I agree with you on longer kill times and OP power weapons. I hated firing a rocket at someone in H3 and have it not kill them. But I LOVED being able to jump over rocket blasts and time them right. I honestly prefered that to the fire and forget ones in Reach.

But the bolded statement is false.

MLG, or anyone with good teamwork won't bunch up. That's a "primitive" teamwork method. More Guns Together, More kills together. But it means you're only covering a fraction of the map.

MLG and other competetive teams use set ups. Every player is set up at a key point, but are still able to teamshot someone. Shots come in from all directions, and not just from one mass of players. THAT is teamwork.

Also on the PAX 10 Cut content... Goddamn that Global Battle thing was intense. Space Combat looked cooler as far as background action also. When I first heard of space combat I imagined the large scale battle between the UNSC Fleet, Orbital Guns, and the biggest Covenant Fleet EVER to attack a planet. Imagine if you had to ESCORT the pelican through that chaos and into the Long Night of Solace.

I also thought that Desert scene looked like what they wanted to do with Tip of the Spear. In the background you saw 3 spires... I wished we could have taken them all out in an all out offensive.

So is this just a comparison to Halo in general (or Reach)? Or is this confirmation of a new Halo game this year?

The fact it says "ultimate showdown of 2011" would make me think the latter but the fact a story like that wouldn't be the sole cover story and hyperbolic headline writing make me think otherwise.

There really nothing different with these preview builds. It's mainly the apps being updated/new (Netflix, Hulu Plus).

If we get a new Halo game this year, it will be the first time that a new game from each series would come out in the same year.

Microsoft's strategy was to release Gears and Halo every other year.
- Gears of War: 2006
- Halo 3: 2007
- Gears of War 2: 2008
- Halo Wars/ODST: 2009

Things got murky with Reach, but I think Microsoft is going to wait until 2012 for a new Halo game.

Well the whole "EXCLUSIVE! It's real, it's happening this year, it's GoW 3 vs. Halo" Makes it sound like they're convinced a Halo game is coming out this year.

I'm still skeptical, I'll wait until the article comes out (or I hear from actually reliable sources) before I do the Halo dance.

For all we know they're just reprinting the rumors Joystiq was obsessed with a month ago to sell magazines.

Yup pretty much that is all it ever is minus the last one with the voice codec update.

I'm assuming this is about the Xbox World 360 cover? I can't see the image here. I saw it on HBO, though, and as I said over there, the issue apparently was released over two weeks ago. If there was anything substantial in there, we'd have heard already, don't you think?

This probably won't make sense, but I'm at work now so I can't post pictures of where it spawns. There's a sniper (on the side closest to the Hemorrhage beach) near the cliff facing the other team's base. It sits on a rock between the two little towers.
It's pretty much target practice if you avoid the falcon fire. I don't know where the sniper spawns on the other side

Played a little bit of Community BTB. I only played Rift and Bendarius Ridge so far but they seem pretty fun and definitely better than playing BTB on Hemmorage. The problem still lies with the community though as both games most of the players left towards the end.

I got in to the update as well. Hopefully the disc isn't just for the trial period since I have 3 xboxes here hooked up to my lan.

I'm assuming you read this on HBO, but it's not true. I don't know what the guy on HBO was looking at, but it wasn't ODST on Games on Demand. :)

Not trying to argue with you. I agree. But the way each player gets to their respective spots is by themselves. My play with randoms is not much different. I try and go to places that allow me to support the team. But I have a hard time sitting still. I like to be on the move.

Slayer Pro, wow I was disappointed with the map. They blocked off two large sections and put teleporters that lead to grenade pits.
Wtf? Bad first impression on that one.

Also I've been playing a lot of Arena games to get a rank. I'm liking the game play thats coming out of it. But it seems as though none of the good players in Reach are in the playlist. Everyone sucks!

That's an alternate version of the map called Uplink. The original Condemned is still intact.

This map is not called Uplink. It was terrible.
I know of Uplink and i've played it. This was different.

Oh wow. I missed that. One thing that confused me was that the map that was chosen was called Condemned. Maybe the game loaded a different choice unbeknownst to us.
Also with the little times I've played Uplink I never recalled teleporters. Sorry for the confusion.

Heh, even i've been doing quite well when i've played in there recently, so you might be right :p

I really like the changes that have been made to the playlist though, i definately prefer it over the standard TS playlist now.

I like Gear's story. Enjoyed Gears multiplayer when it didn't lag.

But it always lagged. It's just a very different type of shooter. There's nothing else like it.

So for the public beta for this dashboard/xbox update, are they sending out disc's to everyone that they choose?

I've had the disc for a couple of months though, but at that time it was just for Microsofties.

Anyone know what the best forged Turf remake is? If so, can I get a linktacular?
