I'd buy it just to sit in my house and play it while my wife won't STFU about the day she had.
PSP lives..
PSP lives..
Also the obvious higher resolution and not so obvious wider field of view (Quest 2 improved resolution, but keept the FOV the same). From it having a single cable we can deduce it will use inside-out tracking.New info seems to be:
- Connects with single chord
- Has a new VR controller with some dualsense features
- Not coming in 2021
Not quite "introducing" but good to know
If it comes with Full Fat VR support I'm OK with this.GT7 Pushed to 2022. Not surprised but still pissed.
The sentence says "a next-gen VR system that enhances everything from resolution and field of view to tracking and input".So it has field of view tracking, guess we can take it to the bank there's vrs or a better solution baked into the ps5 hardware somewhere. Vrs was made for this.
It's not using the USB standard to send the video signal like e.g. Quest 2 does, it's using USB-C Alternate Mode to pass a Displayport 1.4 (up to 32.4Gb/s) plus a 10Gbps USB 3 data link.I have no idea how it works, but clearly a single USB-C port can deliver a legit high res VR experience.
Good luck building a PC at a reasonable price mate.
Anime has obviously ruined your appreciation of a reasonable female appearance. Am I right IntentionalPun?
People seem to be missing the key part of this.
Xbox as a game service by the end of this gen confirmed.
Wii u ports have done well. Ps4 got a lot of 360 users who never owned a ps3. I think those ps3 games would've found new life on the ps4. I'm mostly upset that Sony chose pc ports over 60 fps ports and patches for their loyal userbase. It's shitty.I’d love it but there’s no money to be made porting ps3 games.
there are rumours about shifting even engines of first party games to be more platform agnostic
Yeah, the whole thing is rendered in engine. Thats probably why he is wearing a effing down jacket, its cold on Iceland!
That reminds me, a question which has been itching me for a while.Yeah, the whole thing is rendered in engine. Thats probably why he is wearing a effing down jacket, its cold on Iceland!
you will see more Ghostwire, Deathloop and Little devil inside ;dWhatever. State of play is tomorrow. Let's hope we see cernys super secret sauce in action because if Sony's own studios don't use it no one will.
I hope so, I can't wait to give that a try.you will see more Ghostwire, Deathloop and Little devil inside ;d
Can wireless VR provide the same image quality as wired, or there will be a perceivable difference, like in streaming? You assumed wrong. We work actually with PSVR1.
Edit.- Before I have not had more time, I will give you a broader answer now. It is my obligation to know the future news of my sector. That does not mean having them. I'll have them when the working prototypes are available to developers. For now I have to settle for seeing live demonstrations (seen or experienced by me) of new technologies or online presentations (or at specialized VR fairs before Covid). Also information of the same type from other co-workers or acquaintances in other companies. On the other hand, many times you work blindly based on supposed final specs that you don't have yet and use approximation hardware to advance work. But for example, Sony is supposed to be working on wireless technology, and today they posted that "you only need one cable" ... so ... wireless? or wired?
That worked like shit for Xbox One. It would be a "genius" move for Sony.mark my words. In two years, every PS5 game will launch on PC simultaneously.
Thats how long it took for Xbox games to launch on PC after the first game was ported to PC.
Depends on how it's implemented. If it uses a super fast adapter like the Vive one, it's gonna be the same quality. If it's like the Quest where what you see is a video stream, then the image quality will be quite a bit lower. Can wireless VR provide the same image quality as wired, or there will be a perceivable difference, like in streaming?
Everything is always better wired, but today's wireless technology is good enough that you don't notice a noticeable difference. PS5 is well served in that regard, at least for the use that may be given to it.Can wireless VR provide the same image quality as wired, or there will be a perceivable difference, like in streaming?
You think Sony is using VirtualLink?
They outright say 10Gb/second in their documentation.

My friend's uncle (both work at Sony) told me that they will surprise everyone by announcing GT7 and God of War Ragnarok coming first to PC in 2021, with ports to PS5 later in 2022. One year exclusivity babyBruh what they're gonna show? Better not show or announce other PC ports or i'm gonna kill somebody hhhhhhh
Sorry emotions are too hot...
Seriously tho would be cool to see news about GOW2, GT7 the two SWW game i'm looking forward the most, other games i would like to see news about Elden Ring, next VF news also but it's unlikely for the latest i think tho.
I think you mistook what VirtualLink is... it is an alternate mode of USB 3.1 that allow transfer of 32Gbps video + 10Gbps data... it only reach theses speeds when in that alternate mode.
When plugged with a normal USB device you have only 10Gbps bandwidth because it works as a standard USB 3.1.
Right; but again, USB-C is just a connector type. A thunderbolt port is a thunderbolt port.. they just use USB-C connectors now. (and of course, Thunderbolt is compatible w/ USBC 3-1 devices, I have a MacBookPro myself)Thunderbolt is already doing 40Gbps via USB-C anyway.
You know you actually made me realize that we need crying emoji. My friend's uncle (both work at Sony) told me that they will surprise everyone by announcing GT7 and God of War Ragnarok coming first to PC in 2021, with ports to PS5 later in 2022. One year exclusivity baby
I recall Sony were planning a Netflix style Game library.I mean, that is the end game. They would rather be on anything and everything ala Netflix when all is said and done.
Then why was it necessary to create a console like PS5 with its memory subsystem, spending hundreds of millions, so that later not to make games for it? Why and why? Because it is necessary to release it on a PC as well? I think that there is already a very thin line between personal fears and objective reality. I am also generally perplexed about this, but I do not think that they will do such stupid things to the detriment of their only system. Sony is not Microsoft.
That's one sale..
Sorry, you didn't enjoy laying in bed playing Zelda on a Switch... it was glorious.
Nah this is marketing 101. You want to drop the bad news along with the good news to distract from the bad news and soften the blow. The should have separated the news about the next PSVR and PC ports. VR could use some undivided attention. Perhaps the executives are not very good after all, like some are saying...
well, a dedicated streaming device that is very cheap, that's something to consider. But it needs to be really cheap.Cloud shite, if it's true I have lost all interest in it.
True but that intel's technology and it's expensive to implement, I believe Sony, MS is using those 20Gb/s ports? Or just 10Gb/s? Because to be frank the labeling of USB is bullshit.Thunderbolt is already doing 40Gbps via USB-C anyway.

Dead? RX 6000 just launched with VirtualLink support. What gave you the impression I don't know what VirtualLink is?
I'm aware a VirtualLink port also supports 10Gb USB-C; that's why I said "32Gb for video" in my other post. But the PS5 is not advertised as VirtualLink and it's basically a dead standard.
Of course they could be using it; but that's why I asked you if you think they are.

The PS5 console has four USB ports which support different connection speeds and are compatible with different devices. Find out how to use PS5 USB connection ports to charge and connect USB devices.www.playstation.com
Yeah and people are confused by that. Valve saying it was unreliable, nVidia removing it after 20X series, and nobody else implemented it had pretty much killed it off. The consortiums website even went offline.Dead? RX 6000 just launched with VirtualLink support.
I'm not sure it is dead or not.
There is rummor based in the GitHub yet that PS5 USB-C port supports Display Port in alternate mode.
MarkCernyFor2020
Ssshh, you'll trigger them.
You mean something they always had, but don't push to the forefront because they love the sales volumes of their games?I recall Sony were planning a Netflix style Game library.
Forgot to reply to this. Good point. I dont even think they need an APU. The CPU's integrated graphics chip should be enough. Maybe 1GB of RAM for the OS and apps, but no need for any other storage or vram. I can easily see it retailing for $99 with an OLED 1080p screen. Maybe $199 if they go for a 4k OLED screen.well, a dedicated streaming device that is very cheap, that's something to consider. But it needs to be really cheap.

Just saw this.Yeah they are diverting their focus. It's pretty obvious. Days gone pc has graphical enhancements (foliage, FOV) that aren't being patched into the ps5 version which could easily do it.
PC features include ultra-wide monitor support, unlocked framerates and improved graphics (increased level of details, field of view, foliage draw distances).
Yeah ok, the Playstation fanbase need to make it known to Sony Bend this is not ok.Yeah they are diverting their focus. It's pretty obvious. Days gone pc has graphical enhancements (foliage, FOV) that aren't being patched into the ps5 version which could easily do it.
A small detail is forgotten, on PS5 / PS4 they give it away with the Plus or it is always on sale at $ 20 that with shared accounts are $ 10 compared to the full novelty price 60$.Just saw this.
Absolutely disgusting. Gotta love how Sony is treating its most loyal userbase.
It should be as simple as a config setting on consoles too. I dont know why every game has to be rereleased as a PS5 sku to take advantage of the extra PS5 horsepower. The PS5 clearly has access to the increased clocks for both the cpu and gpu in PS4 Pro's BC mode. So why cant they just increase foliage or draw distance? I wonder if its a memory bandwidth thing? Do we know if the PS5 has access to the full 448 GBps of memory bandwidth in BC mode?Yeah ok, the Playstation fanbase need to make it known to Sony Bend this is not ok.
I'm sure this is happening because it's an easier quicker thing to implement on PC (just config setting in UE4), but it's still a bit of a slap in the face for PS5 players.

It's what you have, it's called a business.
Improved graphics as in, that on the PC you probably can dial a higher values, but nothing that they did some more work than on PS5. And unlocked framerate, well if you have 2080 card + it's probably not an suprise that it can do more. 60FPS is mostly like requirement on PC or rather bottom of the barrel type of thing. Which is understandable due to how mouse works.Just saw this.

I am struggling to understand the BC limitations here. This isnt the first time either. XSX and even the XSS versions of cybperunks are able to run at increased graphical fidelity in BC modes, but the PS5 is running at the same exact PS4 Pro visual settings.
