Mass Effect 3 Demo Impressions [Online Open To All]

Yeah guess I'll give the ps3 demo a chance. What a load of shit though.

it's not in the demo and apparently not in the full game. Maybe if people bitch enough it will happen.

People complained about ME2 not having controller support though. I think Bioware even commented on it, they never patched it in, and this game not having controller support seals the fact that they just don't care, or expect people to only use kb/mouse. Maybe having only kb/mouse shows that they are hardcore pc devs or something. Options are for noobs.

As someone who's spent literally hundreds of dollars on the Mass Effect franchise, the Mass Effect 3 demo is a massive disappointment.

Almost wish I had a pre-order to cancel just for the principle.

I can't play the online on the 360. It keeps trying to login to EA servers, but never confirms success or failure and just goes to the main menu. When I hit multiplayer, it says I need to login.

Fucking EA...

Good game doesn't necessarily equal good followup to people who felt the game changed in undesireable ways. I liked ME2 but it wasn't at all what I wanted out of a sequel. No pointing to Metacritic can change that.

The argument wasn't "Did you feel ME2 lived up to your expectations".

It's "Did Mass Effect 2 live up to the general populous expectations."

So while it may not of to you, the general consensus, BASED OFF of Critics Metacritic score, User score and GAF votes, was that it did live up to expectations.

I know it may be difficult for you to come to terms with, but you just need to accept it.

Excuse me, I need to go party on my yacht that EA sent me.

It does this for me too and for every game now it seems. Can't connect in Reckoning either.

Oh yeah I forgot. I have 3 games on Origin so that would suck to get banned.

If they don't add controller support I'll just rent it on PS3. I'm not one to skip games just to take a stand, but I don't really care for Bioware games in the first place, and not having controller options in a console port is bs.

Wow, I might actually play a FemShep in ME3 this time around. That pic a page or two back looks pretty freakin' nice. My main miff against FemSheps in the first two games was that the makeup and hair looked gross.

selective pics doesn't make it true. just playing the demo it is easy to see how much better it looks.

jaggies, bad texturing and bad shadows are still present in the PC version, just like they were in ME2

I haven't played 2 in a while, but there really doesn't seem to be much improvement here.

wtf psn ARE YOU SERIOUS? Where is the demo?

Whats funny is that kinect doesn't work with the sound turned up. It keeps catching commands from the in game voice acting. :p

Something happened when I was watching a tv show on XBL. A guy in the show said xbox and the the video paused:/

Anyway. yeah I guess I am not as jaded as some people in this thread. I found the demo quite good. Now I got to go download the pc demo. that is where I played ME 1 and 2. Was just trying the xbox version to try the kinect settings out and turned out to be pleasantly surprised at IQ.

The lighting and AA are undeniable improvements. ME2 didn't even have AA. Screenshot couple pages back with the ME2/ME3 comparison shows the ME3 models have MUCH better textures (at least for femshep).

What? No. Foliorum Viridum wished for a worthy sequel. His post contains his opinion on ME2 and the demo of ME3.

But what else is there? Your argument was even less factual than his. At least he had something more than just an opinion to work with.

My (worthless) opinion: I actually liked ME2 better than ME1. I like personal stories as the focus and ME2 was more about that. It still had a good amount of universe terror and political babble in it, but it's a bridge between the beginning and climax and I didn't mind that at all.

There is nothing else. But I stopped paying attention to metacritic user reviews when good games are routinely given 1s. Not that I ever understood the notion of looking at them anyway. "Oh ok random internet person, you say this game is a 10. You convinced me!". Especially when it's been proven that developers and other people associated with certain games, including Bioware, have been busted inflating their games' score and trolling other ones. You know at least places like here have an established community where you get to know the people a little better
even if they almost always get goty wrong

And for normal game reviews I don't think I need to explain how terrible and inconsistent they are, nor do I trust most of their opinions on wrpgs.

demo was better on PC. should've been much better, but it was still better than the console version...especially the mp.

How does every single Mass Effect thread devolve into ME vs. ME2, without fail?

What do people who dislike ME3's movement take issue with in particular. The roll is the only thing that bothers me overmuch.

is there a way to edit your past save? I don't want that ugly beeatch tainting my ME3 game with her presence.

I swear its like 80% of GAF already decided they were going into the demo hating it because EA now owns Bioware regardless of how great it is.
