Mii characters are genderless on Nintendo Switch 2

"Those much loved Mii characters are back on the Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo has done away with genders. Now when creating a fresh new Mii you are simply asked to Select a Style and there's a generic male and female model to choose from. Other thing to note is the Miis don't seem to have had a shiny redesign so they look very similar to how they looked on the Wii, Wii U and Nintendo Switch."

I like inclusiveness but am not overly found of losing my own identity in the process. Not sure why they couldn't just add a third option for those looking for a neutral choice.

This woke pertaining to twisted gender ideology is getting out of hand and being force again to gamers throat. Very disappointing as the world is just beginning to have common sense back.

This really sucks actually. Not a lot of games use the Miis anymore anyway but sometimes the gender came into play. WarioWare Smooth Moves had a microgame where you point Miis to their proper bathroom designated by gender (kind of hilarious through a modern lense), Tomadachi Life used genders to establish relationships where Miis could have biological children. It seems like such a needless change and for what gain? You could already use female styles on male Miis and vice versa

Games can still do that.

Oh, how cautious Nintendo. Don't step on the feelings of clown-men and chubby teenage girls!
You have to be brain-damaged to call male and female "styles".

It says that in the disclaimer that in some games they will still have a gender. So basically they just hid the male and female words from the selection screen.

I don't support it, but Nintendo's been doing this for a while now. The islanders in AC, the Inklings in Splatoon. Heck, I remember even Pocket Card Jockey's re-release did this. I'm sure there's many other examples too. Not much of a surprise they got to the Miis too.

Sometimes they only do it for certain regions/languages so I guess that'd be interesting to see for this case.

Cancelling my preorder.
