Sorry to ask a question I'm sure has been covered already, but will there be controller support for the PC version? It doesn't appear to be in the demo.

Critics and users agree.

Sorry dude, you are in the minority.

Is anyone else having performance problems with the PC demo? At any resolution above 720p, the game runs at about 30 FPS. But when I lower the resolution from 1600x900 to 720p, the framerate basically doubles and runs at around 60 frames per second pretty consistently. Also, when the ATT OSD is enabled, GPU activity doesn't seem to even approach 100%. Hopefully the final version of the game runs better on my system.

Where do I download this?

It's not on Origin. I got to the official ME site, click the PC link, and it does nothing. It does nothing in 3 browsers(IE,firefox, chrome).

I was being lazy to not hook up my 360, but I've now wasted 15+ minutes trying to get this demo and I'd be over half way done if I had just gone through 360.

Seriously wtf am I doing wrong. :/

Check the free games page in Origin, it's somewhere there.

I think the OT should have this on the top of the post

PC

Mass Effect 1: No Controller Support
Mass Effect 2: No Controller Support
Mass Effect 3: Take a Guess

Log onto Origin, click on free games there you'll find the demo.

It should be put into the OP

Stating reviews in an industry with the worst. Solid argument.

How is using user reviews not a valid metric for the general consensus on a game? It has nothing to do with critics scores.

I'm not saying one is better than the other. I'm saying it was a worthy follow up.

:lol

ME2 had better combat but story wise it's a turd compared to ME1
I don't get this sentiment. People act like ME1's story was this masterpiece of literature. It was a typical sci-fi video game storyline with interesting characters.

Well... it did get good reviews. Whether or not you want to interpret those reviews as "biased" or "paid off" is up to you.

But the fact is that it got good reviews. Just as it is a fact that ME2 sold well.

Whether or not you liked ME2 is up to you and you alone, but to say that the facts are wrong is rather weird.

Thanks. God I fucking hate Origin. I'm dumb for not checking free games, but I would've thought it'd be on the front page, or the ME3 page they have on Origin, or perhaps they could create a demo section. Oh well whatever, got it downloading now finally.

Fast as shit high speed net, and it takes Origin 7 years just to show the store page content. :/

User reviews on metacritic are even worse. Anybody could sign up and give anything a score. I'd sooner trust an actual game reviewer over some random person on the internet, even more random than someplace like here.

Meanwhile ME2 had no story

Alright man, you can think whatever you want. But don't look at me strange for thinking that ME2 was WIDELY considered to be a great followup.

It's okay to be in the minority, but don't act like everyone hated it.

Is it just impossible for you to accept that some people might enjoy a game that you don't like?

I swear to god, it's the same damn story in every Mass Effect thread.

It's a pretty silly place to put it. I only found it because that's where they hid the Kingdoms of Amalur demo.

Neither ME or ME2 did either, even though they were heavily requested features. Especially for ME2. It's fucking stupid that they refuse to add it, but I would not expect it for ME3.

I got my gaming PC not that long ago maybe a year and a few months now, so my ME1/2 playthroughs were on 360. It seems damn absurd to not have pad support for this game.

*sigh* Really wanted to play the demo on my PC, wasted the time to figure out how to get it downloaded, and now I have to cancel and download 360 version anyway.

Fuck my life. :/

I am not an origin supporter, but it flys for me. Also to those bashing ME 2 you have no taste in great games.

No bald cap? Lies!
Yeah guess I'll give the ps3 demo a chance. What a load of shit though.

Why not try the PC demo first before knocking it, no pad support may be a bit ridiculous, but its not as if KB&M controls are unplayable. I for one prefer them, despite the fact that with virtually every other game available I use my pad without question. Mouse precision makes a world of difference. So if you havent already tried it you might be surprised.

I was just pointing out how awful your argument was. When you resort to pointing out reviews to support your argument you have no argument, especially for this industry.

Of course they were paid off. Free yachts for everyone.

They even gave one to every NeoGAF voter: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=418389

*leaves to go yachting*

YO, BUT EVERYONE HATES ME2.

I DON'T GET IT MAN.

Derrick01, you aren't winning this argument buddy.

You claim critic reviews, user reviews, and GAF opinions are useless to gauge the general response to the game. It's apparent that only your opinion is guiding your thought process here.

who can say this only looks SLIGHTLY better than me2 with a straight face? Everything is better.

Good game doesn't necessarily equal good followup to people who felt the game changed in undesireable ways. I liked ME2 but it wasn't at all what I wanted out of a sequel. No pointing to Metacritic can change that.

But what else is there? Your argument was even less factual than his. At least he had something more than just an opinion to work with.

My (worthless) opinion: I actually liked ME2 better than ME1. I like personal stories as the focus and ME2 was more about that. It still had a good amount of universe terror and political babble in it, but it's a bridge between the beginning and climax and I didn't mind that at all.
