DayZ is a good concept, but it was a terrible game. Considering they need the ArmA engine, I'm not expecting much.
I haven't played in a month or so, but I'll give it a shot again when 3.0 releases.

New Moon Queen model looks good and the others they showed off look closer to the original concept art, so I'll give it a thumbs up.

Were not sure when were gonna sit down and actually do it but 4 of munblefriends reinstalled the game. We played a few games the other day, made swiftlame mad, y'know, typical hon.

Tralfamadore leaving Honcast to go back to playing competitive HoN with One Trick Pony. Makes me sad, him and Breaky were such a great casting duo
I remember dropping the 30 dollars down for this back when it was in beta. I never got into it because of the community, but from spending some time with Dota I've kinda developed a tolerance for it. As somebody who's played lots of Dota2 and LoL, what's the big difference between HoN and those two?
More responsive engine, faster play, crappier hero design.

Free courier at start of game, no secret shop (Observatory that sells wards and health/mana pots), some unique heroes that are a lot of fun to play, no random gold outside of All Random.
A much better version of Single Draft than Dota 2 (Can't stand Dota 2 Single Draft)
Fun throwaway game mode in Mid Wars (1 lane, 5 mid, low respawn times)
Lockpick is the competitive game mode, requires you to have a group of 5 to play though

Probably the worst kept secret in HoN atm, you can now play Custom maps with other people online, and essentially LAN HoN. It maybe not be official, but S2 are allowing it, they just not gonna support or endorse it though.
Was promised many years ago, but S2 changed their minds, now some genius programmer made it possible.
S2 still aren't planning on implementing it officially which means we're on our own, but most of what is needed we already have. Someone even made a small GUI mod to make things easier, there are a few dedicated servers up which allows people to host some of the popular maps whenever they want to.
You require the binaries to host the servers, but joining servers only require you having the map and all this can be done while logged into the official HoN server. Being in the Valkwarz channel makes things much simpler.
Here's some of the maps that are being played atm, just a small preview.
Arena

This is an arena deathmatch map consisting of several rounds where you need to eliminate all the players of the opposing team (think counterstrike).
Each round gives you a random new hero with random items. This is the map was created by the guy who made it possible to play custom maps online.

Note that the video is 9 vs 8, default is 5 vs 5 but since we can basically host our own dedicated servers now, some limits can be removed now.
One hit, arrow/javelin kills. This is basically the map that started it all, gave the new mappers a pretty good base to work from.
The "ValkwarZ" channel was named in it's honor, this is the place in HoN where everyone gets together to play custom maps.

A small map I created when it became possible to play them online. Everyone is pebbles, they get a Hook (which can back hook), a codex and portal key. Teams must just kill each other until their lives run out. Codex does more damage when a unit is in the air, can throw other player wherever you want if it's within range etc. Just a fun, quick little chaotic map.

Apart from the new multiplayer maps, there are also some older and very well done single player maps, that people weren't even aware of that they could play it. This is probably the best one of the bunch and well done. Maybe with the recent events it could get updated and made even better than it is now, maybe get multiplayer support?
