i mean, i get what you mean, it's similar to sona's auras in that best case scenario is so good that it makes the spell hard to balance
but imo it's wind wall has nothing to do with why yasuo got nerfed or why he was ever frustrating to play against
if anything wind wall is like the most interesting thing about playing against him, the mind games that occur around it and how it gives him some bit of utility that means he doesn't have to be ultra fed (or at least hitting his item spikes) to be relevant
like when you say things like "Riot could put the rank 5 CD of Wind Wall on a 1 minute timer and it'd still be pretty damn good. How many basic abilities could suffer that sort of nerf and still be useful?" my answer is still threshie lantern. they took out most of the shields, reduced them, they can give it more cd, and it's still gamebreaking in the bestest of ways, which is what i'd argue wind wall is too. windwall can full stop kill syndra ult, and lantern can magically create ganks and make people safely try to steal dragons and escape certain death. they're great spells imo
and wind wall can be similarly nerfed around the edges, duration can be nerfed, it can be given a certain health that scales with rank, width, cd, etc.
i mean he maxes it second cos it's by far better than maxing that dash armor thingie.
but braum's a similar case, he got other parts of his kit nerfed while his wall remained mostly untouched
and like braum wall is super annoying too, try playing nami against that asshole lol

and in s4 there was still j4, eve, elise (i think? forgot), etc. lee sin every game but there was always a rammus or amumu or whatever running around

I have about 70 champions. I stopped buying them some time ago (with an occasional exception) because I already have more champions than I can reasonably play, and most of the remaining ones don't interest me very much.
If I played 2 games a day on average (which is generous, as obviously I go days without playing sometimes) and played a different champion in each game (again, generous), it would take me more than a month just to play through my current roster once. Now add another 40 champions and it would take me closer to 2 months.
If there is some particular champion I decide I really like and definitely want to play, then I buy it, sure. But I've already mostly done that. Spending the IP just doesn't serve any practical purpose for me.
Edit: I have 17 runepages and most but not all runes. The only runes I don't own are played by nobody. I could proooobably finish the whole set of champions if I just blew all my IP all at once, but I'm not sure of that.

I mean, I don't think you can really compare things like this. Braum maxes shield because it's tied to his core design. Wind Wall does not define Yasuo, it's just a tool in his kit. They are good for different reasons. Braum's shield is ideal for a tank looking to soak damage for his team, because him being able to move means the protection he can provide is more exact. Yasuo is an assassin, so he is looking to negate all incoming damage even if that means the ability is less versatile. It's a tool to delay a fight until an opening appears for Yasuo to attack.
A control tool for an assassin specialist is less useful than a control tool for a control specialist.
As such, a good control tool for someone who is already good at control can be more useful than an excellent control tool for someone who isn't really there to control the fight in the first place.
And vice versa, of course.

I don't play mid m8 but I think my build was the least of the problems. Gnar, Shen (who fought me for support) and Rengar had no clue.
I should have dodged at team select tbh.

So they added music and a new comendator telling when a tower or dragon is destroyed like heroes, ok good, quite surprising but okay.
I got mad when DJ Sona (red one) music crash with the new music making the music go mute. Is the comendator and pirate music going to be permanent or something?
The UI is kinda clutered but I guess its only a matter of getting comfortable with the changes

It's just for the event but I'm hoping they keep the Bilgewater music as an option for SR, too good
It's just for the duration of the bilgewater event, which could be like two or three weeks tops. It will most likely be gone next patch.

To be fair, I didn't originally bring up the comparison. I think it was zkylon who kick started the comparison.
I wrote "in a vacuum" purposefully because as you point when you look at the kits holistically you see why the walls are the way they are for each champion but that just ends up muddying things when we're trying to make apples-to-apples comparisons.
Any rate, the original discussion was which basic ability is the most broken and I still think it's Wind Wall. Braum's Wall doesn't really enter that conversation at all, really. Its balance points and fit into Braum's kit are healthy, as is Braum's kit overall, but that's a whole other unexciting discussion.
The same Zyra mid who has an above average win rate and is among the top 5 in damage dealt as a mid? There's much, much worse role/champion combinations to be forced into.

Tahm has become my new favorite support to hate playing against down bottom, so this felt pretty damn good last night. Kind of funny since Archaic is a friend of mine who is pretty decent, but we're on completely different brainwaves when it comes to strategy and such. We'd played a few games ADC/Support together prior, and did awful. Then I got paired with this stranger playing Vayne, and we just clicked. Felt good, considering my losing streak.

First time I heard it I thought I was in a HotS match in the pirate map.
I have a 27 inch G Synch 144hz monitor waiting for me at home. It's going to be weird not playing on a 42 inch TV 2 feet away from my face...
