Directions: Pull String For Uninformed Rant
I know there's been a lot of praise of the graphics, but wow...wow...this is a gorgeous game. I really like the lighting in this game so far. I'm still pretty early on, but outside of maybe more AA, I don't know what they could have done. It's such a gorgeous game, and it's so smooth. Technically speaking, it's the most competent job they've done. It really is impressive given how other devs have struggled getting their games to run smoothly on PS3. This game is stunning. It's fun too, which doesn't hurt. :lol It's tough to imagine next gen looking much better than this.

so I missed like all of Gorgon Eyes ( not my mistake I really tried to look for them , why the boxes are hidden like this anyway ? ) , I am at the Cavrens ( after City of Olympia ) and my Health bar is tiny , I am playing on hard and things now turned to real hell for me.

is it better to just restart the game or is there any way to return to the locations and get them ?
How come? I'm playing on Titan mode and I reached the final boss tonight with Maxed Out trophy, along with max HP, MP and the refil meter :p I didn't follow any guide either. Maybe you missed most of the chests because you need to shine Helios' light in spots where there's a blurry heatwave thingy going on. Those are invisible chests.

I also made it out barely alive by the skin of my teeth in couple of battles near the end. Think of GoW 2 gauntlet type difficulty spike here.

BUT, don't quit. You will get chance to recover some of your missed chests. Later on, the game automatically puts your missed items in chests instead of red orbs. But be sure to search every nook and cranny with helios' head.

Edit: If the going really gets rough, you can always switch back to normal mode.

This may be splitting hairs, but I'm fairly sure it isn't a case of the game putting missed objects in red orb chests so much as it is the game offering far more eyes/feathers/horns than you can actually find, and once you've maxed out your bars, the remaining chests turn to red orbs.

So er, yeah!

I missed a lot of the Gorgon Eyes too but maxed out the other two. :S

Luckily I was playing on Normal so it wasn't that big of a deal.

thanks , I guess I well go to normal or even easy first to see if I can survive with my original tiny health bar , if I can't I will restart the entire thing :(

thing is I got some feathers and horns but no Eyes , and now that I checked some online sites I think it's my mistake because I didn't search for them well enough ( the are still hidden in dump places ) since I always went forward to action.

Finally picked up the game, started on Titan mode. It's not too hard. Grant it, certain attacks from
Posideon
took about 90% of my health but I just beat him. Now I'm in
Hades and those bastards in the river styxx took my shit.

I just encountered my first
Gorgon
battles, fuck I forgot what a pain in the ass they are... :/

Awesome game!!!!

So speaking of Gorgons.... You know how the Gorgons in the game are much bigger, fatter, more awesome looking, and easier to kill in this game than before? And how they just take some button presses to finish off, instead of the left stick shenanigans?

So what was the deal with the solitary old-style Gorgon from GoW1/2 suddenly showing up in one of the late-game fights in the
Caverns/Labyrinth
? That was so strange. Like a leftover or something. This Gorgon was small, had stupid hair, and even had the left stick finishing moves.

Did anyone else notice that? Just odd.

Laziness?

Started on my Chaos run just now. Beaten Poseidon and Hades. Hades
tug of war was a pain in the ass.
I also finished the 1000 combo trophy on that part after Hades.

Hades was a joke to me on Titan but Chaos mode he put up a challenge. I actually had to use the rage of
Sparta
on him.

Just beat it. Despite the awful writing and voice acting, strange looking human character models (other than Kratos), some odd presentation issues, and a very, very weak ending, I enjoyed myself. I think GoW2 was a much better game, however -- it seemed to have a lot more memorable moments. As far as visuals, it beats Uncharted 2 to death at points, but I think Uncharted looks better overall.

Maybe it was the just the writing, but I cringed even more than when I play other games. Pandora, Hercules, Hermes, and Hera were particularly grating.

I can understand Pandora, but Hercules?!?! what the FAWK!!!!!!!!! :lol

Hermes' voice acting was just to sound annoying and irritating which was properly done. I don't see the problem with Hera's voice. Eh to each his own :D

dont relate annoying characters/script to bad voice overs. all the voice work was pretty good, even pandora. yes, i agree that its not the most pleasant of voices for her, but that doesn't mean its terrible voice work.

ps just finished the game. 10/10 great end to the trilogy.

After beating the game the three times and unable to skip the cutscenes, I have to say the voice acting has grown on me. I can never get past "Lazy mortal!":lol

People just hate Pandora I think. At least there is no save/protect escort gameplay with her.

I dreaded that infamous escort mission in GOW2 on titan mode. Took me forever to get past it.

What are these comments about how god of war 3 is uneven in terms of graphic quality. Every stage was about graphically amazing as the one before. The in door stages did look like a painting and some of the models (Sirens model was holy shit amazing). It definitely didn't have a low point. Possibly the demo stage was the worst looking part of the game.

There is about 2 case of low quality model.
The smith god Hephaestus and the sex mini game.
Other then that the quality is pretty consistent.

I thought
Hera
was easily the worst looking character in the game.

I love that little poem/song Hermes performs in the caverns. So full of delicious snark and contempt :lol

Ah, yeah, I see what you mean now. I kinda feel the same way too. It doesn't really bother me all that much, but it does leave you with a slight 'why am I here and what am I doing here?' feeling. GoW and GoW II felt more like you progressed through a cohesive area, while GoW III is a bit more.. uh.. random? Like, you're in
Hades
, and then you end up in
Hephaestus' forge
, before going to some
grand ballroom with the Flame of Olympus
, and then you're in
some city on mount Olympus
, and then
oh hai again Hephaestus
and then you go to
Tartarus
to
pick up a stone
and then
'sup im back lol Hephaestus'
and then there's a
labyrinth
. Also; giant crates.

Yeah, eaxctly. I think that's a pity because the old GOW games did this much better. Gow III feels inconsistent...but yeah, the crates were the worst offender. That was really...I don't know who came up with that. Seems so stupid.

Oh god damn it, I thought those places required some godly relic that I had not found yet.

I feel such a fool now.

Currently breezing through the severely CUBE-influenced labyrinth. Some nice puzzles there.

I did mines on the part after Hades testing out the powers on Chaos. This method is a godsend to me because you don't have to risk getting hit at all that's why I think it's the easiest.

Probably a much easier place to farm this trophy is the
Hercules
fight. The upside is that there is a lot less space and the move doesn't push you out of reach of the enemies.

With due care this trophy can be reached earlier as well.

Really? Won't
Hercules
fuck you up and breaking your combo/hits?

I'll platinum the game after I finish Chaos mode. You guys are lucky there is no Chaos trophy requirement.

The only trophy I need are the challenges.

When you get hit doing this it takes a couple of seconds for the combo to fail. I got hit and it took close to 3 seconds to attack again and the combo still continued.

I think they tried to have some old enemies back into the game so ppls could see that the game took place right after the 2nd one and have that sort of connection or something. I dont think they were lazy. Also that gorgon's freeze attack is crazy. Like the game sorta slows down due to her attack. Now I see what they meant when they said the frame rate changed due to certain special moves in an interview or something.

Yeah I am having trouble with the skin code as well...entered one on the gow site and never got an email with the psn code...why did they not just give psn codes in the first place?

No, during the first stage of this battle the main guy is not involved and you must just fight hordes of simple enemies. They're slow and there's a lot of them.

You can even take a hit or two and the combo will keep on going (cannot say that about Titan mode though).

I believe my Hades hooks were level 2 or 3 at that point.

Finished this on normal last night, amazing game. So quick question - am about to start a titan playthough, if I want to get a difficult trophy can I change the difficulty to easy, unlock the trophy, then quit the game and load back up and still finish the game on titan and unlock the complete on titan mode trophy?

Cannot make out what exactly you're asking.

If you mean get the Titan trophy by cheating, then that's probably not going to work.

Probably not, but there are really only a couple of hard spots in Titan...just remember R1+O is your best friend.

Sorry, should have been clearer. I mean the 1000 combo trophy, now I've thought about it I've answered my own question. The game exceeded just about every expectation I had, 2010 is shaping up to be a great year already.

The only bug I got was in the room with Ares corpse at the start. I was walking on the ice and fell through the ice+ares and then was floating below the level and had to restart checkpoint.

The game froze on me once and one time I got stuck floating between levels too. And I had the audio repeat a word of dialogue once. I haven't noticed any others so far, I'm at that stupid flame
cerberus
at the moment. Fuck those stupid
exploding dogs!

Completed my 1st playthrough last night on Titan mode. What a rush!! I swear on many of the later bosses i died 20+ times before i figured out the best pattern/weapons to use.:lol

Got all the trophies except 3 in my 1st playthrough so im gonna do a 2nd run on Easy now to get the last few.
What? I've earned it!!!

Regarding the challenges..please tell me that its like GOW2 and that you DONT have to do them all in one sitting??

Finished this finally yesterday. Absolutely loved it. Best in the series imo, though 2 is literally RIGHT behind it. Enjoyed the ending as well.

You don't have to do them in one sitting, you get a tick next to the challenge once you've completed it

i did them all in one sitting though.
They are the easiest of the 3 games.

Actually a bit of a joke compared to the first 2

Only a couple hours into it so far and I'm sure its been commented on, but I love the fact that Kratos can
rotate objects!

From what I've done so far, it has the potential to be my favorite, but right now IMO the
puzzles
have been too few and far between, I'm sure that will change as I get into it more. I loved how in the first two they made you figure them out on your own, and with the current trend (I'm looking at you Uncharted) I was worried they would just spoon feed the solutions to the player.........time will tell.

For the Godly Possesions trophy...do you need to have all of them in your possesion at the same time? Or does it only care that you find all of them at all? Example..in my first playthrough i got 4 or 5 of them. Do i need to get only the ones i missed in playthrough two or do i need them all at the same time?

I'm pretty sure you have to find them all in one playthrough, though I'm not 100 % certain.
