Nintendo Switch 2 |OT| Switch 2 Nintendo, because now we're playing with power

Those painted cardboard reliefs 😑😑😑.

The box should have a premium look.
It looks like an even cheaper box than Switch 1 which was a bit better than the Wii U box which was sooooooo much worse than the Wii Box. It stings that Switch 2's price grew and yet another item seems they have cheapened out ("oh who cares about the box rah rah rah…" if you think they did invest the money saved in the HW and not margins, well… they did not invest it in the dock and the HDMI chipset / VRR on TV capability ;)).

Are you retarded? You're spending $700 on a console you hate? Do you value your time at all?
Some people are just weird as fuck. It's his money he can spend it however he wants but still doesn't change the fact incredibly idiotic spend that much money on something you hate.

I do like a nice box.

Funnily enough the Series X box was done really nice while the PS5 and Switch were terrible.

It's not even about money entirely. His life must be so boring and pathetic that he has nothing better to do than play a console he doesn't even like. It's so incredibly sad. He needs friends or something.

Mario Kart, Donkey Kong and New Mertroid all within the launch window. 3 huge titles from the platform holder.

But sure sounds terrible. Take your miserable ass elsewhere.
Metroid prime that doesn't have a release date is coming in the launch window? What other lies are you planning on telling?

Donkey Kong a huge title? Must be a funny joke since Nintendo doesn't price it as such. Tropical Freeze sold less than 5 million on Switch which is definition of not a huge title.

Metroid a huge title? A title that is one of the worst selling Nintendo IPs is a huge title? A series over 17 game releases that has sold approximately 22-25 million copies?

Surely you're having a laugh. I don't know very many sensible nintendo fans that would refer to metroid and donkey kong as a "huge title". Mario Kart, sure but those others.. :pie_eyeroll:

I'm buying a console that I'm not even going to play right away unless playing Switch games on it. No Switch 2 launch titles interest me. I'll be getting Donkey Kong in July though. But whatever. Better than to wait and potentially get a tariff price increase or have them be sold out everywhere when MP4 comes out.

Anyone know if the Switch 1 titles that supposedly have issues so far can be patched to work? Or are those a no go altogether?

Launch windows are typically considered 6 months within the consoles launch.

Mario Kart is the sequel to one of the biggest selling games ever.

Donkey Kong is made by the Mario Odyssey team.

Metroid Prime is(one of) the 4th highest metatlcritic rated games of all time.

What more could you ask for?

Like I said take your debbie downer shit elsewhere you miserable fuck.

Who in the fuck cares? It fucking box you either gonna put away or throw it out.

This pettiest shit to complain about.
As a collector and consumer I also like the presentation.

On PS5 they did have better presentation material.

Also for the price they placed at least one would expect a better presentation.

Still you are my friend Danji 🧸

The box is gonna collect dust if you decide to keep it, I'm sorry but I find it stupid to stress over a box.

whhhhattt?? ahahaha kart $50 if you buyed bundle and dont bee crud busniss purchasing im sorry my friends you must smart

Looks great, but it's a tough sell for me with both Mario Kart World and F-Zero GX being there on launch day.

This is where I'm at too. I was originally considering picking up Fast Fusion on launch day as a secondary title to supplement Mario Kart, but I opted for the Hogwarts Legacy $18 sale + $10 upgrade deal instead. May still pick it up someday though.

A few of the games with startup issues already have patches announced, so I imagine we'll get more patches in the future.

People really are spoiled these days. Forgetting when at the N64, you know what the launch lineup was? Super Mario 64, and Pilotwings.

People always talk about needing so many games to justify a system's purchase, but for me, all it takes is one good game really. Mario Kart, and DK already look like pretty good games to me. The better performing Switch 1 games like Metroid Prime 4, and Pokemon Z-A are just gravy too.

Depends which line up you talk about. And even with only Super Mario 64, it was worth it. This game was a revolution and still governs modern 3D platform games.
Mario Kart World is just Mario Kart in open world. It will sell like hot cakes, but no real hype behind it like we had for SM64, or recently Breath of the Wild (do you remember how insane E3 2016 was ? Everybody was running to Nintendo booth trying to play BotW)

But I like to look at a line up with a 6 months period :

In 3 months, form September 29, 1996 in USA you had :
- SM64
- Pilotwings 64
- Wave Race 64
- Killer Instinct Gold
- MK Trilogy
- Star Wars Shadows of the Empire
- Cruis'n USA

That's the first 3 months until Christmas.
Next 3 months :
- NBA Hangtime
- Mario Kart 64
- Turok Dinosaur Hunter

So it's all exclusives, outside of MK Trilogy.

And it goes on after that in 1997 : Doom, Blast Corps, Hexen, Star Fox, Goldeneye...
Most of those titles were announced before the N64 was released.

It certainly put things in perspective when all Nintendo announced for Switch 2 is MK World on launch day, and DK Bananza in July. MP4 being cross gen and announced since the Switch 1 launch, still without a launch date, certainly does not compare to the list we have for the N64. And let's not talk about Gamecube laucnh period which was even better.

So in 3 months, all I'll be able to play is MK and DK, which is good but not incredible + Fast Fusion. The rest of the games are ports. I'm buying it but let's not make that launch seems more than what it really is. It's just ok.

Edit : Of course it could all change with new reveals up to Christmas.

I can't wait to get mine!!! 60fps TotK, here I come!

Looking forward to getting mine next week, transferring all my games and data, then selling the old one and saying goodbye

I've owned a switch 1 but haven't played a 3d Mario game since Mario 64

Now seems like the time to dive back into them. Do we know which previous Mario games are getting upgrades?

Odyssey and 3D World, Bowser's Fury I think was 30fps on Switch so that will be nice if it is 60fps.

Fingers cross I get mine early. Problem is PostNL is one of the best postal services in the world. So same day is very likely. But I guess better to be good and get it on time vs a terrible postal service that has it delayed.

It's weird that Donkey Kong is only like a month out, seems like they obviously wanted that to be a launch title but just couldn't quite make it in time. Also weird that Metroid Prime 4 has been cooking for what seems like forever, and still isn't releasing alongside the new console.
Maybe a late October launch (like Dread)

Edit: I'd like to add that in every new console release Nintendo has had a big Mario game at least about a year later. So I have a hard time seeing them break with tradition. I think they've been silent on the next Mario to give the DK game its time in the spotlight, as it releases soon, but they'll probably want to announce the development of the 3D Mario game to keep the Switch 2 hype up.
The only time they were silent regarding a new 3D Mario was for the Wii U, so yeah I hope it's not the case here

A number you completely pulled out of your behind.
Mario Kart is the sequel to one of the biggest selling games ever.
Who argued that?
Donkey Kong is made by the Mario Odyssey team.
And, the previews coming out for Donkey Kong has been less than stellar? It's why I cancelled my DK preorder. That along with the very visible framerate drops.
Metroid Prime is(one of) the 4th highest metatlcritic rated games of all time.
That has absolutely nothing to do with sales or the popularity of a title? It also does not tell us how good Metroid 4 will be? Very ridiculous assertions which has absolutely nothing to do with the points I raised. Your arguments are horrible just like Arsenal fan arguments.

Finally, use the ignore button if you're getting heated because I'm not interested in frolicking Nintendo.

There's zero chance I'm giving this fat fuck a click, but if those prices in his thumbnail are supposed to be in USD, then he's lying for engagement.

Edit: Also, I need to add that his thumbnail design is fucking atrocious. You don't need to pack every inch of real estate with exclamation points and bold text. You can still get clicks if you have a single strong focal point and a clean design.

I don't anticipate on purchasing the Switch 2 for a while yet, but it's always exciting when new hardware is released! Excited to read some of your impressions soon.
