Finished my last placement. Volibear for the win. Extreme tankiness and let the carries do their job. Still secured 12 kills though? lol.

5-5 placements. Gold IV. Whew.. No Silver. Thank goodness. Only one division lower than I finished last season. Nice 4 game win streak to close that out. Was ugly at first ha.

Talents wasn't kidding about Gold II. I was a little happy when I got mid Gold I, but then had the worst week of League I can remember. I'm going to be taking a looooong break before trying for Plat someday.

Maybe all of these Plat 5s will be demoted by then. -.-

It's all about the mind share. all of them being announced in a single conference was astounding.

It WAS pretty good.

But this seems like they type of thing where everyone can garnish some goodwill. As a FFXIV fan i am glad that it won't be the only thing keeping S.E. afloat anymore outside mobile games.

You don't win when your best game announced is a timed exclusive, lol.

That's a win for square, not a win for Sony.

It's a FF game, which happens to be VII remade, on a PlayStation home console, which happens to be PS4. Sales on other platforms would range from "a fraction" to "statistically irrelevant" by comparison, even if it was a day and date multiplat release. The exclusivity factor is a moot point.

also tlg and robot dinosaurs

robot dinosssssssss

Idk. The point is that they had the best conference for me. If MS showed it, I would have awarded the points for them only. Sony won for me because they made 3 very unlikely rumors possible in one hour, on top of having a mostly good presentation. They even showed TLG right at the gate, which I expected to be shown somewhere last if it ended up being true. I actually didn't bother tuning in until 5 mins since I expected that it might be delayed a bit or it'll be the usual boring sales talk intro. I streamed right in the middle of TLG which made me go "wut?" and consider that the other rumors might be real.

You can have an amazing lineup but a boring presentation which cancel each other out. I think No Man's Sky as a game is interesting, but the demonstration is not good so it kinda canceled out for me. I forgot which game it was, but there was a really awkward conference a few years ago. The guy was talking about a game... and talk and talk for like 20 mins. There's only a logo, but no screenshots or video. The game could be really mindblowing but it was such an utterly boring part of their conference, so it ended up being a negative for me.

Uh, thanks for proving my point?

Strictly on its home turf, at its popularity peak, with a highly anticipated game that got a lot of buzz for being multiplat and against the "weakest" iteration of the PS home systems, the Xbox brand managed about 1/2 (a fraction) of what the PS3 version did.

Now consider current market trends, genre demographics and Type-0's performance.

I think the problem with the NMS demo is that it's missing the involvement factor. It showed some stuff you can do but to properly appreciate you need to get actively invested on the exploration part and earn your discoveries yourself.

Kinda like ICO. From a quick look at a vertical slice you'd be looking at an escort mission with some really light platforming/puzzle solving. You'd miss the attachment to the characters that's meant to develop as the game progresses and that, by the end of the journey, has you jumping back of your own volition.

On a more on-topic subject, i just saw that pool party reksai skin and realized i need it

The funny thing with the NMS sky demo is that it was clearly given by a guy frustrated that people still don't get his game, but who doesn't know how to help people get his game

at one point it seemed like he was up there just to be like "okay fine here's some shit you can do. happy? Also, you can do these things: trading shooting blah blah blah."

(I think pool party rek'sai looks bad)

i would like to sell 1/3 less of something overall. statistically irrelevant.

all league players please spend 1/3 of your rp buying me mystery gifts. these numbers are too small to notice.

In my mind, Nintendo wins as they always do. Sony and MS tend to always lose. I feel like MS won over Sony this time with the whole backwards compatibility thing.

Then again, stuff like first on X console hardly matters to me. The fact that FF sells higher on PS consoles is irrelevant as it's a single player game.

If a game isn't an exclusive to a console, it still has an impact, but that impact is greatly reduced.

If there was ONE time in the history of E3's to NOT go to sleep for it, it was this.
Then again, my girlfriend has an exam in an hour, and she would not have appreciated me crying, laughing, and screaming at the same time in 5am in the morning.

So, since Shenmue 3 is real, I can be a gold player.
I can do ANYTHING now.

NMS really does feel like the kind of game you'd be better off "getting it" by yourself than having someone tell/show bullet points. Hopefully it won't end up like Spore.

(I think pool party rek'sai looks bad)

It's alright IMO. Nothing too fancy.

But I just look at this and feel it's my civic duty to support and encourage this concept.

Nice selective quoting. I provided a range there, from "statistically irrelevant" to "a fraction". This means, as it is easily deductible, that in a best case scenario it would do considerably less and in a not best case scenario it'd go even lower (down to an irrelevant quantity, in an absolute worst case scenario).

So, while the base amount you're applying the percentages could be high enough that this fraction covers stuff like porting costs, in the grand scheme of things the sales difference between full exclusivity, timed and none at all is likely to be quite limited. Therefore, the importance of exclusivity is diminished, unless you're counting fanboy list wars, I suppose.

So, since Shenmue 3 is real, I can be a gold player.
I can do ANYTHING now.

Eh, let's not get carried here. I have seen your jungle Nidalee (^:

I like her best mid but that's... Not the opinion others will give you if you lock her mid

sorry for the late rep but I'm confused as to what build path I should pursue.

The game recommends standard ADC builds while some of the D1 videos I watched on youtube uses more ms items such as Zephyr and Black Cleaver.

I tried out both of them and it seems that ADC path does more damage but has less utility while the other build path kinda makes Quinn into an assassin.

I'm a top main. What build path would you recommend?

yeah her ult is cool as hell but they stripped away all the cool sleek monster-y stuff about rek'sai and made her this really ugly sea monster and her textures honestly make me think of pre-texture update champs like cho and taric.

Think of the backlash if they don't make this right. THEY HAVE TO.

This is the reserve they've been saving. If they mess this up, the future of SE will be dark.
I think it has taken so much time and hype that it's near-impossible to live up to the fan expectations.

Honestly, in terms of appeasing to a larger audience, MS probably did a better job than Sony.

Like, sure. The announcement of TLG and Shenmue 3 were MASSIVE for people who actually paid attention to what was going on regarding those games.

To any other person, they just seem like any old exclusive game. MS had some huge bombs, with the backwards compatibility, new controller (although it's pricy as hell), and new UI AND some cool games. Sony just had games.

Hey we can't all be rich to buy all them 'elite' custon buttons yo. Not with this RP economy.

BC is really big, but is the controller really even that big of a deal? I don't see it selling a lot outside enthusiasts. BC is the only one I would count as a megaton. Rare Replay is cool. Ion would have been bigger news if the scope wasn't massive and if it didn't come from someone known to fail at delivering.

I dunno, I got wicked hyped for it when it was shown off.

Then I saw the price point.

6 build Skarner 30minutes in but I couldn't carry the intentionally feeding duo bot

Sad times.

I don't know what happened but I don't even care after I took my 1-2 month break from the grind. Feels pretty nice to just mute all and play the game.

Dodge duo bot always.

I love it when the enemy adc walks near Braum when he has his shield up for those guaranteed double-bubbles, or even when he uses his shield for a guaranteed single-bubble. Braum must learn that his shield is a liability sometimes.

Dobkeratops

tbh Braum's shield not blocking the first ability effect (CC) along with the damage negation is very counter-intuitive.

I would be lying if I said I don't enjoy that it makes it easier to land bubbles when I'm playing Nami tho

I always get mad at myself when I play a pretty solid jungle game - warding, sweeping, ganking, objective control and look at the match history later and realize I didn't buy a single pink ward.

It's the one thing I'm still failing to do on a regular basis. I need to consciously remember to do that and get them in solid defensive positions. A ward that lasts forever could save a life or two.

Play support for a while, it really gets you into the habit of making sure all wards are up. If you ever forget your team will be sure to remind you and yell at you :)
