Actress Simone Bailly, who starred in the 2005 racer, has seemingly spilled the beans about an upcoming remake in now-deleted social media posts.

If there is a remake they need to bring the old soundtrack back or create a new one that is at least as good. The Unbound soundtrack was garbage that no one should be forced to listen to.

THIS
I would go so far as to say that all the recent entries had abysmal soundtracks with the aim of appealing to teenagers rather than adults.
I hope they don't decide to "modernise" things

Not sure that this is really needed given that most Need for Speed games are just the same thing with improved graphics, mechanics and (not always) a silly Fast and Furious-style storyline with terrible acting for solo players. In fact, I would say that they have already remade Most Wanted several times already... well, they've certainly used "Most Wanted" on three games so far to date so why not another?!?

If it's true, I hope that they retain the physics from the original rather than whatever the fuck they've been doing since 2015.

I can however see a few licensing issues, the major one being Toyota since they've became massive pussies regarding anything involving street racing.

Some refinements and additions/expansions to the map would also be much welcome.

Call of Duty is the same thing with improved graphics.

Spider-Man games are the same thing with improved graphics.

You can apply it any game series. You clearly haven't played Need for Speed game. Play Porsche Unleashed, Hot Pursuit 2 and NFS 2015 back-to-back and dare to tell us it's the same game. You clearly have no idea.

Surly it's just a Remaster.
Fascinating if it's a Remake and they're bringing back actors from the original 20 year's later.
I have a hard time believing she'll look like this in 2023

Not because she's 20 years older but....Reeee

I would prefer NFS: High Stakes as remake. Different countries with their own police units, I would even like when they would include the cars from that era.

Right!? The police radio dialogue in the original Most Wanted is alone better than anything since.

If they just give me the original game with new graphics I will buy it day one. Keep the music, the police radio chatter and the sick ass cutscenes and I'm sold.

I thought they already remade it on the 360/PS3/WiiU?

This game had nothing to do with the 2005 one aside from the name.

Regardless Here is an interesting little hangout they (actors and the art director and writer) did where they had some NFS "influencers" on a few years ago. And correctly the twitch guys point out that not only was 2005 the best selling game, but that content they make for MW 2005 garners the most views STILL almost 20 years later.

Nfs fan sites like the Reddit or YouTubers are still playing and posting about the 2005 game. It's kind of a no brainer to remake it when the "new" nfs games just aren't garnering quite the same interest like unbound. Tuners are still popular with younger people these days but so are the European and muscle cars. Underground was good but it's too hyper focused on that 2003 tuner scene original fast and furious vibe. Most wanted would probably still sell better.

Hopefully this will actually look decent with HDR.
I was never a fan of the shift to daytime as everything just looked bad and washed out
I wonder if they'll keep the piss filter 🤔
And will Josie Maran return, she's 45 now.
It pains me to see what time has done 😞
I think they should redo all the cutscenes in-game or CG and have they look like they did in 2005 and rerecord all the lines.

I have played EVERY Need for Speed game since NFS 3 on the PS1, excuse me very much!!!

Many of the games are very similar but that doesn't mean I haven't enjoyed playing them over the years on many different platforms as the graphics and technology has improved. If I had to pick a favourite then I would say Need for Speed 3 because it was one of the first games I played on my first PC and it was much better than the PS1 version. I also enjoyed Most Wanted (2005) a lot on PC but I feel that EA lost their way a bit after that, trying different things such as ProStreet (mediocre in my opinion) and The Run (interesting but limited) but, ultimately, it was the Most Wanted formula that proved the most popular so that is what they have attempted to recapture with each new instalment. It is no surprise to me that they're remaking Most Wanted for that reason, especially after Unbound flopped (a game I actually liked despite the cartoonish embellishments to the visuals).

I feel like I'm the only person who listens to their own music when playing games. Soundtrack has got to be one of the least important things considering you can listen to whatever you want.

The last great NFS game before it all went to shit, I actually replayed it on the Steam Deck this year. It shits all over the recent titles, mainly in the physics department.

Hopefully if true, the remake/remaster is actually good, and with its physics intact.

Oooh! You can never have too much Josie Maran. I hope she's in it as well.

I agree. Miss Moran was quite striking in that game. Watching her bust Razor Callahan at the end of the game was quite entertaining to say the least. Hopefully they do a proper remaster and not change any of the cutscenes and the game.

Can't wait to see all the improvements made for the 'modern audience'.
If they don't keep it the same and set it in 2005 then I don't wanna know.
It has zero effect on the gameplay
but if they change one thing for modern audiences from this

They can fuck off, I'll let them off with the way the cop dresses but everyone else including Mia should be 1:1 to the original game and 2000's aesthetics.

I don't think they will be able to recreate the magic of the original, personally... They will probably make a mid version of it.
Unless they go the Final Fantasy 7 Remake direction of remaking a game, which is more exciting.

Porting to modern consoles would be better...

You are 100% correct my friend. When these game devs today say they are remaking a game for the MODERN AUDIENCE it is usually them saying they will make it woke or PC while ruining what made the original games special. Devs have gotten weird in thinking that everything that was normal back then are deemed to OFFENSIVE for some poeple today. Meanwhile the core gamer and audience that supports the games themselves have no problem with the game and actually want the game to preserve its original assets or vision. It's just more of the same with all these companies today trying to ruin everything they touch in their attempts to MODERNIZE products.

I wonder if there would be any licensing issues with getting rights to the older car models and not the newest models. Car companies can be weird about that.

That was a reboot, and an awful one at that imo.
If they are remaking Most Wanted, i hope the gameplay is the same as the original, because the gameplay of the reboot was bloody awful.
It was like i was trying to drive a bathtub, not a car.

Improve the visuals, keep the gameplay + physics, keep the soundtrack (Most Wanted got me into Disturbed, and i will always be thankful for that)

Sometimes I still turn on my X360, change it to 480p to get better performance plus accurate visuals to what I remember the game looking like and defy Razor and his sidekicks.

Still amazing.

Day 0 if true and source material is respected.

Aiyyo, first things first
It's time to shake ground in the eighth round
Box battle and break down
For the beak in the rhyme tone
Jump in the cyclone
S-T-Y-L-E-S, yes I know
Give the rap phene vaccine
Packed red beam
Put 'em up, what the fuck
You plucked a bad seed
Off the wall, spittin' the guerilla tag team
What's up now, duck down stuff that can't breathe

they should have left this game alone and instead, made MW2

here's my plot proposal, if anyone from EA reads this, please hire me or alternatively give me royalty for it :D

the story is about the original MW protagonist [i.e. you] who dies horribly in a massive setpiece car crash in a race against a notorious but highly skilled driver and as such obviously loses.
the name of a rival driver has been mentioned in your 'will' as the person who will inherit your famous BMW M3 GTR
[race drivers like 'you' always carry their will with them in the car, underneath the driver's seat along with a goodbye letter
a race culture thing to signify how they are willing to put their lives on the line in pursuit of their passion].

going against your wishes, the antagonist is now unofficially and illegally in possession of the M3 , which he has now given to his girlfriend [also a street race enthusiast].

the game then switches to a new protagonist -a now humbled Razor,to whom- it will now be revealed based on the letter- the car should have been passed on.
he then decides to avenge his fallen friend and take back what is rightfully his.
the antagonist's girlfriend dies in a crash as a result of her own mistake in an attempt to cheat her way to the finish line against you.
you manage to take the car back but it is now personal for the antagonist too.
when you manage to overcome the challenges he throws at you, he resorts to gangsters to take you out [cinematic setpiece followed by police chases]

later, it will be revealed -in the form of flashbacks - that 'you' and Razor had actually formed a beautiful and respectful friendship
in the wake and the aftermath of what happened in MW and there's a lot more than meets the eye
for instance: the antagonist didn't actually win, ...he cheated! and you'll realise her girlfriend's method of cheating is actually his signature move.
also prior to your death you had been planning on transforming the M3 into a new beast and you had shared some plans and blueprints with Razor
(it will be an actual gameplay mechanic: you'll design and personalise your dream BMW gradually in cutscenes and flashbacks)

the final race is, to the player's surprise, not a street race, but a huge official circuit race that is planned to be broadcast nationally.
you and the antagonist are in it and it is the closest you'll get to revenge
he cheats and places 2nd, and you finish last.
credits roll
after the credits, there will be a cutscene where you call and challenge the antagonist unofficially to a good old fashion street race!
in your newly transformed BMW !

I won't spoil my ending but I assure you it is gooooood

I will accept my gold now
thank you
