Given the state of the game, it's quite possible. I started on 1.20, so my saves could be messed up.
I'm going to start fresh on some really good patch in the future. If bows, stealth, and stuff are the same, I think I'll just focus on melee and brute force. Grinding pickpocket and lockpicking was boring too.
I can do archery contests easily because you have a standstill point of reference by using the archery target. I know where to aim exactly where and when to loose at the archery target for bullseye. It's not the same when you're out in the forest even against a still rabbit, or an enemy that's jerking about. Yeah, it's realistic. If you miss your arrow, you pull out your sword, but it still means bow isn't fun in a gamey way.
Speaking of archery contests, I remember doing them and they ended up bugged because I would shoot all my arrows, and one or both contestants don't even shoot, so I have to disqualify myself because it won't end because they won't do anything lol.
