MindsEye |OT| The Benz Presents - Mafia 2077

I've always thought you were reasonably normal on here so I'm just going to pretend you didn't say this :messenger_tears_of_joy:
I don't see anything wrong, i said a bit triggered, i'm not gonna lose any sleep over this and i think being a bit triggered by something is what usually move even you to quote people and challenge their opinion or even put a laugh emojy if they say something stupid.

Maybe triggered in the wrong term, surprised is better.

This deserves to crash and burn.
Why?

And also why is everyone hating on the game? Because the internet has decided so and we must follow trends? I just don't get it really is like no one uses it's brain and just follows what trend is currently hot.

Fun fact just to break the tension in this thread

If you use the word triggered in Retardera, you will probably get banned or at least a warning from the moderators

Much better

Sure this looks like a trainwreck. However the gameplay itself, while basic, is the kind of thing I've been missing. Going to wait for a sale but this will be a fun mindless 10 hour game.

The visuals on this one always looked next gen, at least when you're driving. Rest of it, not so sure about. Ultimately though, not sure this is gonna be worth the money when even mafia is launching at $50. Waiting on more info and reviews, but depending on those, will probably pick this one up once it drops under $30

Well, if the internet collective decided it's trash, maybe there's a reason for that

When a game like Mindseye gets widely called out, it's often because the flaws are obvious to a lot of people. The internet isn't just following hype blindly, its calling out what doesn't work and holding creators accountable

Sometimes, the masses do have a point.

Full playthrough

meh aya cash GIF by You're The Worst 're The Worst

60 Euros for a 7 hours mediocre game? Happy I didn't buy this.

sometimes thats the case and sometimes not.
Plenty of great games get overlooked or called trash. many times even before anyone sees the game.

This is obviously trash... or is it?
Just because game is short and runs like shit, does not make it trash yet.
I have a feeling this really is trash but honestly, I will wait for some reviews here from trusted users.

it looks generic and bland to me. can't quite explain it. it probably does not help that mafia 3 is one of the worst games I've played and seeing the main character keeps reminding me of that game. of course they probably have nothing in common but that's how things work sometimes

i have a friend that hates gta 4 because of its depressing tones, he can't help it. i know there are a lot of people like him too. i cannot blame them either. sometimes you look at something and it is just not for you. i was not going to elaborate further but i feel like i had to, as I said i'd just pass this game. i'm not a hater of the game or anything though. just not for me :)

i hope the game succeeds though

FYI I'm hearing the campaign is around 4 hours long…up to 7 if you want platinum achievements. Could all be slander but we'll see soon enough.

Starfield
Overwatch 2
Anthem
Battlefield 2042
Diablo 4

Saw a lot of hype around these duds.
For sure, those games had massive hype and still ended up disappointing a lot of players. But that actually supports my point, the internet collective isn't just blindly hating. When so many people call out a game, it's usually because the flaws are real and obvious

The game is NOT an open world game ala GTA, Saints row or Watch Dogs. Its a lineair story with the world purely as a backdrop. Yes you can free roam but there really isnt anything to do.

Set your expectations. Judge the game for what it is and not for what its not.
Kinda like LA Noire it seems. Wasnt much to do but ride around.

This length sounds entirely plausible when one considers that MindsEye was originally supposed to be premium triple-A episodic content drops for Everywhere and what became this version of MindsEye is just the first episode they were working on.

Well, MindsEye is designed to be episodic, with each slice offering its own experience while serving a larger story set across different genres and time periods - and possibly even galaxies.

"We've got a bunch of episodes planned, we know what we're going to do with that. Each of the episodes will be of a different type of gameplay," Benzies says, adding that the first episode in particular is very cut-scene heavy, something which will not necessarily be the case in future episodes which sound like they will be focused more on multiplayer experiences, co-op and replayability. A snippet we were shown suggested the action would take place in a post-apocalyptic future, as two characters reconnected in what looked like an underground bunker.

Are these episodes part of one ongoing story, or discrete experiences? I ask Benzies, who chuckles as he replies: "Yes." It sounds like a bit of both. "They're connected, but not," Benzies continues. "There's one overarching story for the whole thing, but they take place in lots of different time periods and parts of the universe. There's a thread between them, but it gives us some kind of flexibility.
Source - I recommend reading in its entirety because it shows just how far off track the final product is from what was envisioned.

I think there is a certain level of shadenfreude with this game with people wanting to have some fun while watching something crash and burn.
That said the reason people have picked this game in particular is because it has so many red flags that it feels like failure is almost guaranteed.

Something like the Robocop game had plenty of jank, asset flips, performance issues - but it kinda wore those on its sleeve. You never worried for Teyon or thought they were rushing the game out - they just were doing what they could with what they had.

Nah....the internet as a whole is generally very...very stupid and all about a bandwagon.

Same group thats hyped about fortnite dances or whatever? The latest COD skins? Getting the same sports game as the year before and paying real money for some fake Nikes?

Moving on, the same group that thought NFTs was a great idea? (Some of those people are here too) The same ones that made Hawk Tua or whatever famous?

7 hours is alright.

It just doesnt seem to have that "it" thing to really draw people into it.
I dont really want devs to fail (cept Jade Raymond and Haven) but this doesnt look all that great as an out the gate game.

Probably should have cut the "open world" entirely and spent that time just on making bespoke levels with cutscenes to bridge the gaps.

Hopefully this doesnt go the way of Immortal of Aveum(remember that game?) it atleast had a hook.......Im not sure what the hook is for this game.

If it comes to gamepass ill give it a go.

P.S If they release the Create tools for free ill def have a tinker.

Hope it turns out. Looks rough, but so did Sleepy Dogs before release. I'm not predicting it will they as good as Sleepy Dogs, but hopefully that Day 1 patch is substantial.

PC version is definitely the way to go with the creation tool thing. Hilarious the console versions do not have it.

Starfield
Overwatch 2
Anthem
Battlefield 2042
Diablo 4

Saw a lot of hype around these duds.

2042?
Bru what?
As soon as they announced no campaign(even if it was supposed to be a sequel to BF4) no traditional classes and that it was a hero shooter light with little to no destruction that game was practically doomed.
The BF community didnt want it, non-BF fans didnt want it, the maps were too big and sparse for the 128 players they though we wanted, Portal was literally its best mode for a while because you could kinda make classic BF in that mode.
Its in a good place now, but they basically reworked the whole game to get it to where it is.
That game most certainly didnt have hype once they actually told us what the game was......the only "hype" was that it was a sequel to Battlefield 4 basically before we knew anything about the game..........then they said ohh but there is no campaign........mate that game was panned well before release and panned well into its lifecycle, a full course correct was needed.

Wasnt Overwatch 2 widely hated by the Overwatch community because of the changes and the fact that it replaced Overwatch 1.......what hype you talking bout mane?
The promised PvE mode that never came?
But even with all the hate and it is hate NOT hype, its still one of the most played games out right now.....its not the titan Overwatch 1 was so its being dusted by Fortnite, Apex, CoD, Siege.....but its still super popular.

Diablo 4 has tons and tons of players and is rolling in dough......how is it a dud?

Watch the PS5 release of Starfield have it sitting at the top of the best seller list for the entire month if not longer.

Anthem deserved better!!!!!!!

So Mafia 2 then. People fell over themselves to worship that mediocrity for some reason, so why the double standard with this one then?
