maybe she's bugged and doing more damage/taking less than she actually should?

She's had a ~54% win rate in the jungle for the past two patches.

It's due to overshooting her recent buff but also to a lesser extent it's due to a reduction in the efficiency of early ganking tanks/bruisers that had been dominating. Quite a few power farming/level 6 dependent junglers have been seeing steady win rate rises patch after patch as a consequence. Notables examples include Nocturne, Diana, and Vi.

Does anyone have any specific advice for staying alive more with Sona? I'm running something like 16/14 or 14/16 masteries, and even so I tend to die 9+ times a game.

Some of those are me being stupid and forgetting I can't just go ward tribush from bot lane alone without dying, but still, it seems excessive. Several of them may also be from saving teammates -- I feel like I'll get yelled at if I don't help them, and no one will care if I do save them but die doing it, so I'm not sure about the proper way to play.

Build better items and play more safely.
I understand that in THEORY, but in PRACTICE I'm bad at figuring it out. I think I normally go spellthief, sightstone, mikael's / locket, other stuff.

I max Q. The mana cost on W is so high, and if I max Q later I feel like the pitiful damage it does would be pretty useless.

Nocturne will get even better with the new Devourer.

<3

It seems that this patch they're making squishy junglers viable. Yi, Nocturne, and uh..other auto attackers will benefit from it. Udyr can go either way.

Atleast Riot is learning how to make all the junglers viable and not just pigeon hole in one or two viable picsk.

record and watch replays. not gonna lie it's really hard to realize all the little "oh shit I shouldn't have been doing that" moments if you don't do so. The super obvious moments of a poor decision isn't what you're watching a replay for, chances are those moments will stand out in your mind already. keep danger zones around certain champs so you're never surprised by a certain ability. when warding/moving about think about risk vs reward. If dangerous champs are mia then ask for an escort before moving out to dangerous areas. If your team wants to win they'll respect that and help you establish vision control. Sometimes you'll die simply because you're easier to kill than a carry (especially if you burn flash ulting), if someone plays that greedily that they'll blow stuff on you then hopefully your team capitalizes on it. If your carry or mid is fed then just use your stuff for them and stick to the backline. Frontline/assassins are gonna die no matter what so unless they're your only hope you don't want to spend too much on them. Let em die and support that potato marksman to a quadra kill while he pines about himself in chat.

Aside from recording yourself, watch pro support players. I learned alot from just watching pro tops or jungles or whatever, that I get a sense of what to do and when to do it when you see the same thing happen over and over again.

My 4.8 kda on zac has translated to a 43% win rate. Not sure if it's just bad luck or if I'm doing something wrong. I'm gonna keep rolling with him bc he's my favorite jungler atm but it's pretty frustrating so if the trend continues i may have to switch it up

I know you sort of can, but it'd be nice if Riot added this feature so I don't have to try to use one of the third-party sites. :p
If you want I found this super easy, don't have to download or install anything, it just sends a replay to your email everytime you play a game, then just copy and paste the code in your command prompt and it loads.(I'd create an email just for it if you play a lot of games)

lol why? the other 3 sheen items would all be better on him if you're a laner, whether you want to go trinity,IBG, or lichbane.

Think I read that q with runeglaive activates luden's now.

Seems to me we're heading to some wickedly strong poke mid laners in Kog, Ez, Varus and my favorite Corki.

Did Shyvana get buffed recently? I've seen 2 in the jungle today and both times they pooped on my team.

One of them took smite/exhaust and was constantly counter-jungling me and being generally annoying. Her damage is absurd and you can't really itemize against her, so she's impossible to 1v1.

I've been pretty negative about the devourer changes bc i hate playing aa junglers so if it takes over I'll probably start to lose a lot but what would actually be kinda cool is if jungle became a kind of rock paper scissors with devourer junglers generally beating tanks because they outscale them and can double proc bork, warrior junglers beating devourer junglers bc they spike earlier and can bully/counterjungle hard, and tanks beating warrior just like they generally do now

I main Sona in ranked, but I wouldn't call myself a pro, but hope I can help out.

Yes maxing out Q first is a good idea, here's what I do in each game
1- Get Q and cast it to charge her pasive
2- if I am helping jungler, I cast a q at monster, if I am not helping I just cast a 2nd q to charge for the 3rd
3- Just poke with Q+Auto but manage your range and positioning

As for items: Don't max out spellthief, spend 500 on it to make it a little stronger, and leave it there as is

Get sightstone>Mikael>Locket/Frozen heart

For boots I personally like to go cooldown boots, then sell it off once I have 30-40% cooldown without it.

At end game, replace Spellthief with an AP item like Rabadon, lich Bane or Luden

Match ups will affect what you build; if enemy team has heavy AD but limited CC or no aoe spells , you don't need to get Locket, this way you have 2 spaces for AP items, so you could consider Rabadon to give your abilities a decent boost.

If enemy is heavy AP and limited AD (or AD champ isn't an auto attacker), forgo Frozen Heart.

While Mobi boots are understandable, I much prefer getting defensive boots or the white boots.

I usually don't have a problem with warding the bot river at the tribush or river bush and I manage to ward the tribush safely 90% of the time due to the enemy team being far behind from the turret.

For runes and masteries, consider these

Though you shouldn't follow it 100% percent :p

If you are playing Sona you should really know that fully charging her passive makes your auto attack reset.

The single best harass combo Sona can do in lane is to have 2 stacks, then auto->Q->auto for an incredibly fast auto + Q + Q empowered power chord.

You are wasting a lot of her power if you don't utilize the auto attack reset.

I would assume so. Give it a try and see what happens, I don't think motherboards can output a signal up to 5 ghz.

Tried a few games on wifi. I didn't get the disconnects, but I'd get a lag spike here and there, just sending my ping up from 87 to around 200 for a second or two.

Then I tried a few games on ethernet and had a steady 85 ping the whole game every game.

It's strange though. I've never had spikes like this before. I was on an ethernet connection at my previous home. I played regularly on wifi at friend's houses and never had problems with lag spikes. Actually, occasionally they would have to reset their router for my laptop to connect. I would get a limited connection when connecting for the first time of the day at times. I dunno if that's relevant or not though.

Also, last night I updated the driver for my wireless card, but that didn't change anything. It's an Intel Centrino Wireless-N 2200. I was doing a little research and found out that it doesn't support 5GHz for wifi, only 2.4GHz. So knowing that, I couldn't give the other connection a try to see if it changed anything.

So would my best bet now be to buy an external wireless usb adapter? I was looking on Amazon and saw some for around $30. If you have any recommendations that'd be cool. Thanks.

So our Nida starts being toxic and cost us the damn game

we were behind in turrets but our Riven and Vi couldve helped us win if they didn't solo.

Doesn't help that our Ez seems to have gone afk near end of the game =_=

This is the one I use and it works fine. Says desktop but should work with your Laptop too I suppose? I dunno!

Shyvana is so strong right now. Secret op. Apparently less of a secret now. She rarely stays op for long though. Enjoy the freelo while it lasts. I rode her to some easy wins last season when she had a small spike with feral flare. New devourer will be pretty sick on her.

I don't know how people play with so many champs and change between them easily. I am mainly Seju and Morgana player (and play Ashe if I have to) and I cannot, for the life of me, play as any other character. The movement, the skill required and the strategies are staggeringly different.

I was recently pushed to play as Gargas and I was struggling. died alot and didn't how on earth should I even attack with him. I liek that he is slower, therefore more methodical, but in a team fights, I was lost.

I also tried Vi last week and I was as bad. ( I felt even worse when I read online that she is an easy champ to learn...)

Play more games and watch more lol videos I guess.

Mechanical knowledge about the champion may be hard to master but game knowledge on what to do and when to do them increases the more you play.

I don't have to be an ADC main to know what I need to do when I am an ADC. Of course there's bound to be people more skilled than you but at least you're not feeding or anything.

Being in the same situation as you, I was forced to play Gragas earlier whom I have a grand total of 0 games played since I bought him but since I have played against, with and watched videos of him being played, I had a general knowledge of how to play as him.

Following item build paths, skill order and general match up strategies from mobafire or some other guides works as well. Trying out the general build first then expanding from there on depending on your match ups makes you a better *insert champion* player than before.

Just finished my preliminary ranked games (the 10 games) and I got Silver II, wat? I thought you would start Bronze and go up from there!

Yeah, figured as much. I suppose playing with them more would actually help, I do watch a lot of tourney matches, and while they are enjoyable, I don't think they never help me directly in learning various champs they utilise.

But I guess, I should just play the game more and see where I land with these champs!

Your initial rank depends on your placement matches. With a fresh account you can get Gold 1 as the best result. An account with a previous rank can get plat 1.

So... I hate the odds of me unlocking Teemo with the free mystery champion that Rito is going to give us.

I want anything but Teemo (or Aatrox). I hope I can "refund" it or something, if it came down to it.

25% of getting something I don't want.

:(

Get a free mystery skin if you have less than 10 champs left.
