Men in Black Game listed (now deleted) for PS5 by Bend Studio

Sony is still pushing MiB with that terrible Hemsworth movie not too long ago. But a game by Bend? I dunno man. Days Gone sold like 10 million copies. They would axe DG2 for an MiB game? I don't think the last movies were even that succesful.

The only MiB related thing I could enjoy was MiB 1, from 1997 lol.

As some cartoony comedy game this could actually work. Some bounty hunts, those coffee addicted worms, the talking dog, some weird weapons and gimmicks, the flashy-thing, the cool car, the usual save the universe story and done. Potential is there, hopefully it's not open world.

I recently rewatched the first movie and it still holds up. Even the third one is kind of OK, but that new one, a reboot, was cancer. I really think the franchise should be just put out of its misery. Also, as much as I wanted to enjoy Days Gone, after twenty hours or so I simply gave up. So, all in all, nothing to be excited about. Of course, they can prove me wrong and that would be awesome.

Off tops, without even seeing the game yet, i'm not interested. I reserve the right to change my mind if it's true and I like what I see when unveiled but Bend working on a MIB game isn't what I envision them working on nor would I want them to.

It's so left field, it has to be true.

I personally can't stand movie games. I would have preferred a new infamous to any Spider-Man game, but they obviously think it sells. Oh well.

This could be really cool, a lot of potential for a lot of crazy shit and conspiracy stories. I hope this is true.

It does. Just imagine Insomniac's Spider-Man with some guy in a yellow costume called the Rope-Man. Otherwise the game would be 1:1. It wouldn't even have sold 25% of Spider-Man. Names/franchises sell. For the the same reason Vince McMahon keeps clinging to grandpas like Goldberg and Undertaker.

The hell it's wrong to Bend Studio? Why they want to develop useless new IP? I don't follow them. After DG I thought they have learned the lesson.

Guys, just because Bend Studios might have made a Men in Black game doesn't mean that Days Gone 2 is completely off the table. It's quite possible that DG2 is happening, but has been given a lower priority.

I'm expecting some time in 2022 that Sony will reveal that Day Gone 2 is coming to PS5 ... and then updating that statement 3 months later with a footnote to say it's coming to PS4, as well :)

It's fake, both Schreier and Hermen said Bend is working on their own new IP. And MiB isn't a new IP, it even got previous videogames. In addition to this, the next Bend game has been barely a year under development, so they won't announce it now because it's too early and Sony would have zero reasons to mention this project to a random store now. Plus that cover it's an obvious awful placeholder/photoshop made by a random store employee.

Regarding my personal opinion: I'd prefer to get Days Gone 2 instead. And if not, a Syphon Filter or a brand new IP made by them.

They already said sony won't release DG2 and stopped them, though.

Companies have been known to change their minds.

I hope they do not.

I'm sorry, but days gone was absolute garbage. It came out like garbage and was garbage the whole way through.

HEY JOE WANNA PLAY ANOTHER ZOMBIE GAME?!

Yes but it was a no at that point in time. Since then it has released on PS Collection and has sold more on PC. It could be that increased user base of the first game, and positive sentiment has since reached a point where Sony is more comfortable green lighting a sequel.

@davidjaffe did say we'd lose our minds.

Are you saying the game was already released and sucked big time that's why they did this?

I actually think this could be fun. There's lots of potential for crazy weapons, gadgets and enemies.
Just please be inspired by the comic or the first movie, and not the shit show that was the latest one.

the potential is there but if the story is not good it's going to fall apart very quickly. they should distance themselves from that garbage reboot as much as possible tho, just pretend it didn't happen.

Bad enough we have talented devs making Marvel and other capeshit games. Now they are going to make games based on mass-market dumbed down movie from 20 years ago?

Cmon Sony.

Cos it's Men in Black in 2021. Imagine a Space Jam game in 2021..

Space Jam doesn't have obvious connections to interesting gameplay mechanics like MiB has. The MiB world is genuinely interesting (scientists fi gadgets, espionage, mind wipes, govt conspiracies...)

The sub par movies are irrelevant here.

This is not a great IP though. Nobody cares about MiB.

I wouldn't go this far. Anything with that backstory has serious potential. You have potential for an interesting open world with very few human based limits (meaning they can be as gamey as they need to be to service the gameplay), there are aliens involved, potential investigations, cool weapons and gadgets (don't forget that small ass cricket gun with the massive firepower), interesting potential for storytelling. We know stuff regarding galaxies and space isn't off limits either.

I won't knock this solely based on the Men in Black IP. There's loads of potential here for a pretty incredible game if designed right.

I don't know an arcadey basket ball game with powers might be good.A bit like sega soccer clam but for basket ball.
MIB definetely has the potential to be a great game but will it be ?
It remains to be seen if true.

I kinda wish they would not follow the movies , but rather the original comic books that were more gritty, violent and horroristic and didn't revolve around just aliens, but also the supernatural / demons
