Men in Black Game listed (now deleted) for PS5 by Bend Studio

I'll believe it when I see it.
However, I do understand new IPs are difficult to sell to consumers and some suit probably decided it's easier to market an established (albeit old) brand than something new.

I really hope this is not the "internet melting" announcement.
I stil remember that terrible 90s mib tank control game :P

This is more exciting than that trash zombie game with the lame protagonist. I forgot his name already but even Master Chief has more personality than him.

I'd play that :D There's potential for really cool game in MIB world. Much better than zombie apocalypse 3485996 game

Well in Sony case they could launch new movie alongside it if they wanted.

Sony Bends gets to choose the game they want to make. At least the last rumor said they're making a new game they are passionate about.
Sure thing, that's why days gone had a secret finale that SCREAMS sequel, because they didn't wanted to continue with a sequel.

Dude you heard what both ex-head chiefs from bend sayd in an interview, it was sony that canned the sequel because the reviews\copies sold weren't enough, bend is not really free of doing what they really want.

Days gone a was a love\passion project for the ex big heads in bend.

Based on the interview with John and Jeff, it seemed to me like Days Gone 2 was never going to happen regardless of success.

You can't have the sequel without those two, and my impression was they didn't like AAA development at all. John especially did not like managing a team that big. I think it was inevitble that they'd leave knowing they'd have to do it again for another 3 or 5 years with a team even bigger

instantly got flashbacks of the first MIB game on ps1, i dont remember if it was good or bad but i remember it was kind of spooky when i was a kid

Then why making the secret finale, it was by far the more interesting story bit of the whole game...

You don't do that if you aren't already thinking for a sequel.

It was absolute crap, wannabe resident evil but played and looked like shit, thank god i borrow that turd from my cousin...

John would have planned that before they even began development. Just the natural way to do things

I doubt he would have followed through after finishing the first game. Not in AAA form anyway

Oh cmon , you don't realize a secret finale cutscene at the very beginning of the development process (around 5 years for days gone).

They literally did some story changes 4 years in because they weren't happy of the multiple choices and some edges in deacon character.

And even if the secret finale was in his mind 5 years before finishing the game, he ultimately decided to include the cutscene in the final game and you can bet your ass that they didn't created that particular cutscene when the game started development but more close to the final release.
You can perfectly release the game without that cutscene since it wasn't the regular finale, it's not like people would've screamed at the game for being incomplete, he wanted to include that cutscene no matter what.

This sound all kinda of wrong and in the interview they looked pretty sad that sony was not on board with the sequel.

That secret finale alone upgrade the whole zombie plot into another level, shit was lit.

I think this is fake.

Herman Hulst said Bend is working on a new IP. Unless they are two teams and this was another game they were working on along side Days gone which does not add up to Jason's reporting on the studio?

Could be legit, but im skeptical.

Just going by the impression I got from him. He has the entire script written out I'd imagine before they start development, so I'd guess he would have done that if Sony did want to continue.

But if Sony did want to do the sequel, it would have have been without them, or john at the very least.

Have you watched the interview by Jaffe with the ex director of Days Gone? The Sony Bend as it is now doesn't want to make Days Gone 2.

EX big heads.
Do we know why they leave? Was it because days gone didn't reviewed well and they kinda lost their enthusiasm?!

Id rather MIB than Days gone 2.
But overall Id want Syphon Filter or a new IP

People asking for Days gone 2…. It didnt score well, it didnt sell well and tbh it wasnt on par with the other 1st party games. It was the first PS4 1st party exclusive I didnt bother to finish. The melee and combat felt meh. If bend's next game doesnt do well I wouldnt be surprised they get the axe.

And we can't have every 1st party studio working on sequels. Horizon 2, Spider-man 2, God of War Ragnarok, Ghost of Tsushima 2 is enough sequels.

MIB is weird IP choice though regardless

Marvel only owns the publishing rights to the original comics. Colombia Pictures owns MiB.

Men in Black would be perfect in a game setting. Guns, comedy, aliens.. the holy trinity of marketing. Wonder if it would be more dead space, or more ratchet and clank.

Columbia Pictures has been a subsidiary of Sony Pictures since the late, late 80s. All of the Spider-Man movies were produced by Columbia Pictures so think of it similar to that.

Do not want. Can't imagine anyone does.
Just wait, at least half this forum will be listing Men in Black as their top anticipated game + they always liked the movies anyway. (see the post above me)

I don't like this new synergy with Playstation and Sony Pictures. I don't want to see PlayStation saddled with having to make games around a bunch of failed Sony IP.

Awesome if true.
Days Gone was technically sound but the world was generic as %$#!.
Bend + great IP could give us another Spider-Man.

If ends up being true, cuddles to them. I would totally not have guessed its MIB of all games.

Also, total support to Bend studios. Great guys, I trust them.

Hmm much more interesting than Days Gone to me

Im not a huge fan of the movies but the whole concept of the MIB universe is really cool

Im down to see where this goes
