Kojima says too many games look the same, won't be playing the MGS remake

There wasn't a lot of AAA games in the past 2 years.

To this day, MGS5 is still the best stealth game in terms of game mechanics.
And if this was enough for you thats great ... for me all I can say is I loved every MGS including MGS4 and its for sure my favorite series of games of all time, and I couldn't pass the two hour mark on this turd of a MGS game.

Is he wrong though? He isn't. Most games feel the same

Copy pasta industry following trends where special games gets released rarely

People here saying he's right.

Then they keep buying that same shit and gobbling up remakes over and over again. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Well I do think he's right and how right! But I don't buy same shit and don't give a damn about remakes, although I will surely have exceptions here and there.
I've been saying for long time now that most games are samey and most AAAs just copy one another soullessly and pitifully, I don't even need more than 5 fingers to count how many original devs with integrity are active today.

Well he's not wrong and as for the other comment...his team did have training for MGS2 & 3
This is well documented, but knowing and doing is two different things.
As for not playing the Remake....what creator does?

Kojima haters: oh my god is he a pretentious asshole. He must be sniffing his own farts the whole day. Is there any human in history that is more obnoxious than him? He has never made a good game, takes forever to make one and then it has absolutely no mechanics whatsoever. His fans are the most stupid people on earth
I don't like him and I don't care for his games, but I must tell everyone how I feel about him, there is no other way. Everyone else has to be wrong

Which is kind of petty if true, since Okamura, Korekado, and others who are in charge of MGS seem to respect him.

David Hayter also moved on, played MGSV after being replaced by Kiefer, liked it, and is now pretty much the face of franchise.
Agreed. I respect Kojima a lot, but the people who kicked him out at Konami are not running the company now. A lot of the people currently working on MGS now, such as the individuals you mentioned, are all longtime colleagues of his from his Konami days and they speak highly of him when they can.

At the very least, he should wish his old colleagues the best even if he doesn't intend on playing Delta himself, rather than laughing at the mere suggestion.

I remember Mikami playing the RE4 Remake. Seems like he might be the outlier though.

I actually agree with Kojimas take here and I think the main reason a lot of games look alike is because a lot of them are using Unreal 5. Kojima came from an era where most devs built their own engines to make their games.

Not a complaint, criticism or anything like that it's just an observation. I'd like to see more games made using in-house engines/tech and will go the extra click to find and support them.

This guy is completely right. Its not that I thought about it at first, but I play less and less AAA games. It just gradually happened. A lot of it is similar bloated slop. Huge timesinks, and you've already seen it.

With saying this though, I also put Death Stranding 2 on hold. Yes its different, but its also an open world 50+ hour game. I can't find the time and mindset to sit down for this stuff. Though I liked DS1 a ton, 6 years ago.

Right now its Capcom fighting collection, Ninja Gaiden Ragebound and soon Shinobi. Those games you fire up, and you start. And you can put them away, and immediately get into them again should you want to continue.
