I can’t imagine the stress of living next to and having to patiently deal with neighbours who hate and want you all indiscriminately dead like Israel does. I don’t think anyone from the outside truly does.
To watch the events of that massacre unfold and experience such rage as an outside party thousands of miles away; personally I’m amazed how restrained they are. They have real discipline, contrasting with the lazy minded, bullying mobs of terrorist supporters in the Western world and hand wring politicians and media enabling them.
I hope there isn’t a ground invasion because I don’t want to see more Israeli deaths. It’s only because of external pressure to stop the air strikes that they’ll need to go in at all.
I’m sorry for the Palestinians as well because they’re basically doomed with Hamas around. So only Israel can guarantee their safety and prosperity as well ultimately if they were capable of understanding that.

Ground invasion is how you maximize IDF casualties with no guarantee that Hamas or a Hamas equivalent doesn't rise from the ashes down the road. As long as the Palestinians support groups like Hamas they'll never be truly gone.

Best solution at this point is to displace the population completely, get a bunch of transport ships to bring in water and food and tents and kick them all out of gaza then seal it off, open a road through egypth with or without egypth support there choice and let them migrate towards muslim country's as result. The moment hte last one exit gaza the problem is now no longer isreals problem. And the world can watch how "reponsible and caring the muslim nations are".

Hamas exists only because they control the territory of Gaza. Without territory they would be like ISIS - irrelevant. When ISIS owned territory - they were strong because owning a land allows you to get money and resources (and human resources too). Without that, you are just of basic terrorist group.

I think by now it's pretty obvious the hostages will be collateral damage.
Even if Israel soldiers manage to somehow imprison Hamas in their own tunnels, most likely those same tunnels are C4 rigged to the teeth, in order to take everyone with them, in case they need to.
