Holy crap, just finished the Collector Ship on Insanity.

That. Was. Crazy. The two most difficult encounters in the game, right after each other. I almost had more trouble with the Praetorian than with the floating platforms.
Towards the end of the level I was all out of ammo and running around throwing Warp as my only means of hurting enemies :lol

So I was going to skip the side quests but I'm really glad I didn't. They offer some of the most varied gameplay in the game. Unlike the story missions which is basically talk-shoot-talk-shoot-talk. I have been really imperessed with these short but varied missions. This is a 200% improvement from me1. Bravo bioware

Send Mordin as the escort or keep him with you, he can't survive the last stand.

Don't let him hold the line. Send him back as the crew escort.

SO I just read that
part of your crew dies if you dont go to the omega relay right away..which I didnt because I wanted to finish the side quests first. Is it impossible to het the achievement now?

normally i would say screw it, but he was my favorite character and would love for him to show up in part 3.

So I played the soldier for about an hour. I didn't put any points into his skills until I completed the Archangel mission, where I hit level six and immediately glitched for infinite squad points. :lol

Even with zero squad points spent, though, the Archangel mission was a breeze. Adrenaline rush is so insane. I just used the shotgun and sniper rifle, and you basically one shot everything with a headshot if you have rush up, even on Insanity. And the shotgun+adrenaline rush is death incarnate.

I doubt I'll continue this soldier, but wow, so powerful.

Your team ≠ Your crew

You have to keep your team (Jack, Miranda, Samara, Tali, etc...) alive for the achievement. Your crew (Kelly, the engineers, the Doc, etc...) are all expendable and you can still get the achievement if they die.

But oh so boring.

That +140% damage boost is absurd though

Best way to take down a Praetorian?

1st: There are two trucks parked next to each other (between your start location and the walkway with the medkit/husk spawn.) Don't actually go into cover, but use the truck cabs. Keep circling

2nd: Kill all the other enemies until they stop spawning. Keep maximum distance with the beast. Make your way to the area near the locked door that offers cover you can circle around. Keep circling.

Hot damn, I can't believe how good the music was in this game. Initially I thought it was nowhere as good and there was almost no 80s synth' shit going on.

Then I got the OST and holy mother of god!! I'm playing again on insanity and realized that it's just hard to hear the music 'cuz the in game effects are so high initially. Jack, Legion, Grunt, Thane, pretty much the whole CD is amazing.

Seriously this OST is fantastic to work out too as well

:)

My personal favorite tracks were Tali, The Illusive Man, Normandy Reborn, Suicide Mission, and New Worlds.

That part of Tali's theme that plays at the end of her loyalty mission(
after the trial
) is great.

Didn't do either, and he survived on my first run through the game. Was your whole team loyal?

Maybe he just has a higher chance of dying?

I've only checked out a few songs on the OST, but yeah I really liked Illusive Man. Gotta take a listen to the rest of the tracks

Yeah all my members were loyal

Wow! I did every side quest and visited every planet and still only had 43 hours. This on normal difficulty.

So, I forgot that I had to get the
Reaper
IFF - and ended up spending most of my playing time finishing two unexplored solar systems, doing the IFF mission, and doing Legion's loyalty quest - which was really cool. So, I hit the CIC again and EDI wants to do some scans on the IFF. Pretty reasonable. My team leaves the Normandy and... and what the fuck is going on?! OH SHIT! SHIT! SHIT! SHIT! Oh my god! Now I'm
controlling JOKER
?! GOOD GOD DAMN.

It's not supposed to be random, but apparently there a lot of variables involved - not all of them known or understood.
The main one is who you take with you, and who you leave behind to hold the line. You want to leave your best defenders behind; Garrus, Grunt, and Zaeed were all mentioned by BioWare as great defenders. Based on reports from players who lost members during that section, I'd also guess that Thane qualifies as a good defender.

That plot point is just stupid I am amazed anyone actually can call it reasonable :lol

You unlock it after Horizon I think.

What do you mean by N7 mission??

The N7 missions are those "anomoly detected" missions you can find on random planets you scan.

Ahh. Didnt know that :p They remind me of KOTOR side missions, reading notes left behind by souls that walked before me. I really enjoy N7 missions.

Interesting, he lived fine for me.. I took Jack and Thane to the final battle and sent Grunt as the escort. No deaths.

Beat it at level 26.. is it possible to actually get level 30 on one playthrough? I used the shield from Mordin I believe for my power.. never re-speced. I guess I might try Reave on my second playthrough.

I think it's only possible if you import a level 60 char.

Yeah it's definitely possible after I had beat the game, I was level 29 and basically got level 30 by doing the assignment/anomalies missions.

Ahh makes sense. My guy was lvl 52 that I imported so I think I started at 5? But it might have been 3.. forget. Seeing that there are apparently 19 anomaly missions could have gotten me another level or two I imagine since I think I did 6 of them. I had just 1 assignment left otherwise.

I think Thane and Mordin are the two best characters in the series. They outdid themselves with them. Miranda (bonus points for thinking I have Sarah on my team) and her booty aren't far behind..

I can't believe that Yvonne and Adam didn't get Zach some bit part too!

Maybe you just need
to buy his individual upgrade to tech power, because he survived my game when I left him to defend, I had bought that upgrade, and I notice a lot of people not even mentioning it when they say he randomly died.

Yep, i imported a level 59 and i started at 3.
I did every side quest and ended at 28.

I decided to check out Chuck after ME2, love the show, almost finished season 1 in a week :D

The storyline and script of this game is really one of the best and surpasses ME 1 in every way.

I was a bit disappointed though that they didn't bring up the Illusive Man and Cerberus more toward the last 1/3 of the game.

I was expecting something big or some sort of major betrayal at the end, but the Illusive man just came out like a whiny bitch asking for the reaper tech.

So the only team member I have yet to recruit is the justicar...I'm guessing I can continue the side missions and stuff before hitting up the
Omega 4 relay
that I'm doing after recruiting her? Also are these N7 missions that people are talking about missions that unlock later or are they just the missions that I've been doing?

Nope, I bought all the upgrades in the game. That's not it.

Finally got around to buying this and was so excited to import my character from ME1.. only to find out that it has to be from the same hard drive you played it on. I've since upgraded from a 20GB to a 60GB, so I'm out of luck. :(

Guessing there's no way around this?

If you can copy game saves to a memory card, I'd try copying the closest save to the end on it to another account from your 20g. Then copy it to your account on the 60g and play to the end. Good luck and let us know what happens.

I let my friend use the 20g when he got a 360 with no HDD and he's in another city. :(

Oh well. I don't even remember what decisions I made, it's been about two years. :lol

Thanks for the advice, though!
