[Jez Corden] Wukong Developer told Xbox there's a exclusive deal in place

Still this confusion. Nobody says anything right. What's the harm in letting people know straight away that the game is exclusive or that they simply don't intend to make an Xbox version? Or make those statements that there are no plans at the moment?

In August, at launch, there was already this mess.

Sony headquarters:
'hei guys, from now on lets make 2 year exclusivity deals and not tell anyone.'
Sony marketing:
'but we use them to make ads, and marketing thingys...'
Sony headquarters:
'heia, we want you guys to think beyond that, to creat the next big thing in advertising!'
Sony financials:
'so we are giving this guys money and dont get nothing in return?'
Sony headquarters:
'.....'
'financials, we'll be getting back on you on this one thank you.'

Because there is no exclusive and they do intend to make an xbox version. They are having trouble with the Series S. Just like Larian did. Just like several devs said would happen when the Series S specs were announced. Even devs from ID software complained about the series S specs when it was announced. MS and everyone was warned about the series s. Now the series s is having problems and people are like "what's going on here?".

So it doesn't hurt to clarify. Suffice it to say, "We are working on the Xbox version, we have encountered some challenges but we will soon make Wukong available to all Xbox fans."

Probably, given the fact of Chinese isolationism, developers shouldn't even be aware of this confusion in the West. Or they probably know and laugh at Westerners fighting on the internet.

They did say something along the lines of this initially when they were questioned about removing Xbox from the release date trailer. Then Jez and other Xbox sources started claiming this was a lie. The devs have now clarified it again for everyone and for some it's still not enough. They still think it's some secret deal with Sony.

What a ridiculous thing Xbox and its media terminals are doing with this issue, insinuating that Sony was to blame for paying when the only problem is Series S, if Sony had paid they would be announcing it at every opportunity...which didn't happen.
It keeps their loyal fans on side and prevents them from blaming xbox if they can blame an "enemy" and not see it as an alternative choice. Imagine being a Series X owner and having a game not coming to your console because of MS's daft decisions.

It's not even MS or Jez's first time bullshitting people. They did the same with BG3:

They have said exactly that and they have been very consistent about it.

“We are currently optimizing the Xbox Series X|S version to meet our quality standards, so it won’t release simultaneously with the other platforms,” the company said on Friday.

“We apologize for the delay and aim to minimize the wait for Xbox users. We will announce the release date as soon as it meets our quality standards.”

Jez Cordon went from High School to unemployed WoW player to blogger who happened to catch the eye of someone at Windows Central and has since attempted to hold on to the best thing he’s able to find relative to his poor work history and education.

He has to grift to be relevant and employed.

Its not exclusive due to a money hat. If so, Sony would have marketed it to hell and back.

Sony hiding an exclusive moneyhat? LMAO they've been coasting the gen with majority of fake exclusives, why there would be a secret about this specific game?

If there was a moneyhat, Sony would 100% shout it from the rooftops, no need for a conspiracy, Jizz can't cope with reality, devs don't have the expertise and don't care much about porting it quick to Xbone S which is needed because of the parity clause in order to port the game to Series X

The only solution that makes sense is this:

Sony sent engineers to help the Wukong devs and largely succeeded in making it run on PS5/PS5 Pro (albeit imperfectly), Microsoft didn't do the same (or at least their engineers didn't have a solution for the Series S), and now they had to save face on why the single biggest new IP of 2024 didn't launch day 1 on their device despite being promised, so they sent in their PR reps and weirdos to cover their asses with this drivel. Now we're seeing chickens roost and idiots backtracking in real time.

It's for the entertainment value of watching this process unfold over and over again.

Considering Xbox seems to mostly be staffed by PR people these days, this sounds about right.

Even funnier is that Jez can’t let go of Windows Phone dying an ugly death.
I've seen him mourn the demise of Mixer as well. lol
I've said this before, but I think this is his weird form of attempting to blackmail Satya into not shuttering the console business.

"Ohhh you wouldn't want to be responsible for another Windows Phone"

Nevermind that closing Mixer was actually a positive for them, none of these livestreaming sites make any profits sans maybe YouTube.
