I'd pay good money for a Mario Galaxy Collection HD. The only thing that lets those games down is how bad they look on my lovely telly.

How long has the Pocket Card Jockey demo been out in the US?

I had no idea it was available! Anyway, it's a bit weird. So much text, like mad amounts, but the gameplay has potential. Will buy this for sure when it's out.

As much as I love the new web eShop, I really miss the ability to buy codes and gift to people. Now I have to rely on using Amazon for digital gifts, and they don't have the full catalog of Nintendo published games.

News to me too, downloading now. Thanks for the heads up!

Thanks for the heads up, I'll have to grab that.

It must have popped up today. Already completed the demo. Can't wait for it to release, I was having a blast with it. My jockey skills suck though!

Which is the better game? Mario Galaxy 1 or 2?
They're actually quite different. Super Mario Galaxy is all about an atmosphere of wonder and the feeling of discovery and surprise, the game dramatizes its sequences a lot and is "narrative" in a way, whereas Super Mario Galaxy is 100% linear with abstract floating levels à la Super Monkey Ball.

Myself, I prefer Super Mario Galaxy a lot, but I understand why some may prefer its sequel, even though IMO the physics and controls of Galaxy aren't suited to a pure obstacle course like in Galaxy 2, and I won't ever forgive Galaxy 2 for pretending the first game never happened.

Ask me about the GAF Notebook
Bought the original Shantae last night as I had $5 left over from buying the MM Collection.

Seeing as I missed out on a lot of GBC due to me never owning one I'll see how the original holds up. I played the intro level. So far so good.

If I had any complaints it might be that due to them creating some super wizardry to get a game to look this good on the GBC you can tell they really zoomed in and your character is big on the small real estate. Probably can't pull the camera back any further though and have the damn thing run on the GBC back in the day.

I absolutely love that discounts don't affect stars, even when it's a mahoosive discount like this.

Strongly tempted to finally pick up Shovel Knight, but had to check; both the WiiU and 3ds versions get the same dlc right? Is either of them ssuperior to the other?

The Wii U one has Digger's Diary, a Miiverse system on the GamePad screen for showing what people said about a room.
The 3DS one has StreetPass Arena, which is a pretty fun little minigame and one of the best uses of StreetPass. Also the game is native 3DS resolution, so looks beautiful on there, and the 3D is great.
Both of them support the amiibo, but only the Wii U uses it for co-op unlocking.

Ah, okay. I'm not too fussed about the co-op and miiverse stuff, and the portability is a big plus, so 3DS version it is. Ta!

Edit: loving using the web eshop, more gold coins too! Got enough for a discount on Other M now lol.

Does it? I didn't read that.

Surely it would be fixed instantly if it wasn't intentional, though.

Yea the FAQ is very clear that how it currently works is not how it should work. Let's just hope the FAQ is the thing that gets updated :p

I was really impressed with Star Fox Guard from the Treehouse stream. Pretty sure I'm gonna have a ton of fun with that.

Pocket Card Jockey demo and Starfox Zero , really good week for me.

Been dying to play Pocket Card Jockey ever since I saw it years ago.
