That's a shame. The whole manga is pretty much told in this style, though the cartoony protagonist is done deliberately as a means to convey his feelings in an abstract manner, and really shines as the story progresses, and the series itself is filled with surreal symbolism, as it represents a confused child's vision of the world.
Try to read some more and see if it doesn't get better for you. Maybe Solanin will be more of your cup of tea, as it is a more down-to-earth read. You might like Boys on the Run as well.
I'm a big fan of Adachi, but I think that ending is the only reason why I have only read H2 once, while I can reread Touch, Katsu, cross game, etc at least once every year.

Those stuff can be hard to digest if you can't relate to them. It's simply not your cup of tea. I would suggest moving onto a new series.

He's not even a good guy, he basically admitted to Naruto face to still be doing human experiments, it's just that he doesn't seem to actively be trying to take over the world anymore, he's just doing evil things at a smaller scale.

One chapter in and I already like Josuke more than Jotaro, his fear of turtles the way he snapped was a lot of fun, and I'm quite curious about his Stand ability.

I was following the anime up to this point, but all the JoJo merch (including a few that spoiled me a thing or two) just pushed me to read it, in the last few weeks I was just waiting for Part 3 anime to end to jump to the manga.
On one hand I didn't expect it, on another it really fits him.
