Personally I'm not all that hyped for Zelda (on Wii U) or Sun/Moon. I'm concerned it will be the weakest showing yet for Nintendo.
I'll just rewatch the Digital Event from E3 2014. That shit was amazing.
- The Robot Chicken sketches
- The Star Fox and Mother 3 jokes
- Reggie vs. Iwata in the Matrix
- Smash Bros: Mii Fighters, custom moves, 3DS montage
- Amiibo! With first wave detailed after the event
- Reggie staring dreamily into the camera with his moist eyes and quivering lips
- Clip of the Luigi Death Stare (simple, but appreciated)
- Yoshi's Wooly World, in the yarn shop
- Reveal of Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker
- Reveal of The Legend of Zelda for WiiU
- First decent look at Hyrule Warriors (Link, Zelda, Impa, Midna)
- More on Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire (starter Megas in action!)
- More on Bayonetta 2 — now with Bayo 1 and Nintendo costumes!
- Reveal of Kirby and the Rainbow Curse
- New look at main story in Xenoblade Chronicles X
- Reveal of Super Mario Maker
- Reveal of SPLATOON, at the aquarium
- Palutena confirmed for Smash
- Miyamoto with the Star Fox Zero tease
Then you had the amazing Smash Invitational, followed by the round table with Pac-Man. You had the 3DS roundtable with Code Name STEAM. You had the Treehouse Live coverage that included tons of Smash and Splatoon. (Man, imagine if they had also shown Majora's Mask 3D at this point, which we now know was in development.)
So much good stuff. Probably my favorite E3 in E3 history. And if the rumors by Emily Rogers and others are true that that Nintendo is amassing an unprecedented lineup for NX, I imagine there'll be another E3 like that in the near future.
It just won't be this E3!
