What is LIMBO?

LIMBO is the winner of two Independent Game Awards at GDC for Visual Art and Technical Excellence. LIMBO won 4 "Best of E3" awards from several known websites in the industry. LIMBO is a part of the Xbox Live Arcade "Summer of Arcade" promotion and will be launching July 21, 2010 for 1200 Microsoft Points.

Ok, that's fine, but you still haven't told me what LIMBO is!

In Catholic theology, Limbo (Latin limbus, edge or boundary, referring to the "edge" of Hell) is a speculative idea about the afterlife condition of those who die in original sin without being assigned to the Hell of the damned.

But more appropriately: LIMBO follows a little boy who travels to the edge of Hell in order to find out what happened to his sister. This boy will have to traverse deadly obstacles in order to unravel the mystery surrounding his sibling's fate. The game is a black and white side scrolling puzzle platformer set in a creepy heavily atmospheric environment.

From what I understand, there's no narrative, but the "story" is told through your character's interactions. In other words, as you journey through Limbo, your visual clues give you small details about where you actually are and what may have happened.

I've been following this one since a few Giantbombcast ago. The way Drew and Vinny explained it piqued my interests(I liked games like Flashback and Out of this world). Then seeing the quick look sold me on it.

Super excited for this one since the day I watched the game in motion. The art style is absolutely beautiful. This may end up being my favorite game of the summer. Can't wait!

One is a Limbo T-shirt that is unlocked at the same time you get one of the achievements and the other is a pet that I'm not quite sure what it is, but hoping its that mean looking spider. Dont know when that one unlocks.
