Mass Effect 3: Citadel |OT| The best.

So in my first playthrough I just finished
Rannoch
and got the trophy for romancing/staying with Liara earlier. Do I need to keep progressing the main story to see everything this dlc has or am I set?

There's a couple of extra missions to go -
Thessia
(not sure if this adds anything to Citadel, to be honest) and
Horizon (to wrap up Miranda story)
.

Also make sure there's no extra character meetings outstanding on the Citadel.

Just to clarify, once you have the DLC installed, are you required to initiate it once you go to the Citadel? Or are you given the option to dock for the retrofits/shore leave specifically like with Leviathan and Omega?

Optional dock, like Leviathan and Omega.

Neat. Can you use quick transit terminals on the Presidium/Purgatory to start it up once you're on the Citadel? Or do you have to re-dock?

Sorry for all the questions. But I'm a long ways off from that point in the story.

Jesus Christ this DLC. It's like horrible fanfic come true. Is there some gigantic playthrough with all the stuff in it on youtube or is that one playlist enough?

How long is the DLC? This may cause me to actually consider picking up ME3.

Took me a whole evening to do almost everything. (Didn't have time to try the arena yet, and haven't touch the mini-games that much.) You "waste" a lot of time listening to other people talking or checking Anderson logs. It's a nice change after all those past DLCs that only lasted less than 3 hours.

The original ending nearly destroyed the ME universe for me, but damn if I'm not grinning and giggling like a silly person with this shameless fan service. Well played, Bioware.

Wow, this actually sounds interesting. But I feel like I can't play it without starting all over with ME1 again and that's gonna take some time.

"Not even your sex bot could stop me."

Best part. That and all the multi-player comments the crowd in game makes.

Wow, can't even reload a save for this, have no idea what's going on right now. It said I needed to download the extended cut, I did that and now I've been sitting here for 10 minutes.

It really does seem like a piece of DLC for us gamers who have invested countless hours into the triology.

Yea this DLC is fucking awesome. After the main mission; god damn those areas. THIS is what I wanted from Mass Effect.

The Citadel DLC almost makes all the previous versions of the Citadel look too sterile and boring.

If that's how they're gonna keep the Citadel look like in the future, then so be it!

Great DLC. Finished the story part for one playthrough, focusing on Tali/Wrex. Fighting was challenging enough and with all-new areas. Lots of fun to be had with the squad comments in and out of battle. The boss fight as Vanguard was indeed fairly challenging. Did rely on lots of calling up the bumper menu to see where the boss was and if
he was in prime position to try a clone charge/nova
.

Apparently lots of variety to experiment with as well, such as for Tali/Wrex they had extra interaction during
the ride to the archives
, compared to choosing Javik/EDI on another Shep file which was more basic. Or such things as who is taunted when first meeting the boss, like they did with LotSB but with more snark.

Never mind the post-fight party, so much fun to be had mixing it up with who to meet/invite, how to evolve the party, etc. And then the arena, or just goofing around the large new environment. Worth the $$ for this one.

that's why I'm treating this dlc as the true epilogue of the story. Just head cannon all the talk about the reapers and cerberus with something else and there you go.

man, there is so much content in this dlc. best dlc sendoff ever!

I heard this DLC is highly praised. Is it better than Shadow Broker? Also when is it supposed to happen storywise?

I am considering giving this one a try after skipping Omega. Well, who am I kidding, I will buy Omega and this one for sure and then replay the entire trilogy with all DLC. Only problem will be the month(s) after beating the trilogy... took me a while before I recovered and swore never to go back again. Well... I shouldn't, should I?
Will most likely be waiting on the ME3 modding community figuring out how to completely rewrite the ending.

I find it better than Shadow Broker, but just because it's simply a hilarious DLC filled with different gameplay stuff to do. The combat is only half the DLC and everything else is mini-games, lots of talking and cutscenes, and a mission in a casino in a "James Bond" style.

This was... really fun. Cliche and cheesy, but it had me grinning all the way through.
Also it was my renegade playthrough, so the real Shepard looked more "evil" than the clone.

Plus Shadow Broker didn't have hilarious banter between the squadmates.

Since Edmonton handled in, any chance there are some hints in there on the direction of their new IP? Maybe a spy/espionage RPG?

Wow, this was absolutely ridiculous. The writers must have had a lot of fun with it. I thought the actual "mission" stuff was ok but not all that compelling itself, but the character moments during and especially after were just great. I especially loved the
Grunt and C-Sec stolen car
bit.

I'm glad everyone got their moment with the exception of
Legion :(.
Anyhow, good closure on the characters which to me, were the best part of the Mass Effect saga.

The last scene with
Shepherd looking at the docked Normandy
that scene and the music made me remember despite how bad I may have found the ending it was the characters that made me love this series from the start. It was more a closure than the ME3 ending.

Now I'm sad there is no more DLC :(

It had been a while since I played any Mass Effect 3, so I realized way too late that I accidentally loaded the worst possible save for playing through this. I never got to see
Tali, Wrex, Grunt, Miranda, Jacob, Jack, or Samara
because
they were all dead.
Oh well, it'll be all the better to replay in this case. In fact I probably would've immediately downloaded ME1 upon finishing the DLC if I had anywhere near enough room on my 80GB PS3.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but there's no
Morinth, Legion, Thane, or Kolyat
no matter what, right? I did appreciate the little
recordings from Mordin
though.

My cheeks are still sore, I was smiling and laughing through the whole damn thing, so good.

Thisthisthis. I never expected to laugh so much for what I thought was gonna be a serious bit of DLC. But I loved it. Plus, when Joker couldn't stop laughing for an entire minute at the party. Couldn't help but laugh with him. XD

Javik/Femshep? Oh god, this DLC. Top comments have it spot-on. Brilliance all round.

Dear God the party is a more complicated puzzle than it needs to be.

Bought a new desktop in Jan. & had been replaying the whole series since then. So I was still pretty early in ME3 when the DLC was announced. Decided to hold off on playing the main game so Mordin & Thane could attend the gathering. Shame on me for trying to outsmart the game I guess 'cuz its not even possible to start the mission until after their deaths (& Kelly's too but that 1 was just dumb). So I decided to at least play far enough that I re-met all the old ME2 crew, meaning I started it right after rescuing Legion from the dreadnaught.

So in spite of having Tali in my squad & as my LI (complete with already getting the Paramour achievement in this playthrough), I can't actually invite her to the party because I didn't resolve her storyline. I didn't even notice her absence until the 2nd phase. Also no Miranda or Legion because their stories weren't finished either, despite Legion freaking dying in every possible outcome of his/theirs.

I reloaded an autosave before the party but I haven't figured out how to actually leave the strip & do more missions, if it even is possibly to do the party later at this point.

& why weren't the ME2 crew part of the mission itself?
On the plus side I LOVED listening to the multiplayer characters on the strip, pure genius right there.

omg this was so great!

Really well done, such a terrific way to send the series out on a high note. I guess they had this planned all along?

So many funny crew moments, and little inside-jokes from ME1 and 2. It was sad finding the datapad with Mordin singing though. :(

So once the party is over, does the crew stick around permanently in the apartment when you head back to the Normandy? Will they always be there when you return..? It'd suck if they all leave and the apartment is empty again.

These final set of fights are so fucking awful.
I liked them very much.
Mirror matches in the arena are outstanding. Finally a challenge. Haven't beat it with one-hit shields yet, but I'll get there. That arena is fantastic. I'm having a blast with it. Comparing it to Pinnacle Station is a real eye-opener.

Damn it all. I'm imagining Mass Effect 3 being released yesterday with all the DLC thus far and more time to... ruminate on that ending before committing it to disc.

No Legion, but Kolyat and Thane do make appearances.
so what scenario keeps Thane alive for it?
I'll seriously contemplate restarting the whole damn game just for the best possible attendance. Hell I already restarted ME1&2 for reasons since beginning this series playthrough. Might as well go for 3 for 3. -_-

You can't keep Thane alive. Kolyat holds a memorial service for Thane, and there you're played a privately recorded message.

Yeah I never actually found that. Is it supposed to be in your email? I double checked my list, and a
recording from Thane
never popped up.

Not sure, I've only see it on YouTube.
I know organising the memorial with Kolyat is done over your apartment computer. Maybe the Thane video only plays if you romanced him.
