The investment of like 90 minutes? Sure. Origins is good, the rest are mixed (Duel, Prototype, Odd One Out) or poor (The Package, Homecoming).

It's no Animatrix, but thankfully it's not Gotham Knight either.

Maybe, but it's a threshold that I'm still not comfortable crossing (weird, huh). Posting on gaming forums is something I do at home alone. Very few people I know in real life know I'm such a 'nerd' when it comes to Halo.


Just as easy to pick the game up in the morning. Can't see myself staying up all night and playing it anyway. I'd be too tired to pick up on the details.

Halo 4 has been rolling at the top of the heap for best sellers on Amazon. I wonder what the actual numbers are for pre-orders. Anyone have a link? Granted Black Ops II and Assassin's Creed 3 might have larger total sales (across all platforms), but it's nice to see the standard edition of Halo 4 is leading the pack.

I think it could be part of it, sure. I don't know the details of Blompkamp's vision, but I remember reading that part of the reason why the movie didn't work out was because of MS's initial swagger and their failure to understand that their status outside of Hollywood equated to nothing.

Speaking to the character of Master Chief, he's really not a great star character outside of a videogame. He's constantly masked and has little to say, and to do anything differently would cause a pretty big uproar to the fans. There was a movie from the late 90s called Soldier that used the 'silent warrior' character pretty well (in my humble opinion), but one of the reasons it worked is that you got to see Kurt Russell's facial expressions all the time.

The Fall of Reach comics, and the recent Scanned commercial are very real steps that 343 Industries and, by extension, Microsoft has taken to make the Master Chief a more human character. The days of the helmet under the helmet are gone.

lol - I think Frank meant that your speculation (the final sentence) was incorrect.

Having said what I have, I would be extremely interested to see what 343 would do with a Chief-centric Halo movie. The biggest question I'd have is how close they'd stick to the Marvel model, because they've got the right idea for handling a franchise.

Forward Unto Dawn episode 4 was pretty damn good. I kind of wish that they introduced the Chief a little earlier though. Hopefully we get to see some cool action scenes at the end with MC

I had to reserve a copy in the UK as the franch version does'nt have english dub from what I know...

Usually french shops break street date as soon as shipment comes in...I hate it that Halos are frenchified to death.
Anniversary was my only chance to enjoy a Halo early sell... :-(

Just go in and look for it. If it's not there (99/100 times it won't be), ask someone. Act convincingly that they should have this game in stock. Ask if there are copies "in the back" or something to that effect.If you are confident without being aggressive, you have a better shot.

Still, pretty slim odds lol. As for stores to hit up...all of them!

Oh yeah I already cut the Machinima intros and the "NEXT TIME ON..." part. I just feel like the Cortana segments kill the flow a little when all the episodes are combined.

What program are you using? If its photoshop, try the quick select tool and experiment with refine edge and defringing. My go to is usually the pen tool when I want really great cutouts though.

GIMP, but the dark background is blending in with the edges of the weapons. I'll take another crack at it tonight.

Yeah when you don't have great contrast, you usually have to do a bunch of manual work. The pen tool in photoshop (does GIMP have this?) will work wonders. Takes more work since you have to manually place anchor points for the cutout, but the results are terrific. If no one else has done this for you by the end of the day, I'll be happy to do it for you this weekend

Holy fuck this show is awesome. When the boss lady colonel forget her name got hit by the needler, fell down and FUCKING EXPLODED. Damn.

The scene where they're stepping over all the bodies was really well done.

Chiefs intro was cliche as fuck but so good.

Only thing I didn't like was the Chiefs lines are SO. CHEESY. Goddamn. He also moves very awkwardly but I just chalk that up to the live action suit. I think if there were ever a Halo Movie, any action scenes should be CGI. Just so they can portray the abilities of a Spartan well.
