Forgive me for daring to ask a question in order to clarify whether a belief I had was correct or not.
I don't think the answer to that question is on a video game forum

I just finished episode 2 of Sense8 and I have no idea what this show is about. Whats the Mexican actors name? Ohhh my. Yes, please.
I'm on the fifth episode of The 100. So far I'm loving it. The acting isn't brilliant by any means but, lets be honest, who's watching it for that when you have such beautiful people on screen 99% of the time? The entire premise of the show is pretty cool, too, although it's definitely a 'stick with it' kinda show.
Wait you like the choking? D:
I like bad boys too they're lots of fun.i'm more shocked he's still alive TBH.
There's really no point to this post.

I also started watching (I'm up to episode 3) but it isn't convincing me, the diversity of the cast seems forced for some reason, and all the stories are so lame... I'm intrigued by the korean girl but that is about it. Eye candy is great of course but we can get such things elsewhere, this is 2015 I want a good story. I kind of have an idea where its going, that everyone is interconnected or something, but it's not working for me.
Is the Mexico storyline just going to be some awkward comic relief? It's really jarring going from storylines about murders and drugs to "I'll be your beard!" storyline, it's kind of insulting in a way.
Jeez, of all the places to see this being said I wasn't expecting this thread.the diversity of the cast seems forced for some reason
So it shouldn't be in there at all because you have access to porn? rightEye candy is great of course but we can get such things elsewhere, this is 2015
Keep watching. SPOILERS: It takes a turn in episode 4.Is the Mexico storyline just going to be some awkward comic relief? It's really jarring going from storylines about murders and drugs to "I'll be your beard!" storyline, it's kind of insulting in a way.

Of course the stories are lame, you are only 3 episodes in, keep watching. This is the very definition of a binge series, stopping after 3 episodes because it's a slow burn is stupid.

Stereotypes aren't representation. I haven't seen the show and only base that off of your impressions.I used to look for representation and inclusion and I also took anything they throw at me, but those times are in the past and I think we should also demand quality, just because you have some gay guys in their undies and a transgirl with a explicit sex scene in a series should not be enough, I don't think its an outlandish complain.
I'll watch a couple of episodes more to make up my mind.
Thinking about it the diversity sticks out like sore thumb because while it has a "multicultural" "multieithnic" "multigendered" etc etc cast they all fall into the most terrible stereotypes that it nullifies any positives you could have about a cast that aims to be diverse. Indian girl with issues about arranged marriage, with everything up to a freaking bollywood number! African kid with issues about poverty and violence. Asian girl of course is a trained martial fighter. I'm surprised there is not a drug trafficker related sub plot with the gay mexican gays...
Except that there totally is! I really hope is just a red herring.

It's one reason I refuse to get rid of my Wii; on the off chance that I ever have massive amounts of gaming time again in the future, I'm replaying it. Many, many nights were spent with HylianGreg trying to figure-out those stages.
...
And Mo Rocca? YES.
I don't think it's stereotypical in a bad way though because the characters and plotlines are obviously influenced by the cultures they live in.Thinking about it the diversity sticks out like sore thumb because while it has a "multicultural" "multieithnic" "multigendered" etc etc cast they all fall into the most terrible stereotypes that it nullifies any positives you could have about a cast that aims to be diverse. An African guy struggling with poverty, violence and AIDS, how stereotypical! It's almost like he lives in a povery struck area of Africa, perish the thought!
I'm sorry but they are in Nairobi, that city is bigger than freaking Chicago. We are talking about lots of people there not exactly struggling with poverty, violence and aids, not in the way the show portrays Nairobi as one big slum anyway. There are millions of low to middle class africans not living in slums and their struggles and lives are always completely ignored in these shows.
I'm glad we wet visibility of trans people in a way no show of this size or budget has ever done, so it pains it falters so much with all these other groups of people. It's obviously thanks to Lana, and that is perfectly fine with me, but it's also a huge missed opportunity, when are we going to get to see Nairobi again in a sci-fi show, or any kind of show for that matter, really? That's why the inclusion of Africa and africans feels hollow, it's almost like they were creating a checklist of "diversity and inclusion" and really didn't bother to portray all these complex and rich scenarios, cultures and people. But I guess is a case of the Wachowskis aiming way too high and missing the point completely as they always do.
I can only take your word for it that it will subvert all these stereotypes, which is why I'm giving the show a chance. Anyway I will take this discussion to the OT to not clutter lettersGAF with blocks of text
Also it is funny how you say that the issue with the Indian girl is her arranged marriage. Almost like you didn't watch the episode. The whole thing is that it isn't an arranged marriage. Her parents and friends all believe it to be a love marriage. She is doing it because she wants to make her parents happy. But in no way is the marriage arranged.
Definitely, it's amazing.

That was poorly worded on my part, but I don't know the exact term, the thing is that it's not consensual marriage (does that term even exist?) and those stories compose 99% of Bollywood. I'm exaggerating of course , but it couldn't be more of a stereotype about India if it actually tried.
I am interviewing for a couple of internships and one of them is for a small acupuncture clinics group and the other is for a big national health/awareness/research organization. I doubt it matters much as far as what I'll be doing at these places, but I think simply because one is more recognizable I will go with it if I'm offered the position.
Another thing to consider is working at an acupuncture place could look bad to future employers because acupuncture is a pseudoscience.I am interviewing for a couple of internships and one of them is for a small acupuncture clinics group and the other is for a big national health/awareness/research organization. Thanks. The bigger place sounds better in every way now that I've had my first conversations about them so I will definitely take the bigger brand if they offer.I think that makes sense. If the internship is purely a "stepping stone" position and you have no career aspirations at either of these companies, going with the name that will be more recognizable or seem more prestigious for future employers will likely help you more. The only reason why I might suggest the opposite is if the smaller group is going to give you better experience and skills you can talk about in interviews that align more closely with your plans for your future career. For your own sake, you also might want to consider how enjoyable the experience will be, but if you're set on this being a position you take to ensure a better future, that "eyes on the prize" mentality might make it all worth it.
Good luck with the interviews!
I got nervous on the phone when they had me on hold because I started giggling at their hold message saying "Are you struggling with weight loss, stress, hot flashes, staying focused, or maintaining energy?" It was an ad and it made me think that I'll find anti-GMO people there who will make me pull my hair out due to frustration.Another thing to consider is working at an acupuncture place could look bad to future employers because acupuncture is a pseudoscience.

Well it's more like he presented the obvious evidence (along with misinterpreted evidence) and I didn't deny it. (EDIT: Though I did finally say the words "Yes, I am gay.")

what is a "bisexual"
what is a "bisexual"
an apparition.
A couple people have heard, but yesterday I came out to my dad. Although coming out implies more assertiveness on my part.
And yet at the same time he asks "If you were feeling this way since you were 16 (25 now), why did you never come to me about it?". Well, what were you expecting?
The 2015 Trial and Tribulation Train just doesn't stop it seems.
Could we not do the "disparage the bisexuals for lulz" dance again? It is tiring, exclusionary and seriously your "jokes" aren't getting any better.
it was clearly a very light hearted joke

In this thread, people are either gay or not gay. There is no inbetween. The sooner you understand that the better. And I'm saying that your joke isn't a very good one and isn't making me feel welcome in this thread. We've been through this before.

Do you really need me to explain? I thought your "What is a bisexual?" joke explains it better than what I ever could. Joking or not, outsiders and newcomers will see that shit and be reluctant to join this community, fearing the same homophobic attitude on here that they face in real-life.do you want a spoon to stir with? enlighten us to how you think this is true cos that is quite a sweeping statement
I sort of know what you are trying to get at. And I don't think a term exists. But it isn't an arranged marriage, nor it is forced on her in anyway.
Went to Costa again today and saw the cute guy with the blue ponytail, but he was going on a smoke break and he let down his hair and it was GLORIOUS.
his hair, beard, piercings, smile, everything, hmmmmm.
On a completely unrelated note I'm feeling very lonely today and could do with a cuddle
Still a mystery!did we ever find out if he was the author of the anthro porn notebook.

You.It's jokes like those that do make me wish bisexuals were more equally represented in the media alongside everyone else. Or at least more exposure to the idea that sexuality is not straightforward or black and white as some people think it is.
For me, I feel like it's a lot harder to be bisexual in some ways than it is to be just straight, gay, or lesbian. As you don't fit the mold of the above mentioned, so your seen with some level of scorn from both gays and straights (not all, but some) as being indescisive about your own sexuality. I have had people on both sides of the fence personally attack me for being bisexual, telling me that you're just going through a phase, you've got one foot still stuck in the metophorical closet and you need to decide who you are, and other such demeaning things.
Sexuality to me is complex, with varying shades of grey. All of us are different and no two people are the same in terms of sexuality. I lean towards the gay end of the spectrum, but that doesn't mean I'm not open to having a relationship with a woman if the chance arises and there is chemistry between us. So please, don't make those joke about how bisexuality doesn't exist as they are not funny in the slightest.
