iDOLM@STER - Sonna no Mayu ni wa Wakarimasen (NSFW doujin)

The continuation of this heartwrenching workplace romance saga. Breaking up with Mayu seems about as smart as wrapping yourself in raw meat and then jumping into a tank of piranhas. From past experience, different artists have different views on her yandere levels, so we'll see how this plays out / whether any accidental stabbings occur in the future. Also I thought I recognised her dinner outfit from somewhere:

Oddly fitting that Chieri's shown there as well.

Kinda weird that he went that route because from the first chapters it seemed like producer knew Mayu was a yandere and that their relationship's intensity was part of the appeal for him.

Or maybe that was a separate storyline from same author? It was an interesting dynamic 'cause you don't get protagonists who seem to run circles around yandere logic.

My guess of which series will likley be killed (those four are dead so I'm not including them) if enough of the new Jump series are strong. From most to least likley.

1. Hinomaru Zumō (Weakest seller out of all the current Jump lineup, its great rankings have also begun to slip. There is only so much time you can give a series before giving up on it.)

2. World Trigger (No WT ain't getting axed, but rather I really see it being moved to a monthly magazine of Shueisha's due to the constant health issues of the mangaka.)

3. Samon-kun wa Summoner (Samon is part of the trio of weak sellers for Jump(that aren't gag), but it is the strongest seller of the three. Has middle rankings to weak rankings as of late.)

4. Straighten Up! (Also part of the trio of weak sellers (middle of the pack there) and tends to be in the middle of the pack ranking wise. Has the leg up on Hinomaru due to it being a year younger so more "chance" for sales growth)

5. Isobe Isobee (Not because its likley, but because everything else left has no chance of being killed soon (well Gintama but by its own will). OP, Haikyu, Hunter X Hunter and Hero Acadmia ain't dying outside the mangaka's own will. Food Wars sells, Saiki is getting another anime season, Gintama is ending on its own soon, Black Clover sells well enough and is getting an anime, Ghost Tits is already selling at the level of Black Clover. The Promised Neverland is Jump's newest darling which its trying to cultivate and Kimetsu no Yaiba is doing good in rankings and is showing improvement in sales.)

I think Isobe will stay in the magazine for a long time, it actually has a presence outside of Jump. There's a special column with Isobe in the very popular fashion magazine Men's Nonno every month for instance.
I don't think they care about it selling lots of volumes.

I had to stop reading half way through and resist the urge to practice the art of the katana while listening to Linkin Park

One of those is super stacked against the other

Senzaemon chose the teams according to spoilers. Based on other details from the spoilers, I'm pretty sure this is completely intentional to show the value of teamwork because Soma immediately starts fighting with his dad while the other team works together better

Straighten Up might be on the way out. Read on /a/ that it just had a timeskip to the third year in High School. Unless there's a "going pro" arc or something.

Samon is a gag manga.

I'm not expecting any of these manga to end until later in the year.

Was Kuroko's Basketball good or not, I can't remember

It was for a while, then The Zone happened and shit got ridonk.

Something Something Light Novel Akashic Records 20

Nice going Glen, way to fucking trigger Riel by talking about her dead brother you idiot.

And surprise, the revived soldier they were talking about is her dead brother, surely nobody saw this coming from the very first time he was ever mentioned.

The manga/LN's been pretty good about deftly avoiding a couple cliches here and there but it really went balls deep into this one.

Jitsu wa Watashi wa 155

You know a story sucks when the penmanship is what you compliment.

Though that cliffhanger ending is something to look forward to.

This character is perfection, absolute perfection.

I fucking love Carol because she's a surprisingly unique and varied character. She's airy and lacks a lot of common sense but is actually quite perceptive and smart, is always good-natured and happy but has shown that she can still be a bit of a dick while still wearing a smile and is almost more of a troll than Misuzu.

it was getting so repetitive it was about time :(

hope we get to see Nene get together with Ushio

It was time a long time ago from what I've heard. Though I admit I stopped reading a little after chapter 100. When it ends, I'll probably go back and finish the series.

Okay, there's now a scan floating around previewing the upcoming jump series, and Dr. Stone looks very much like a Boichi work, Heck, the doctor looks almost like a Ken rip-off that studied instead of creating a Gang.

The artwork doesn't seem to be as detailed as his previous works, judging from this one small picture, but it's undeniable Boichi, and to me, that all i needed to know

It's really difficult to tell whether she'll be a ditz or the straight man in any given gag

From the preview art...Dr. Stone is about a mad scientist? And they're using the same arstyle as Sun-Ken Rock, so I guess the art's going to be really good and and really muscular. And Hungry Marry was so obviously from the Beelzebub guy just from the style.

Edit: Bokutachi wa Benkyou ga Dekinai looks so generic it's unbelievable. And it's trying to catch the Nisekoi crowd, judging from the art and premise?

U19's artstyle seems alright, so here's hoping it turns out good. Poro is probably going to be a gag manga, Robot x Laserbeam is probably going to be Kuroko's Basketball with golf.

give us Soul King vs. Big Mom!
That aside, it was an "ok" chapter. Nice shoujo art.

What the fuck at the Egg Egg Fruit though. ...and what does the hat do?

I like the artstyle for Bokutachi and for U19.

Woah, now I really need to catch up to see what's going on there. Even if it does wrap up relatively soon, 11+ volumes is a pretty respectable run for a dancing manga.

I'm excited for Hungry Marry and Dr. Stone, interested in U19 and maybe Robot x Laserbeam, and the other two are definitely dead.

...though it's kind of interesting that Hungry Marry's listed as an "action/romance-comedy", not just an "action/comedy".

The three main casts beside Tomo herself are quite unique compared to their contemporaries. But it's without doubt that Carol being the best among them as she play straight or subverting the archetype she represent.

Corpse Party - Book of Shadows 11

YES MA'AM. Ayumi losing her shit was always one of the series' highlights, though the best results were when she retained some of her agency. Yoshiki handled his waifu well here, and I mean that in every sense. Also good job on saving Nana, I'm sure she has a bright future ahead of her.

Murenase! Shiiton Gakuen 19.5

She activated their trap card. But all's well that ends well, providing you don't read too much into the giraffe's appearance.

First comes the fun, then comes the pain.
Shit is going to go down.

Tomo-chan 486

I think that was what Carol wanted to do from the beginning. Initiate the king game, take over both roles of king and actor and imitate Misuzu. Masterfully executed.

One Piece 853

I like that Brook is still conscious and embarassaed about Big Mom feeling him up.
Shame we didn't get to see the fight. Or him asking for a pantyshot.

Shokugeki no Soma

I feel like at some point in the last 100 chapters, the author seems to have changed their mind and stopped drawing Jouichirou with a more heavily lined face and now he just looks like a normal adult. I wonder if he decided to make him younger and/or to make him not dying or some sort of horrible secret illness.

Also, el oh el at the team fight

I hate it when characters fish for compliments with their faux "woe is me" attitude, so i'm glad the manga poked fun at it. I'm glad they drew a distinction between busted ass quirks and quirks that are strong because the user trained hard to make it strong.

The art seemed a little more detailed in Soma today too. Not sure what the deal is with that.

Jitsu wa Watashi wa ch155

One Piece ch853

Huh, not sure what are the limits of Tamago's Devil Fruit. A shame we didn't get to see Brook's fight either.

Bright and Cheery Amnesia ch3

Being open about these kinds of things is good!

Huh, that's a new one.

My Hero Academia ch124

That's a pretty neat power and creative use of it. Too bad we didn't get to see the other two's.

Shokugeki no Soma ch200

Pretty predictable teams.

Murenase! Shiiton Gakuen ch19.5

Not as romantic as hot springs.

Was Kuroko's Basketball good or not, I can't remember

The first half is great. Then it started to get worse over time.

I think the 2 main issue were "The Zone" and Kuroko himslef.
I think the Zone startet off decent enough. It was just a rempresentation of the character being like 110% into the game. Then, over time ,it basically became Basketball Super Saiyan.

As for Kuroko. As a character he is a nice concept but with the way the matches and "power levels" went he was kinda left behind. At one point it became pretty obvious that the author was struggling to find new and surprising evolutions to his skills so he became less relevant

Shokugeki no Soma 100 chapters in review

The last 100 chapters were undoubtably worse than the first 100. The set started pretty good with the Elite 10 introduction and the festival arc, and then took a nosedive with Azami's introduction and zany schemes that took far too long to be explained into anything resembling sense. The Eizan arc introduced a huge handwave in that the judges refuse to cheat once they taste the food, but this is never explicitly mentioned, so having evil minions that refuse to expel them starts coming off really lame. The only saving grace for this was finally executing an Erina face-turn since her being a stubborn asshole was getting tiring given she's the "main" heroine.

The Promotion Exam arc has been largely a big filler arc and the heel turn by Hayama was awful shoehorned crap. At least we got the sense to fast forward with the Regiment arc we have coming up.
