I don't think so. Hope wasn't 100%. The other speculation was that USA threw the match because Japan recently had an earthquake. Whoever wins the Olympics imo is the real winner of the World Cup.

Ok, now this is some crazy salt-inspired bullshit. Wowza.

fouling at crunch time a natural part of basketball, man.

Of course it is but if one is going to go about how sport is just so pure and everyone is just there to have fun then it is not really "good sport" to intentionally foul in order to have a small chance to win.

Back to the penal colony.

I find it hard to believe that you would throw a match like that no matte the circumstance.
Who lost to Japan in the WC.

They lost in a shootout which to me is a big difference in comparison to losing in regulation. I admit I don't watch a ton of soccer, but to me it would seem that a shootout is basically a coin toss to some degree.

That's sounds like an excuse more than anything else.

It is also important to remember that the events are not held on the same days as they were in Beijing. In Beijing are first medals were rowing I believe when in this Olympics we got the same rowing medals on like day 4.
Right, forgot about that (Men's Eight last time was August 17th or something; coxless pair was August 16, so halfway through). The first medals this time was in synchronized diving.

I'm not sure if we have a chance in some of the athletics events, though they seem to be hyping up Jessica Zelinka a lot.

Holy shit so much salt....

If you actually saw the interview she asked him about it first and he didn't understand what she meant so she said did you pull a fast one? And he said yes I try go very fast at the start....his english is shit get over it

but it's the most practical way to force a change of possession. I dont know what else to say, it's just not dirty or underhanded in any way. deliberately crashing is more akin to a flagrant foul.

It feels like some of you guys think fouling in basketball is always flagrant. Fouling in crunch time is basically a hand grab or hand check. Fouls in general are used in basketball to prevent easy layups or against bad ft shooters all the time. It's a part of the game.

I have nothing wrong with it either but for the people who believe in the purity of the olympics than intentional fouls are not good sport.

And crashing to force a restart is in the rules and not finishing at the top of your group to face an easier opponent is part of pool play in every sport practically that has the matchups set up in advance. My argument is that people who want the badminton teams and this cyclists hanged from the highest tree are complaining about stuff that is part of all sport every where. The idea of the purity of sport where everyone is there only to have fun and play to the best of their ability is not reality.

Hindes could say: "Yeah, I cheated."

Hoy could say: "Yeah, I cheated."

and the difference between a statement of fact (Hindes) and a joke (Hoy) would be the tone of voice and delivery. Hindes has been speaking English for 2 years and he's German, so he's unlikely to have a nuanced delivery.

A British guy could say that and people will laugh it off, but when a German attempts it, it nearly causes a diplomatic incident.

It's interesting how USA Basketball aficionados criticised the British team for not purposefully fouling to get extra time, but when it comes to this... that's out of order.

I am not familiar with competitive cycling so I don't know if crashing deliberately to get a restart is an unacceptable tactic. But not fouling to stop the clock and get the final shot was just stupid.

That said trying to figure out which player is my favourite
hottest
.

#11 Naz Aydemir

Naz is HOT

S. Korea's #10 Kim Yeon-Koung is a beast

She has a lot of unnattractive pics out there(no where near as hot as Naz), but her ability makes her HOT in my eyes

the british cyclist backtracked in the post race press conference saying he "lost control of his bike", so I am guessing it is not widely accepted tactic.

I love how the Brazilian girls apparently close their eyes before shooting. They always do it when there's an opponent right in front of them.

Coming from the guy that kept saying they were disgusted by the badminton players, lol.

I think he was descriptive enough for you to get precisely what he meant German or not , he got a bad start and used the rules to his advantage. Personally I don't see much wrong with it just as I don't think the badminton players deserved to get disqualified. What I find amusing is that they felt it necessary to get him to change his story and back pedal instead of just being honest.
