I don't really play many sports games, but this looks fucking amazing! Just...WOW! November can't get here fast enough!
That's what you get when you outsource the browser to the cheapest offering, and they are willing to camp out on the lawn of Sony in Japan.PS4 browser? Let's not even talk about that piece of crap, please...
EDIT: which reminds me; not even further back than yesterday, I tried to navigate NeoGAF's forum on that browser (against my better judgement). It is something I do not recommend. To anyone.
Nope. The only thing he said was: "When I think about games where ray-tracing has had a dramatic impact on my experience as a player’ said Spencer, ‘it’s kind of spotty."Ouch, is that true? Did he really say that?
I don't want to give Metro the click...

PlayStation 5 3.03 hmm
Mozilla 5.0 is the standard for all browsers... it is not related to Firefox.Depends on how you feel about Mozilla. Is it a big improvement over the PS4 browser?

You'd be surprised at how good virtual surround is getting on some devices. It's something that's widely based on the knowledge we have on psychoacoustics, which is large, so it ultimately comes down to technical leaps, which have been happening.Virtual surround... Pfft, that shit sounds like tin roof.

I'm not sure if this is possible, but it'd be cool if Nvidia could make a chip to work as a middle man inside the dock. Take the 1080p signal coming out of the USB-C port on the Switch, upscale that to 2160p with DLSS stuff, then send that 2160p signal out the HDMI port on the dock. Maybe it wouldn't need any work from the Tegra chip or the game devs?Good question. I would have to think the Chip actually inside the switch would need to do the rendering as trying to using the Tegra X1 in conjunction with a new chip built on new hardware would likely create a lot of headaches.

It sounds like one of those fake click-bait articles. LOL
Probably a bad read on this https://www.wired.com/story/future-of-xbox-game-pass-xcloud-strategy/ where spencer says that the impact of RT on him as a player has been spotty. In reference to this article from PC gamer https://www.pcgamer.com/ray-tracing-has-failed-to-deliver-on-its-promise/
Personally, I think RT is great, sure it's just cosmetic, but nice to have. I can see it effecting game play at some point, maybe you are checking mirrors or windows for a hint of what might lurk around the corner in a horror game or something.

Such a cherry picking certain phrases and turning them into something else BS clickbait article.
He says right now Ray Tracing support is spotty never said it has failed.
Plus doesnt say XSX wont push 8K says the devices are just not out there to support such things and may never be the normal.
Yeah, seemed very suspicious...

So is he talking about Xbox Series X capabilities?
I wouldn't say things like that about things that are totally related to my new console, even if this is not true...

I know 4K TVs have some upscaler chips inside them, so maybe it'd be possible. I could totally see Nintendo selling a new (expensive) 4K Dock for current Switch owners. Or just keeping it as a new Switch Pro style exclusive feature. Idk.
"All footage captured from a work-in-progress build of NBA 2K21 on a Playstation 5". I wonder what the final version will look like.
This is the graphics I want to see this new gen, hope that is in fact real gameplay
Yes I understand. I just meant, on TV in general, the sound is not up to my personal taste. I also have said that I can not wait to try Tempest because the later tech sounds pretty good. You'd be surprised at how good virtual surround is getting on some devices. "Journalism" at it's finest there. Go through another interview, cherry pick the quotes and then frame them in the context you want them to be framed. It sounds like one of those fake click-bait articles. LOL

THat sounds like it would create a huge latency issue. If you rendered the image on the switch and then had to send it to a different chip to render it again but using DLSS that seems like something would have to bend to make that happen, but I am not a DLSS expert by any means.
I personally think they will upgrade the screen in the Switch to 1080p and use DLSS from 720p, or lower, to get it to 1080p in handheld.
Good point. Wouldn't matter for more casual fans, but might not work. I agree their goal will be 1080p handheld. No idea when thats coming, battery life will be big factor there.THat sounds like it would create a huge latency issue. 10/10 craftsmanship right there.

You can keep dreaming
the L3 cache on the Zen 2 CPU is 32 MB, but Xbox and PS5 are only using 8MB of that. the rest is likely in the I/O block.
On the XSX heat "issue". No issue at all apparently.
They might have plans for an upgraded switch that does 1080p handheld mode, 4k docked (maybe using DLSS for both). Keep in mind that these would be Switch games at 4k, so bandwidth and GPU power wouldn't need to be that out of this world. Base PS4 might be enough to run Switch games at 4k, probably wouldn't need anywhere near PS4 level bandwidth, since the Switch games are running on so little to start with.

I just want them to make a small, quiet, dedicated home console (TV only) with the Switch Pro Controller included, instead of the Joy Cons, and call it Switch Pro. Give it 4K60 HDMI 2.0 output. Then let people use Switch / Switch Lite as controllers wirelessly with it for multiplayer games like Kart.

Oh, that's absolutely true, the sound standard on a lot of TVs is not great.Yes I understand. I just meant, on TV in general, the sound is not up to my personal taste. I also have said that I can not wait to try Tempest because the later tech sounds pretty good.
Don't make me go get Craig meme.
This your mans no?? Your own xbox people are telling the truth. And you shun them shame on you!!
I know there are NBA2K haters, but I am so getting this game. The Heat are going to actually be rated highly this year. They better make sure Baby Goat Tyler Herro doesn't look like a freaking muppet this year. Gonna build MyFranchise around dem goons from Dade county, Bam, Jimbo, and Herro. Hopefully DRob is like a 95+ 3pt specialist. If they have the Finals roster in there, then Jae, Iggy, and Dragon will be good mentors. I just hope they finally fixed the mentor feature, as it's been broken for a few years now.
I can't wait! This is a game that will absorb a lot of my time. I don't now why they went with those bum-ass Warriors for this trailer. They were turbl with season, and the Mavs weren't too impressive IMO. Luca and Kristaps aren't ready for the bigtime. The trailer should've been Lakers and Celtics, or Lakers and Bucks. The sweat maps are a bit much. Sweat isn't that easy to see on broadcasts. I wonder if they'll tone it down a bit before release.

But as a recent PC Gamer article put it, “Ray tracing has failed to deliver on its promise.” Few if any games have significantly benefited from the tech. Nobody’s going to love or hate a game because you can see a ceiling lamp shining off a bullet as it whips by, or a really convincing alleyway puddle.
When WIRED read PC Gamer’s headline to Spencer, he said he thought it was “probably right.” “When I think about games where ray-tracing has had a dramatic impact on my experience as a player,” he says, “it’s kind of spotty.”

AppleWebKit is included in pretty much all UA strings, it doesn't mean they are using webkit. It might be that they are as it's easier to integrate than Chromium (with Blink). They could also go with CEF or something similarly embedded, though. That is a WebKit based browser for SmartTVs.
no nothing is up, did you read the article? Here's his Quote about it.Interesting. Not saying Ray Tracing fails, but since this is a speculation thread, I'd like to speculate that maybe they are having some issues with RT and that this is Phil's way to "excuse himself" out of it. This may not be true, of course, and I believe the Series X is a very capable console, but something may be up?
