending so much. Didn't know he was so into it. Must've read all the lore books or something back in the day like he did with witcher or something.

Well 2017 has one of the strongest game lineups in years, perhaps ever, and that's largely due to Japan returning to form. BotW, Nier, RE 7, Persona, Nioh, Yakuza, Tekken 7, hopefully Mario and Splatoon 2, etc. So imagine if Japan was on their shit back then

Assassins Creed kinda stopped having new stories at some point. Now every game is the same assassin origin story in a new setting and the modern say stuff has been paper thin since 4.
And Mass Effect... man.... remember MASS EFFECT? Fuck.
I wish Assassin's Creed could have just been a historically based game rather than having a dumb sci fi conceit and then Ancient Aliens
I just wish they committed to direction for the larger meta story.
These days they still have the modern day / sci fi stuff but you can just tell its only there because it was there before and they havent done anything with it in years.
