The world has been built up pretty well. I like how they pretty quickly made the division in boarder clear. Jin is cool. Looking forward to seeing where this goes now that we've established the protagonists role in Boarder, and formed their team. There is the one character who looks just like Hughes from FMA that he stands out to me everytime lol

Man this arc focused on nekomata is really poorly timed and not hooking me at all. After the crazy intense back to back matches the series really needed a slightly longer breather with no volleyball, not two volleyball matches focused on rivals who've not been shown for a long time and a new team I don't care about at all.



I can't ignore it anymore, Haikyu does a fantastic job with it's main cast, but the series is awful with it's handling of secondary and support characters. The female volleyball team, most of the coaches, the cheer leader sisters for nekomata, and a lot of members of the enemy teams are throw in at times with minimal introduction and set up. This would be fine if the series didn't treat them so important since the series spends a lot of time and panel space showing losers getting emotional and player names switching in/out/who's on the team/where they are in the rotation and not developing them or introducing their whole arc in the match they are initially shown in and only there.

Is this a joke? Is Aya gonna end up with an off-brand dollar store knock-off version of Manaka? I mean, Nakama? c'mon. This guy is a total wet blanket. Sure, Manaka sucks in retrospect, but giving second place girl a second place guy after how the original series ended, that's just cruel. His feelings were slapdash too. He fell in love over the course of one chapter. If you're doing a nostalgic cash-in spin-off down the line, at least try and make people feel invested by writing an actual likeable, dynamic character people would want Aya to end up with.

World Trigger 44-85
Was really impressed with this arc. Was able to effectively bounce around a cast that is already huge, and who are somehow almost all well introduced prior to the start of this arc, and move at a great pace. Was the first time we got to see a lot of characters go all out, like Konami/Kurasuma which was fun, and also our first instance of enemy neighbors who speak/have a personality. Fights are pretty much the perfect mix of strategy and cool nonsense.

Jin's future seeing is also used pretty well to make sure we have stakes and build up to the climax. I wonder if he is going to get written out or something later on since his ability is so good lol.

Biggest complain is that I would like to see Chika's role improved but I imagine she will be the main focus whenever we get to the expedition. I suppose she is only C class at this point so it makes sense she was kind of just someone who needed to be protected here.

Interested to see how the B rank battles go, since it looks like that is a lot of chapters and will bring me up to date.
