Nintendo Direct: new presentation (over) (Wii U / 3DS)

I'm guessing they'll start off with a Duck Hunt trailer for Smash since they like to start off their events with it as of late. A demo announcement seems unlikely but not impossible. The they'll probably go into MK8 DLC. Anything goes after that really.

Why? It is the first general Direct since February! And completely unexpectable one, I might say.

You are not welcome here!!!

Hype or bust.

sorry, it's just we already know the lineup for 2015... and there's no way that Nintendo has enough manpower to make something extra to surprise us.

and now that every third party has jumped off the ship, I have zero hopes of any crazy third party surprise game.

My prediction is that this direct will be:
-20% smash 3ds (sales and shit like that)
-20% smash wiiU
-5% explaining the mewtwo dlc
-10% watchdogs
-10% bayonetta 2 (sales and shit like that)
-25% amiibos
-10% reel for already known upcoming projects

don't get me wrong, I'm excited about the future games, but not about the direct.

RETRO wasn't working only on Tropical Freeze, right?

We will get a Metroid with a Spring 2015 release date tomorrow. I can feel it.

Aside from alternative pricing, there's no way they're gonna show anything on Mewtwo. If he wasn't ready a week ago, he's not ready now.

It's focused on spring 2015 games, so I expect very little smash stuff. Directs have never been about sales and shit like e3 conferences were. I only expect released games to be mentioned if they have dlc, amiibo compatibility, or smash 4 duck hunt trailer. Most of it will be focused on stuff like splatoon, Yoshi's wooly world, STEAM, maybe a bit of pokemon, and probably some new 3ds stuff (including Xenoblade 3ds). Also maybe if we're lucky we'll get stuff on X and Zelda U

oh, I'm not talking about how he fights and play, I'm talking about them explaining the process to download it, the alternative price, etc.

Nintendo tends to waste time on things like that.

getting a few new details or new footage is really a reason to be excited?

I could see a price drop announcement, Mario Kart DLC info, some Smash and Amiibo stuff and maybe 1 or 2 surprises.

Still excited though!

In that case I think we might see something new. I really want to see Animal Crossing, and New Leaf being the success it was, I think we could see it soon.

Is this supposed to be their "planning ahead" direct? I remember that direct they had in January of like, '13, where Nintendo just announced a bunch of games that would come out at the end of the year. I can't really tell if this is just gonna be one of those or this is going to be giving us more information on holiday releases sorta thing.

There'll probably be one or two announcements as always as well. And I'd be excited just to get concrete release info for new 3ds in the west. And all the games are things I'm excited for, so I want more details. Also, don't expect anything on Mewtwo until way closer to his release. I'm not sure they'd even have concrete info on some of those details

Nope. This is just a direct that will show stuff in the next few months as well as likely have a few surprises, just like all of them.

I'm expecting updates on Wii U titles due in Q4 and the first half of the year. I would like to see at least one new 3DS title releasing in the west as well.

I personally am hoping for at least 2 new 3DS game announcements. It's looking to be a bit of a dry start to 2015 otherwise. Maybe a new Warioware?

Thats probably when they´ll announce Jam With the Band P or whatever that rhythm game by Intelligent System is called.

There was a localization confirmation some moons ago, but we haven´t heard anything since.

A simultaneous worldwide Nintendo Direct seems like the perfect opportunity to stop considering and actually #EndRegionLocking.

You know full well it won't happen. Way too soon after the topic was even brought up. It'll either coincide with new hardware launches or it won't happen.

There won't be a price drop. They're trying to make money. Amazing exclusives is their alternate solution to endless price drops. (= increasing value)

I'm already at maximum hype levels after beating Bayonetta 2 twice in as many days. I don't even need a Direct. Just feels like overkill if they're going to give me even more reasons to feel hyped.

Xenoblade, Splatoon and Yoshi being first half of 2015 would be a huge deal for Nintendo, especially if they release some attractive bundles for the holiday at $249.

We still haven't heard anything regarding what Next Level Games is working on, right? It's been a year and a half since Luigi's Mansion was released.

$250 is the lowest the Wii U will go, I'm pretty sure of it.

I foresee $249 as the sale price this holiday, and the new baseline price next year. But I think you're right, Nintendo won't get into the magic prices-starting-with-ones territory.

I'm pretty sure we already know Wooly World and XC:X are slated for the first half of 2015.

Thanos acquires the fully powered Infinity Gauntlet in The Avengers: Infinity War, but loses when all the superheroes team up together to stop him.
Expecting the MK8 DLC to be pulled out of nowhere and announced for next week as one of the surprise announcements they've become so fond of.

3rd party titles would be nice! I still want Digimon ReDigitize :( Youkai Watch news is welcome too, since it's been forever since they announced it getting localized.

Hoping for some SMTxFE info. Fatal Frame V coming to North America would be nice too, along with a release date for Splatoon.

Woolly World, yes. Xenoblade X, no, and I don't expect it to arrive before the next E3, though tomorrow could always surprise us.

The big thing to look out for tomorrow, aside from Amiibo details for games that are not Smash, will be whether the titles explicitly marked for the first half of 2015 last E3 are still on track (Woolly World, Mario Maker, Splatoon), and whether Xenoblade X, Kirby and the Rainbow Curse, and Code Name: STEAM are joining them.

Smaller eShop titles could always arrive as surprises on short notice, as was the case with both NES Remix games and will likely be the case with the Mario vs. Donkey Kong title we have known about for a while.

He's back!

Predictions, directly to you:
Mario Kart 8 DLC trailer and release date
Smash Bros. for Wii U demo available immediately
Watch Dogs will officially disappoint
Miyamoto's projects show their true form
Indie/eShop sizzle reel
Multiple 3DS announcements for 2015
New Splatoon footage (public beta announcement, believe!)

I think the next Direct will be January, and that's where the real bombs will drop.

There were rumors of a first party hd remake coming in early 2015. I'd love to see Kid Icarus Uprising make it to Wii U.

Maybe we'll see more of what Splatoon offers in single player mode.

I can really see Xenoblade X as an early 2015 title... It was supposed to release this year anyways so it could happen! But if it gets released even on late 2015 I wouldn't mind if that means maximum polishing and adding more awesomeness.

Hopefully they'll go all-out hyping 2015 WiiU releases. That way people will be more inclined to buy WiiU this holiday, knowing what's coming in a matter of months.
